  • This study was to validate the WSBS_PECT (Workplace Spirituality Belief Scale for Prospective Early Childhood Teacher) using discriminant analysis on prospective early childhood teachers' happiness and career maturity. The data from 523 prospective early childhood teachers were analyzed statistically through t-test and binary logistic regression model. The results indicated that 1) the higher group in workplace spirituality belief significantly gets more scores of happiness and career maturity than the lower group, 2) 1 factors of the WSBS_PECT has discriminant power on prospective early childhood teachers' happiness, and 3) 2 factors ('meaning for life' and 'belief on calling for ECE teacher job') of the WSBS_PECT are effective to discriminate prospective early childhood teachers' career maturity. Further statistical works are supplementary needed to validate the WSBS_PECT and to increase its' feasibility.

Methods: Data were collected from 232 nurses working in four university hospitals and were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. Results: The mean score of knowledge of hand hygiene was 8.1. The mean scores of behavioral, normative, and control belief about hand hygiene were 2.3, 2.5, and -0.7, respectively. Knowledge was correlated with educational level (p=.013) and experience of hand hygiene campaign (p=.018). The behavioral belief was correlated with age (p<.001) and career (p=.002). The normative belief was correlated with work department (p=.007). The control belief was correlated with educational level (p=.043) and experience of being monitored on hand hygiene (p=.010). The subjects who believed that head nurses, charge nurses, and colleagues practiced better hand hygiene had higher behavioral and normative belief scores than those who did not. There were no significant relationships between knowledge and beliefs. Conclusion: There is a need to improve knowledge of hand hygiene in hospital nurses. • This study explored what latent classes appear according to the combination of Belief in a Just World (BJW) and social class of middle-aged adults, and examined whether there are differences in career transiton, perceiving a calling, and working as meaning in each class and what characteristics they have. 224 middle-aged people who experienced turnover through online and offline were surveyed and analyzed by Latent Profile Analysis. The participants were divided into 5 latent classes such as; 'Relative self-satisfaction', 'Social contentment', 'Relative deprived', 'Fairness trust' and 'Fairness distrust'. According to the results of MANOVA analysis to figure out if there are differences in career transitions, perceiving a calling, and working as meaning depending on latent classes, significant differences were appeared among latent classes. Finally, multinominal logistic regression analysis was conducted to examine whether demographic characteristics and 'decent work' affect the latent group classification. As a result, the more 'decent work', the higher the probability of belonging to the class with high BJW and social class. On the basis of the results of this study, the implications on the case conceptualization and counseling strategy for adults focusing on BJW and Social class in adults and future research were discussed.

  • Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate the attitude and influencing factors toward basic life support in the dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 218 dental hygienists in Gwangju. The questionnaire consisted of the general characteristics of the subjects and attitude toward basic life support (BLS). The attitude included cognitive belief, behavioral components, and emotional components. The data were analyzed by independent t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis by using IBM SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The cognitive belief, behavioral component, and emotional components of attitude toward BLS had higher scores in those who were between 34-34 years old and had more than 10 years of career. Most of them worked in dental clinic and did not earn the BLS certificate. There were positive correlations between the cognitive belief, behavioral components, and emotional components toward BLS. By the regression analysis, cognitive belief toward BLS was positively associated with educational experience within a year, behavioral components, and emotional components. The behavioral components were associated with working between 5-10 years in dental clinic and the emotional components. Conclusions: The attitude toward BLS in the dental hygienists was low in cognitive belief, behavioral components, and emotional components. Therefore, BLS education must be expanded to the dental hygienists.
