Device-to-device (D2D) communication is an excellent technology to improve the system capacity by sharing the spectrum resources of cellular networks. Multicast service is considered as an effective transmission mode for the future mobile social contact services. Therefore, multicast based on D2D technology can exactly improve the spectrum resource efficiency. How to apply D2D technology to support multicast service is a new issue. In this paper, a resource allocation scheme based on cognitive radio (CR) for D2D underlay multicast communication (CR-DUM) is proposed to improve system performance. In the cognitive cellular system, the D2D users as secondary users employing multicast service form a group and reuse the cellular resources to accomplish a multicast transmission. The proposed scheme includes two steps. First, a channel allocation rule aiming to reduce the interference from cellular networks to receivers in D2D multicast group is proposed. Next, to maximize the total system throughput under the condition of interference and noise impairment, we formulate an optimal transmission power allocation jointly for the cellular and D2D multicast communications. Based on the channel allocation, optimal power solution is in a closed form and achieved by searching from a finite set and the interference between cellular and D2D multicast communication is coordinated. The simulation results show that the proposed method can not only ensure the quality of services (QoS), but also improve the system throughput.
The performance evaluation of reinforcement concrete structure is carried out as a function of the following performance influencing factors: (1) the strength of concrete, (2) longitudinal reinforcement, (3) transverse reinforcement, (4) aspect ratio, and (5) axial force. With various values of the five parameters, eigenvalue analysis and non-linear static analysis were performed to investigate the structural yield displacement, yield basis shear force, and static performance of ductility ratio. In addition, the performance evaluation is carried out according to the modified capacity spectrum method (FEMA-440) using the results of non-linear static analysis, and the effect of each parameter on performance point is analyzed. Based on the result of eigenvalue analysis and non-linear static analysis indicates, that the natural period and the ductility ratio are affected more by the structural properties than the material properties. In case of the analysis of the criterion of performance points, the effect of section shape is one of the important factors together with natural period and ductility ratio.

Device-to-device (D2D) communication is expected to offer local area services with low transmit power and short link distance, even not via any infrastructures. These advantages will lead to the deployment of D2D systems in a massive scale, where the order of magnitude of D2D user density is higher than that of cellular user density. Network-assisted D2D systems, where D2D resources are managed by cellular networks, are unable to support the large number of D2D devices, due to the signaling overhead for control signals. In this case, no coordination can be an answer. This paper considers uncoordinated D2D systems, which is implemented with a number of D2D devices in a large scale. By analyzing the transmission capacity of D2D systems, we found a feasibility condition under which the uncoordinated D2D communications possibly coexist within cellular networks, sharing the uplink spectrum. In addition, we provide guidelines for the operational points of massive D2D communications, giving some knowledge about proper transmit power level and link distance of uncoordinated D2D.

Water-soluble collagen (30 wt%) was entrapped within oil phase of lipstick using reversed micelle method to improve the moisture capacity of the lipstick. Reversed micelles containing collagen were prepared using caprylic/capric triglyceride as external phase and polyoxyethylene (10) octylphenyl ether (Triton X-100) and 1-dodecanol as surfactant and co-surfactant, respectively. The formation of reversed micelle encapsulating collagen was confirmed by measuring electric conductivity and UV-vis spectrum using methylene blue (MB). The stability and moisture capacity of the lipstick containing 20 wt% collagen encapsulated reversed micelles were observed by measuring rheology property, moisture content and amino acid content. The molecular ratio (W, water-pool) of water to surfactant (Triton X-100) in the most stable reversed micelle was ${\leq}$ 10. The hardness of the lipstick had no difference with that of the lipstick without reversed micelle, and the moisture content was increased to 59% and the amino acid content was 92.7%.

The main purpose of this study is to provide a basic information for the seismic capacity evaluation and the seismic design of low-rise reinforced concrete (RC) shear wall buildings, which are comprised of a pilotis in the first story. In this study, relationships between strengths and ductilities of each story of RC buildings with pilotis are investigated based on the nonlinear seismic response analysis. The characteristics of low-rise RC buildings with pilotis are assumed as the double degree of freedom structural systems. In order to simulate these systems, the pilotis is idealized as a degrading trilinear hysteretic model that fails in flexure and the upper story of shear wall system is idealized as a origin-oriented hysteretic model that fails in shear, respectively. Stiffness properties of both models are varied in terms of story shear coefficients and structures are subjected to various ground motion components. By analyzing these systems, interaction curves of required strengths for various levels of ductility factors are finally derived for practical purposes. The result indicates that the required strength levels derived can be used as a basic information for seismic evaluation and design criteria of low-rise reinforced concrete shear wall buildings having pilotis structure.
The fruits of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus Seeman (Araliaceae) were extracted with 70% aqueous ethanol at room temperature. The concentrated extract was partitioned with ethyl acetate (EtOAc), n-butyl alcohol, and $H_2O$, successively. From the EtOAc fraction, two compounds were isolated through the repeated silica gel, octadecyl silica gel, and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatographies. According to the results of physicochemical and spectroscopic data including NMR, mass spectrometry, and infrared spectroscopy, the chemical structures of the compounds were determined as 3,5-dihydroxycinnamic acid (1) and protocatechuic acid (2). Compound 1 was isolated from the fruits of A. sessiliflirus Seeman for the first time. And the compounds were evaluated for the radical scavenging the antioxidant capacity using 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)diammonium salt, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazy, and oxygen radical absorbance capacity assay.

In this study, a seismic behavior of electrical cabinet system in Nuclear Power Plants(NPPs) was evaluated by the shaking table test. A 480V Motor Control Centers(MCCs) was selected for the shaking table test, and a real MCC cabinet for the Korea Nuclear Power Plant site was rented by manufactured company. For the shaking table tests, three kinds of seismic input motions were used, which were a US NRC Reg. guide 1.60 design spectrum, a UHS spectrum and PAB 165' floor response spectrum(FRS). Especially, the UHS input motion was selected for an evaluation of structural seismic amplification effects, three directional accelerations were measured at three points outside on the cabinet system and also that of the incabinet response amplification, accelerations were measure at two points which were mounted in electrical equipment such as relay. Seismic amplification effect is determined at the outside and inside of a cabinet as input seismic motion, and compared to the results which are calculated by analytical method based on NUREG/CR-5203.
For about the past decade and a half research efforts into cognitive radio networks (CRNs) have increased dramatically. This is because CRN is recognized as a technology that has the potential to squeeze the most out of the existing spectrum and hence virtually increase the effective capacity of a wireless communication system. The resulting increased capacity is still a limited resource and its optimal allocation is a critical requirement in order to realize its full benefits. Allocating these additional resources to the secondary users (SUs) in a CRN is an extremely challenging task and integer programming based optimization tools have to be employed to achieve the goals which include, among several aspects, increasing SUs throughput without interfering with the activities of primary users. The theory of the optimization tools that can be used for resource allocations (RA) in CRN have been well established in the literature; convex programming is one of them, in fact the major one. However when it comes to application and implementation, it is noticed that the practical problems do not fit exactly into the format of well established tools and researchers have to apply approximations of different forms to assist in the process. In this survey paper, the optimization tools that have been applied to RA in CRNs are reviewed. In some instances the limitations of techniques used are pointed out and creative tools developed by researchers to solve the problems are identified. Some ideas of tools to be considered by researchers are suggested, and direction for future research in this area in order to improve on the existing tools are presented.

In this paper, we examine the scheme that the CR (Cognitive Radio) user can coexist with primary user with obeying the concept of interference temperature proposed by FCC. Regarding to the capability of classifying the signals of primary user after the spectrum sensing, the interference temperature model can be discriminated by the ideal and generalized ones. And then, about each model, it can optimize the bandwidth and transmit power with satisfying predetermined capacity of CR user. Especially, it has been considered to allocate to CR user not to interfere to primary users for proper coexistence in conventional interference temperature multiple access technique, proposed by T. Clancy, but this paper proposes the scheme that considering QoS of not only primary users, but also CR user. The hill-climbing algorithm is employed to produce the bandwidth and transmit power subject to satisfying the required capacity.
The frequency variation among speakers is one of problems in the speech recognition. This paper applies fuzzy theory to solve the variation problem of frequency features. Reference patterns are expressed by fuzzified patterns which are produced by the peak frequency and the peak energy extracted from codebooks which are generated from training words uttered by several speakers, as they should include common features of speech signals. Words are recognized by fuzzy inference which uses the certainty factor between the reference patterns and the test fuzzified patterns which are produced by the peak frequency and the peak energy extracted from the power spectrum of input speech signals. Practically, in computing the certainty factor, to reduce memory capacity and computation requirements we propose a new equation which calculates the improved certainty factor using only the difference between two fuzzy values. As a result of experiments to test this word recognition method by fuzzy interence with Korean digits, it is shown that this word recognition method using the new equation presented in this paper, can solve the variation problem of frequency features and that the memory capacity and computation requirements are reduced.
