The Influence of Career Identity, Job-seeking Stress, Self Control on Test Anxiety in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 진로정체감, 취업스트레스, 자기통제력이 시험불안에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: This study examined the relationships among career identity, job-seeking stress, self control, and test anxiety in nursing students. Methods: Data were collected through self reported structured questionnaire form nursing students using convenient sampling methods form November 15 to December 10, 2015. The data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 19.0 using ANOVA, t-test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Factors that had an influence on test anxiety included job-seeking stress(${\beta}=0.40$ p<0.001), career identity(${\beta}=-0.17$, p=0.010), fourth grade(${\beta}=-0.14$, p=0.020). These factors together explained 25% of the test anxiety in nursing students(F=25.48, p<0.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that job-seeking stress management strategies and academic career identity enhancement programs should be developed to reduce test anxiety in nursing student and that further study should be done on the effects of such programs.

A Study on the Relationship between Major Satisfaction, Career Identity, Academic Self-Efficacy and Career Preparation Behavior in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 전공만족도, 진로정체감, 학업적 자기효능감과 진로준비행동과의 관계 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate relationship among major satisfaction, career identity, academic self-efficacy and career preparation behavior of nursing students. Methods: 210 nursing students participated. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and pearson's correlation coefficients with IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0. Results: Mean score of major satisfaction, career identity, academic self-efficacy and career preparation behavior was 3.78, 2.67, 3.11 and 2.46 points. There was significant positive correlation among major satisfaction, academic self-efficacy and career preparation behavior. Conclusion: Based on the finding of this study, to improve career preparation behavior of nursing students, it needs to a systemic education system that improve major satisfaction and academic self-efficacy. In addition, it is necessary to identify the factors that affect career preparation behavior.

  • This study aimed to examine the associations between family economic status, social relationships, and the career identity of adolescents. The study assessed the mediating effects of social relationships on the relationship between economic status and the career identity of adolescents, utilizing data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). The result indicated that family economic status was related to the quality of the social relationships that significantly affected the career identity of adolescents. These findings suggested that the inequality in career development of adolescents due to family economic status could be reduced by promoting positive social relationships. Convergent interventions that help adolescents to build positive social relationships would be necessary to improve the career outcomes of those from low-income families.

  • The aim of this study was to identify the factors affecting the social welfare of students and the Career Stress. This study verified the complete model equation through the structure. The differences between the groups according to gender were significant. Majors Satisfaction, Career adaptability, Career Identity, Employability, ego-resilience, and Career Stress were used as variables. From the Gwangju Regional Social Welfare, 246 people were college students. The analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling with Latent mean analysis. The Male and Female's Majors Satisfaction, Career adaptability, Career Identity, Employability, ego-resilience, and Career Stress were similar. The impact on the path of ego-resilience and Career Stress was also similar. The Female group had a stronger impact than the ego-resilience and Career Stress Male. The Social Welfare of Students Majors Satisfaction, Career adaptability, Career Identity, Employability, ego-resilience Career Stress were different in the male and female groups.

The Convergent effect of Nurses' Image and Major satisfaction on Career Identity of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 간호사이미지와 전공만족도가 진로정체감에 미치는 융복합적 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research designed to determine the effects of nurses' image and major satisfaction on nursing students' career identity. For this purpose, the study made a questionnaire survey of 117 nursing students attending at K college located B city. Data collected from the survey were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, participants showed significant differences in nursing students' career identity on grade and motivation of entrance. Second, there were correlations between nurses' image and nursing students' career identity and also between their major satisfaction and career identity. Third, nursing students' career identity was influenced by their relationship satisfaction between professors and students, which are sub-factors of major satisfaction, but nurses' image did not influenced their career identity. Therefore it is needed to provide nursing students with educational and interventive programs that help their better their relationship satisfaction between professors and students, continuous attention and guidance are necessary to facilitate communication and career guidance between professors and students.

Effects of a Ready Planned Self Growth Program through MBTI on Interpersonal Relationships and the Career Identity of Nursing College Students (MBTI를 활용한 성장프로그램이 간호대학생의 대인관계 및 진로정체감에 미치는 효과)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of a self growth program through MBTI on interpersonal relationships, and the career identity of nursing college students. Methods: A randomized controlled pre-post test experimental design was used for this study. The 24 nursing students were randomly assigned into two groups: 12 for the experimental group, and 12 for the control group. The subjects were junior nursing students, who were randomly selected from an undergraduate nursing program at K university located in Daegu, Korea. The data was collected from March 18 to April 1, 2002. The MBTI self growth program used in this study was based on the one developed by Shim and Kim (1997). The 12 experimental group students received the group self growth program through MBTI for 15 hours, while the 12 control group students received no treatment, except a series of tests. The Korean version MBTI test used in this study was developed and verified for reliability and validity by Kim and Sim (1990). Change in inter-personal relationships was measured using the Relationship Change Scale developed by Schlein and Guerney (1971), and modified by Lee and Mun (1982). Career identity was measured using the My Vocational Situation developed by Holland. Daiger and Power (1980), and revised by Kim (1997). The data were analyzed with the SPSS Win 10.0 program, through which the 2 test, t-test, and Repeated measures ANOVA were examined. Results: 1) The first hypothesis, 'the experimental group that received the self growth program through MBTI will obtain a higher interpersonal relationship score than the control group', was supported (F=5.295. p=.031. Interaction: p=.000). 2) The second hypothesis, 'the experimental group that received the self growth program through MBTI will obtain a higher career identity score than the control group', was supported (F=28.575, p=.000, Interaction: p=.000). Conclusion: The results showed that the ready planned self growth program through MBTI had positive effects on improving the interpersonal relationships, and the career identity of nursing college students.

Effect of the Social Capital Discovery Program on Career Identity and Empowerment of Adolescents on Probation (사회적자본찾기프로그램이 보호관찰소 청소년의 진로정체감과 임파워먼트에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study is to understand the effects of a social capital discovery program on career identity and empowerment in adolescents under probation. As a result, it was discovered that the social capital discovery program had statistically significant differences in stability, goal orientation, distinctiveness and self-presence consciousness in the sub-area of career identity in adolescents under probation while there was no significant difference in the area of self-assertion. The social capital discovery program had statistically significant differences in internal and personal relationships among the sub-area of empowerment of the subjects while there were no significant differences in political-social areas. These results suggest that the social capital discovery program had significant effects on career identity and empowerment in adolescents under probation. In order to improve the career identity and empowerment in adolescents under probation, further studies on the social capital discovery program are needed and care should be paid to its usability.

  • This study tries to examine the effect of parents' neglect on career identity, and prove the meditating effect of experience satisfaction and school adjustment between the two variables in the times of convergence. For the study, the data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey was analyzed by utilizing the path analysis, and the number of subjects was 391 adolescents. The results are as follows: First, parents' neglect influenced negatively career identity. Second, experience satisfaction and school adjustment had a positive effect on experience satisfaction. Third, parents' neglect directly influenced career identity and its' effect was indirectly mediated by the subjects's experience satisfaction and school adjustment. Therefore, the result of the study can be utilized for theoretical implication and foundation for developing programs to increase career identity.

  • The purpose of this study is a descriptive research to understand the effects of isolation, depression, and resilience of nursing students on career identity. Data were collected on an online basis using a structured questionnaire from 136 nursing students at a university. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS Window 25.0 program. The influence factors on the career identity was confirmed by the resilience (β=0.32, p=.001) total explanatory power of the variables was found to be 20.5%. Therefore, based on the results of this study, it is necessary to strategy establish a positive career identity and develop an effective career identity promotion program by exerting individual resilience against to negative emotions such as isolation and depression.

The Influence of Strengths Knowledge and Nursing Professionalism on Career Identity in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 강점인식과 간호전문직관이 진로정체감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was execute to find out the influence of strengths knowledge and nursing professionalism on career identity in nursing students. Data were collected from nursing students attending in the nursing departments in G and M cities from July to September 2021. Among the collected data, 198 data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and controlled regression analysis. As a result of data analysis, strengths knowledge(β=.473, p<.001) and nursing professionalism(β=.167, p<.01) reported to have effect on career identity. The study model accounted for 48.2% of career identity. These findings suggest that program to improve strengths knowledge and nursing professionalism should be developed and operated to promote career identity of nursing students in the nursing education field.
