  • The reliability guarantee insurance policy for parts and materials was introduced to the market in 2003. This policy indemnifies manufactures of products for the repair/failure costs, recall expenses of products and business interruption losses found to be defective by users or demand companies during the terms of guarantee and after the user acquired physical possession of the product. In this paper, owing to the nature of the policy, we propose a new rate-making system considering the type of product and industry, quality control circumstances, record of guarantee performance, and exposure.

  • Due to its nature, business foundation accompanies high levels of risk taking and responsibility. For this reason, entrepreneurs come to experience various negative emotions in the process of business foundation such as anxiety about risks, fear of failure, and pressure of success. However, entrepreneurs' negative emotions reduce individual inclinations for business foundation. Thus, it is necessary to research individual psychological characteristics that could reduce and attenuate entrepreneurs' negative emotions. To this end, this study examined the effects of Self-forgiveness, and Narcissism, psychological motivation variables, and Positive psychological capital and Career ambition, goal motivation variables, on entrepreneurial intentions. In order to verify research hypotheses, 326 questionnaires collected from prep-entrepreneurs were used for the empirical analysis. Looking at the analysis results, Self-forgiveness, Narcissism, Positive psychological capital and Career ambition had significant effects on entrepreneurial intentions. This study has a meaning in that it confirmed the influential relationship between the psychological characteristics reducing entrepreneurs' negative emotions and entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, this study suggested its implications, limitations, and future research directions based on the study results.

  • In this paper, a software policy considering testing time and the number of errors corrected is presented. The software is tested until a specified testing time or the time to a specified number of errors are corrected, whichever comes first. The model includes the cost of error correction and software testing during the testing time, and the cost of error correction during operation. It is assumed that the length of software life cycle has no bounds, and the error correction follows an non-homogeneous Poisson process. An expression for the total cost under the policy is derived. It is shown that the model includes the previous models as special cases.

  • Changes in the business environment and increased competitiveness have led many companies to consider Business Process Reengineering(BPR) as a means to improve performance. However, while some BPR projects have been successful among the many companies that have performed BPR, most of the reengineering efforts have been deemed unsuccessful as the project failed. There are many answers to this, but the most important point is that the effective linkage between process innovation and information system construction is insufficient. Even if the reform of consciousness is carried out through the promotion of management innovation activities such as BPR, and the process is improved, management infrastructure can not be continuously maintained if infrastructure, especially information system, is not built up to support it. In this paper, we propose BPR and information system combining methodology for successful BPR execution and information system construction, and describe the result of BPR consulting performance when constructing information system and compare the improvement of failure risk factor. In addition, we present the case through the case of K company, and finally present customer satisfaction through post evaluation after completion of K company information system construction project implementation.

  • This objective of this study is to examine the influence of age and gender on entrepreneurship in Vietnam's context. Although various studies have been conducted to examine age and gender differences in the entrepreneurial process, the results reveal inconsistencies. Moreover, the relationship between different factors and their role in explaining age and gender differences in the entrepreneurship activities still has no clear answer. Our analyses were based on data collected for the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Monitors (GEM) from individuals located in Vietnam with a sample of 2,118. Our findings show that female entrepreneurs had less household income and were likely to have more fear of failure in starting a business. Entrepreneurs tend to be older and young entrepreneurs have better education. The study also indicated that male entrepreneurs were likely to have more perception of the ease to start a business. Moreover, the number of male respondents who are currently entrepreneurs is higher and they are older. The contribution of this study is twofold. First, it provides empirical evidence on the age and gender differences in entrepreneurship. Second, it contributes to the understanding of the entrepreneurship environment in Vietnam, one of the most dynamic emerging countries in the East Asian region.

  • In this study, the authors developed typologies of failures and recovery strategies in healthcare services, adopting the research framework of Kelley et al.(1993), Hoffman, et al.(1995), and Forbes et al.(2005). Data were collected form a sample of 559 respondents recruited in several regions of Korea through self-administered questionnaires. Data collection was done at hospitals and clinics respondents were visiting. The study has identified typologies of 21 failures and 10 recovery strategies in health care services. Results shows that "insufficient explanation by doctors" was the most frequent service failure followed by "insincere attitude of administrative employees" and "insincere attitude of nurses. "The type of recovery (compensation) that most of the respondents have received was apology from the healthcare service providers while the recovery that most respondents wanted to receive was sufficient explanation, suggesting that there is a significant gap between what is wanted and what is offered. Implications for healthcare service providers as well as limitations of the current study were discussed. Directions for further research were also suggested.

  • A Project planning is one of the most important processes that determines success and failure of a project. Scope management for a project planning is also essential job in system integration project. However project planning is very difficult because lots of factors and their relationships should be considered. Therefore project planning of system integration project has been done by project manager's own knowledge and experience. It is necessary to develop an algorithm of WBS(Work Breakdown Structure) identification & document selection along to project's specificity in project management system using AI technique. This study presents a methodology to cope with the limitations of the existing studies that have uniformly been customizing the methodology by only project complexity. We propose PPSM(Project planning support module) based on determination rules regarding route maps and document levels, and CBR(Case-Based Reasoning) for WBS identification.
