  • Film bulk acoustic resonator used in microwave region can be analyzed by one-dimension Mason's model and one-dimensional numerical method, but it had several constraints to analyze effects of area variation, electrode-area variation, electrode-shape variation and spurious characteristics. To overcome these constraints film bulk acoustic resonator must be analysed by three dimensional numerical method. So, in this paper three dimensional finite element method was used to analyze several moles of resonance and was compared with the one dimension Mason's model analysis and analytic solution.

  • Post-harvest treatment for barley production requires many steps including drying, cleaning, and packing, and these steps be needed many labor input. Rice processing complex (RPC) is useful for post harvest management system in rice production. However, it is rare to be used for barley production. This study was conducted to explore the variations of quality and labor saving between conventional method and bulk-management system in post-harvest using RPC. The sorting rate was not different between manual method and bulk management. The hardness of non-polished grain was ranged 10,175-10,329 g/$3.14mm^2$, and that for non-polished grain was higher than that for polished grain, but there was not different between drying method. There was not be showed the hunter's value such as L, a and b according to drying method. Cooking characters such as water absorption ratio, swelling ratio, and water soluble extracts by circulated or continued dryer was higher than manual drying using solar heat. Labor input per ha for each cultivation process in bulk-management of barley using rice processing complex was 21 hours, compared to 46 hr/ha in the conventional method, labor input was greatly saved by up to 54.3% in the post-harvest bulk management system.

  • The measurement based on reliable standard operating procedures (SOPs) is important for consistent information. The objective of this study is to investigate reliable SOPs of soil physical methods, including core method for bulk density, Yamanaka hardness, and air permeameter method for air permeability. The coefficients of variation in bulk density (core method), Yamanaka hardness, and air permeability were ranged of 1~6%, 8~13%, and 10~84%, respectively. The variation in situ measurement such as bulk density, hardness, and air permeability due to spatial variability at measuring site was larger due to the number of replicates, organic matter content, and soil texture. Nevertheless, air permeability had different values as different number of replicates, and thus, it is thought that more replicates can result in higher reliability. It suggested that investigation of soil physical properties for the target sites should required to consider about soil texture, organic matter content, and number of replications before measurement. In conclusion, core sampling for bulk density measurement in upland soil recommended to perform in 3 repetitions with 2 inch core, and 3 inch core sampling for higher organic matter content.

  • The change in the open porosity of bulk graphite as a function of the uniaxial molding pressure during manufacturing is studied using artificial graphite powder. Subsequently, the graphite is impregnated to determine the effect of the open porosity on the impregnation efficiency and to improve the density of the final bulk graphite. Bulk graphite is manufactured with different uniaxial molding pressures after mixing graphite powder, which is the by-product of processing the final graphite products and phenolic resin. The bulk density and open porosity are measured using the Archimedes method. The bulk density and open porosity of bulk graphite increase as the molding pressure increases. The open porosity of molded bulk graphite is 25.35% at 30 MPa and 29.84% at 300 MPa. It is confirmed that the impregnation efficiency increases when the impregnation process is performed on a specimen with large open porosity. In this study, the bulk density of bulk graphite molded at 300 MPa is 11.06% higher than that before impregnation, which is the highest reported increase. Therefore, it is expected that the higher the uniaxial pressure, the higher the density of bulk graphite.

  • The new metrology, Advanced Poly-silicon Ultra-Trace Profiling (APUTP), was developed for measuring bulk Cu and Ni in heavily boron-doped silicon wafers. A Ni recovery yield of 98.8% and a Cu recovery yield of 96.0% were achieved by optimizing the vapor phase etching and the wafer surface scanning conditions, following capture of Cu and Ni by the poly-silicon layer. A lower limit of detection (LOD) than previous techniques could be achieved using the mixture vapor etching method. This method can be used to indicate the amount of Cu and Ni resulting from bulk contamination in heavily boron-doped silicon wafers during wafer manufacturing. It was found that a higher degree of bulk Ni contamination arose during alkaline etching of heavily boron-doped silicon wafers compared with lightly boron-doped silicon wafers. In addition, it was proven that bulk Cu contamination was easily introduced in the heavily boron-doped silicon wafer by polishing the wafer with a slurry containing Cu in the presence of amine additives.

  • RBSN Method, Rigid-Body-Spring Network Method, is a structural analysis method that overcomes the problems faced in FEM analysis of concrete or crack forming structures. In RBSN, irregular lattices are used to model structural components consisting of bulk material, curvilinear reinforcements, and their interfaces. Because reinforcements and their interfaces in the bulk material are freely positioned, meshing is irrespective of the geometry of the representing bulk material. In this paper, RBSN method of 3D is applied in simulating the pull-out test of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) embedded in concrete. The comparison of analysis results to experimental results shows that RBSN method simulates the shear-slip behavior very precisely. From the analysis results, 3D RBSN method is proven to be an effective and accurate analysis method for concrete structural analysis. Also, the results show that RBSN method can be a potential analysis method for concrete structures that can replace the current FEM analysis.

  • This study presents a direct measurement method for grain bulk modulus, which is important hydraulic-mechanical properties of rock, and conducts the experiment to investigate the grain bulk modulus of sandstone. In addition, the factors affecting the grain bulk modulus were investigated, comparing volumetric characteristics of rocks with different properties. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the theoretically estimated bulk modulus is overestimated than the direct measured one. The possibility of the difference was analyzed, discussing the existence of non-connected pore space due to particle structure of the rock. Finally, the experimental results showed that the direct measurement suggested in this study can reliably predict the grain bulk modulus of sandstone.

  • Large grain YBCO bulk superconductors are fabricated by the top-seeded melt growth (TSMG) or top-seeded infiltration growth (TSIG) method. Both growth methods use at least one of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-{\delta}}$, $Y_2BaCuO_5$, $BaCuO_3$ pre-reacted precursor powders. However, the synthesis of the pre-reacted powders includes multiple calcination runs which are cost-bearing and time-consuming. In this work, we report the successful growth of single-domain YBCO bulk superconductors directly by using the powder compact that has been pressed from the mixture of $Y_2O_3$, $BaCuO_3$ and CuO powders without any intermediate grinding step. Single-domain YBCO bulk superconductor has been also prepared by using $Y_2O_3$, $BaO_2$ and CuO powders without intermediate grinding step. Investigations on the trapped magnetic field and microstructure of the melt-processed specimen show that the elimination of the repeated processes of calcinations and pulverization has hardly affected on the crystal growth and the magnetic properties of the grown YBCO bulk superconductors. However, it is thought that the presence of residual carbon affects on the size of Y211 particles in melt-processed YBCO bulk superconductor.
