Word processor having the functions of a typewriter and a computer together have been used as a powerful tools for office automation. The purpose of this study is to find out the possible areas of the word processing a n.0, pplication in the library operations. For the study, the general concept, developmental process, structure, functions, kinds and suggested a n.0, pplicable areas in the library operations of word processor were investigated. Then, the cases of real a n.0, pplications of word processor in the library field were examplified. In conclusion, the areas where word processor can be of benefit to library workers can be summarized as follows, 1) Orders of books and periodical acquisitions, 2) On-line searching, and storage and editing of input as required, 3) Production of catalogues, and abstracting and indexing bulletin, 4) Budget control, circulation control, and serial control.

The position and magnitude of 1449 stars listed in "Seoung Kyung" (by Byung Kil Nahm, 1861) are compared with those in modern western star catalogues for their identification. 923 stars out of 1449 stars were identified within the range of accuracy. ${\Delta}{\alpha}{\leq}20^s.0,\;{\Delta}{\delta}{\leq}1'.0\;and\;{\Delta}m=0\;or\;{\pm}1$. When ${\Delta}{\alpha}\;and\;{\Delta}{\delta}$ increased to ${\Delta}{\alpha}{\leq}1^m.\;0,\;{\Delta}{\delta}{\leq}15'.0\;and\;{\Delta}m=0$ or +1, 399 more stars could be included in the list.

Electronic commerce over the Internet is predicted to grow at an ever-increasing rate over the next few years, with on-line sales already heading for several billion. Many companies are using this new sales channel, and a few retailers now have established major on-line sales sites. There have been some successes, particularly in technology, business-to-business and niche markets. This paper has been produced to summarise the basics of electronic commerce system, covering on-line catalogues and on-line purchasing. Electronic commerce systems consists of the authoring tools and web applications, the electronic payment technology, and the security and transaction processing.

K-SEC (Korean-Spoken English Corpus) is a kind of speech database that is being under construction by the authors of this paper This article discusses the needs of the K-SEC from various academic disciplines and industrial circles, and it introduces the characteristics of the K-SEC design, its catalogues and contents of the recorded database, exemplifying what are being considered from both Korean and English languages' phonetics and phonologies. The K-SEC can be marked as a beginning of a parallel speech corpus, and it is suggested that a similar corpus should be enlarged for the future advancements of the experimental phonetics and the speech information technology.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify analytically the relation between the characteristics and the pricing of the products of individual manufacturers, so we can offer beneficial information for designing and developing products. Light trucks of 1 ton to 4 ton have been taken up as examples. We carried out analyses based on the information on the evaluations of the functional characteristics by surveying the specifications obtained from light truck catalogues.

The goal of this survey is to propose planning and design informations for the public open spaces in apartment housing, through the observation and analysis of the current situations. For this, the planning information of housing suppliers about public open spaces and the spatial utilization of users were compared and by analyzing facility utilization and resident\`s recognition. This study is also intended to guide the future directions of the research for the improvement of public open spaces. In many fields, Kansei engineering, often called Human Sensibility Ergonomics, has been applied to the product development for customer's satisfaction. Also, it may use to a lot of products and environments related to human's convenient life. If the measurement and the validation of human sensibility are accomplished subjectively and qualitatively, then a good design is expected. This paper considers an application of one of the Kansei engineering's techniques, extraction and categorization of the sensory words, to the products of mobile telecommunication units. First, 1st sensory words were extracted from Korean dictionary, catalogues, pamphlets, etc. Second, 2nd sensory words were extracted from the questionnaires, elimination of synonym, advise of expert, etc. Third, final sensory words were extracted from questionnaires, etc. Fourth, ask to answer the questionnaires with the extracted words in the five-grade semantic differential. Finally, The factor analysis is used to categorize the extracted sensory words, and shows that the words can be grouped into some categories.

In the catalogs that have presently been under research, the product information cannot be represented in a classified form but it also fails to be well defined, lacking the description of detail information for various products on a systematic fashion. And the product information is duplicated on its representation. In this study, an implementing model is to be proposed to analyze and classify the information that can be in use of describing various products, and to describe an integrated products information for various types of products while making up for the weak points of presently available researches. Also, this study shows that it is possible for the proposed model to represent various units of product information with presently proposed model applied to computers and book products in high demand of transaction, and by implementing electronic catalogues in the existing researches to prove its efficiency.

The purpose of this study were to identify the use and related variables of instructional media by middle and high school Home Economics teachers, and to provide the foundations for the use and developments of instructional media by some teachers in Home Economics educational fields. Self administered questionnaires were distributed to middle and high school Home Economics teachers and collected by stamps from Sep. 10 to Sep. 30, 1999, and 138 questionnaires were analysed frequencies, percentages, means, and $\chi$(sup)2-test. The results were as follows：1. Schools in city areas, public schools, and boy’s schools allocated more budget to instructional media for creative Home Economics education. Teachers got instructional media information from colleagues, catalogues from media company, and advertisement or columns of journals or newspapers. 2. More younger teachers with shorter educational experiences and active members in related academic associations owned more instructional media and had the ability to develop various instructional media. 3. Most teachers showed dissatisfaction to the prices, purchasing processes, information, quality, and assortments of instructional media.

This paper describes the development of a software that has the man expert knowledge, experience and inference. This software is helpful for selecting the motors and driving systems which are best fit for the applications. Developed software can automatically select the most reasonable motor driving systems, only if a semi-skilled engineer inputs the performance criteria for the applications and mechanical data. Expert system inference engine and knowledge-base are implemented by C programming language. Data-base was implemented from manufacturer's catalogues for DC motors and brushless DC motors. Efficiencies of the various motor driving systems are compared reference on the average efficiency depends on the operating profiles. Developed expert system was tested in various of applications to verify the reliability, quick and easy selecting of the motor driving systems.
