The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of gender, science achievement, perceptions of science, and out-of-school experience on middle school students' science career aspiration. We conduced a survey on 181 middle school students and investigated whether there was a difference in perception of science and out-of-school experience according to science career aspiration, and derived the eight variables from survey items based on exploratory factor analysis. And we conducted a logistic regression analysis that explains the effects of eight derived variables, gender, and science achievement on science career aspiration. The result of analysis showed that only two factors such as 'interest and preference for science learning' and 'use of everyday tools' were significant to explain science career aspiration. It has thus been found that it is important to increase students' interest in and preferences for science learning and use of tools in everyday life in order to increase their science career aspiration.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to systematically review and conduct meta-analysis on factors affecting career preparation behavior of Korean nursing students. Methods: Related articles published in Korean and English were collected based on search terms and converted into a numerical database. Data extraction, quality assessment and analysis including a systematic review and meta-analysis were completed. Results: The review included 27 studies. There were 25 factors influencing career preparation behavior of Korean nursing students. Factors were categorized into four sub-factors: personal, contextual, cognitive-emotional, and goal-related. In the meta-analysis of 27 articles the total effect size (ESr) was .34. The effect sizes of the four sub-factors were .37 for individual factors, .25 for situation factors, .34 for cognitive and emotional factors, and .41 for target factors. The main factors were .53 for career-related efficacy, .43 for self-leadership, and .43 for career decision level. Conclusion: Nursing students with high career-related efficacy and self-leadership are more likely to demonstrate career preparation behavior. Based on these results, educational institutions for nursing students must improve students' self-leadership and career effectiveness through education so that they can set career goals.

While male students preferred to major in surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, otorhinolaryngology, female students in internal medicine, neurology, anesthesiology and pain medicine, diagnostic radiology, laboratory medicine. Secondly, students perceived that the most important factor which can influence on choosing a medical specialty was individual factor such as one's interests and concerns, values, and aptitudes. In stead, they relatively less perceived mentor and role model's effects on choosing a medical specialty compared to those of the United States of America. Third, the career planning at Yonsei medical school was evaluated well, especially educational programmes for career planning such as self assessment programme, elective(specialized) courses, and conversation with a senior programme. The purpose of this study was to develop a PBL-based career education program and to examine its effectiveness on school children's career maturity. It's specifically meant to prepare a career education program to assist students to get an accurate grip on their aptitude, interest and personality and explore various sorts of occupations in the course of solving authentic and contextual career-related problems. After children's developmental characteristics and needs were analyzed, task analysis was implemented, and the objectives were defined. And then the core of the program, PBL problems were developed, and the validity of the problems were verified Evaluation plans and tools were prepared to assess children's problem-solving process and presentation, and an online learning space was designed. The program that consisted of 10-minute 21 sessions was provided to fifth-grade elementary schoolers for eight weeks. The findings of the study were as follows: The experimental group that participated in the PBL-based career education program showed a more significant improvement than the control group that didn't in career attitude and three career attitude subfactors involving planness, disposition and compromise. And the former made a more significant progress than the latter in career ability and its subfactors including vocational comprehension, self-understanding and decision-making skills as well. As a result of making a content analysis to make up for the survey, the students reported that they were able to get an objective understanding of themselves and acquire diverse and profound knowledge on work and the business world in the middle of solving the given PBL problems related to different areas in group and giving a presentation. In conclusion, a PBL based career education program developed by this researcher encouraged the students to have an objective self-understanding, to have a dynamic interactive discussion with their group members. Therefore the program had a positive impact on boosting the career attitude and career ability of the elementary schoolers. The findings suggested that in the field of elementary career education, autonomous learning attitude and subjecthood are the crucial factors to stimulate school children to explore and create their own future.

As basic data about students' career education in high school are being managed only in forms of NEIS, which is supported by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and the information for career education that homeroom teachers have operated by off-line system, it is hard to use them as practical decision support system for students' career education. In this study, we intend to design and embody web-based Student Management Total System by constructing DB of students' e-portfolios, school records and counselling data etc. As a result, teachers can carry out vocational education that is considered students' talents and aptitude, and we have a goal for promoting the growth of the students as the national human resources who have sound occupational consciousness through this education.
Medical students can choose to pursue any of a large number of specialties. This diversity reflects exciting opportunities, yet it also present significant challenges, such as providing medical students with adequate resources and guidance to help them to make informed career decisions. Additionally, because the medical internship will be abolished in the near future, many Korean medical schools have recently focused on implementing a career planning and advising program. This paper describes the Careers in Medicine (CiM) program offered by the Association of American Medical Colleges as a framework for other schools to adopt or adapt as they consider the best ways to address the career counseling needs of their own students. CiM is a comprehensive career planning program that provides students with the skills, information, and resources to choose a specialty and residency program that meets their career goals. CiM follows a four-year, four-step career planning process including self-understanding, exploring a variety of medical careers, and finally choosing a specialty. The CiM program has been evaluated as successful because of widespread participation and positive feedback from medical students. The information in this study can be used to develop a formal career advising program throughout the four years of medical school.
