3D BIM 기반 철골 제작도면 산출 생산성 분석 (A Study on the Productivity Analysis of 3D BIM-based Fabrication Documents Extraction)

  • Extraction of fabrication documents is very important because it provides information related to tasks of fabrication and construction. Therefore, in the case of a prefabricated member such as a steel structure, it is necessary to improve the productivity of fabrication documents through 3D BIM. However, research and evidence data on direct comparison analysis of 3D BIM-based documents extraction versus 2D CAD-based documents extraction are hard to find. Thus, this study focuses on productivity analysis of 3D BIM based fabrication documents extraction. In this study, the productivity data of fabrication documents extraction for module construction of EPC project was analyzed. For the productivity analysis, a case study on the fabrication documents of Module A (1,965 sheets) and Module B (1,216 sheets) was conducted. Fabrication documents for each module include general arrangement drawing, assembly drawing, single part drawing and single plate drawing. Comparison of 2D CAD based fabrication documents extraction and 3D BIM based fabrication documents extraction, the productivity for the entire work was improved from 17 hours to 16 hours for Module A and 12 hours to 7 hours for Module B. Especially, the productivity of the assembly drawings, which occupies a large part of the fabrication documents, was improved by about 48.75% from the total time required from 281 hours to 144 hours.

Condition assessment of fire affected reinforced concrete shear wall building - A case study

  • The post - fire investigation is conducted on a fire-affected reinforced concrete shear wall building to ascertain the level of its strength degradation due to the fire incident. Fire incident took place in a three-storey building made of reinforced concrete shear wall and roof with operating floors made of steel beams and chequered plates. The usage of the building is to handle explosives. Elevated temperature during the fire is estimated to be $350^{\circ}C$ based on visual inspection. Destructive (core extraction) and non-destructive (rebound hammer and ultrasonic pulse velocity) tests are conducted to evaluate the concrete strength. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) are used for analyzing micro structural changes of the concrete due to fire. Tests are conducted for concrete walls and roof slab on both burnt and unburnt locations. The analysis of test results reveals no significant degradation of the building after the fire which signifies that the structure can be used with full expectancy of performance for the remaining service life. This document can be used as a reference for future forensic investigations of similar fire affected concrete structures.

  • Large fires continue to spread throughout the building, including the fire in Uijeongbu in 2015, the fire in Jecheon in 2017, and the fire in Miryang in 2018. According to the above fire case investigation, major problems were the fire resistance performance of compartment members such as fire doors, the fire spread due to damage to exterior wall openings, and smoke spread through vertical openings. However, in South Korea, only specification design is implemented for buildings that are not subject to performance design. In addition, the analysis of the fire resistance performance standards of building members in the specification design showed that fire doors were not specified in detail for 60 minutes of insulation performance and 60 minutes of fire resistance performance of E/V doors, limiting the prevention of fire spread. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to prepare measures to prevent the spread of fire by presenting simple transplants for calculating the required fire time according to the architectural design conditions for the performance design of the components of the fire room according to the purpose of use of the front of the building.

  • Existing buildings now represent the greatest opportunity to improve building energy efficiency. Building performance analysis is becoming increasingly important because decision makers can have a better visualization of their building's performance and quickly make the solution for improving building energy efficiency and reducing environmental impacts. Nowadays, building information models (BIMs) have been widely created during the design phase of new buildings, and it can be easily imported to third party software to conduct various analyses. However, a BIM is not always available for all existing buildings. Even if a BIM is available during the design and construction phases, it is very challenging to keep updating it while a building is aged. A manual process to create or update a BIM is very time consuming and labor intensive. A laser scanning technology has been a popular tool to create as-is BIM. However it still needs labor-intensive manual processes to create a BIM out of point clouds. This paper introduces automatic as-is simplified BIM creation from point clouds for energy simulations. A framework of decision support system that can assist decision makers on retrofits for existing buildings is introduced as well. A case study on a residential house was tested in this study to validate the proposed framework, and the technical feasibility of the developed system was positively demonstrated.

항공 LiDAR와 항공사진을 이용한 건물 경계 정교화 (Refinement of Building Boundary using Airborne LiDAR and Airphoto)

  • 항공사진이나 LiDAR 데이터를 이용하여 건물의 자동 추출에 있어서 많은 연구가 이루어졌지만, 3차원 위치정보와 영상의 형상정보라는 두 데이터의 장점을 융합하여 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 등고선 기반의 건물인식 알고리즘을 사용하여 LiDAR 데이터를 이용한 건물 인식 정확도를 향상시키고, 항공사진을 이용하여 건물 경계의 정교화도 추구하였다. 등고선기반 건물 인식 방법은 건물의 경계와 지붕구조물 정보를 생성할 수 있으며, 기존 TIN기반 인식 방법이나 NDSM기반 방법보다 우수한 건물 탐지 정확도를 보여주었다. 등고선으로 추정된 건물경계에 일정한 크기의 버퍼를 생성하여 항공사진의 경계영역을 한정시키고, double active contour를 사용하여 항공사진의 에지에 맞도록 건물경계를 정교화 하였다. 본 연구성과를 이용하여 향후 추출된 개체 경계의 일정 범위에서 최적의 정합을 수행하여 3차원 건물 경계를 생성할 수 있다.

BIM 기반 외피전개도 자동추출의 고려사항 및 표준화 연구 (Issues and Standardization technology in Automatic Extraction to Create an Planar Figure of Envelope based on BIM)

  • The information on the planar figure of the building envelope is commonly required in various criteria related to the energy performance of the building. However, since the method of creating varies depending on each criterion, the information displayed in the planar figure of the building envelope differs considerably according to the person making the figure. In this regard, this study sought to derive the commonly required information for the unification of the information included in the planar figure of the building envelope, and thus examine the standardization of the planar figure of the building envelope based on BIM. Towards this end, 1) the required information about the planar figure of the building envelope was derived through the literature review and case analysis results submitted to the energy performance evaluation agencies, and 2) the standardized output technology using IFC was investigated based on the required information. Therefore, it is expected that the findings of this study will help to create a general-purpose planar figure for the building envelope, and this study can serve as the preliminary research for automatically extracting the information on the planar figure of the building envelope.

온톨로지 자동추출도구의 기능적 성능 평가를 위한 평가지표의 개발 및 적용 (Measurement Criteria for Ontology Extraction Tools)

  • 이제 인터넷은 시맨틱 웹(Semantic Web)의 형태로 진화 발전하고 있다. 그 결과 시맨틱 웹의 지식을 표현하는 백본 인 온톨로지가 매우 중요하게 인식되고 있다. 그러나 온톨로지를 구축하는 것은 많은 시간과 자원을 필요로 하는 작업이다. 이로 인해 온톨로지 추출도구(ontology extraction tool)에 대한 개발의 필요성이 지난 십여 년간 제기되어 왔으며, 온톨로지를 자동으로 추출하거나 온톨로지 구축을 돕는 도구들이 개발되었다. 그러나 여러 온톨로지 자동추출도구들 중에 구축하고자 하는 온톨로지의 사용자 요구사항에 적합한 자동추출도구를 선택하기 위해서는 이런 도구들에 대한 평가지표가 필요하다. 하지만, 현재 이런 도구들을 평가하기 위한 포괄적인 평가 프레임워크(comprehensive evaluation framework)가 존재하지 않는다. 본 연구에서는, 문헌연구를 수행하여 온톨로지 자동추출도구가 갖춰야 할 핵심 요소들을 찾고, 온톨로지 추출도구들을 평가하기 위한 일련의 평가지표들을 개발했다. 또한 본 연구에서 제안하는 평가지표에 따라 온톨로지 자동추출도구인 OntoLT, Text-To-Onto, TERMINAE, OntoBuilder를 평가해 보았다.

달 영구음영지역에서 로버 탐사를 위한 저조도 영상강화 및 영상 특징점 추출 성능 실험 (Experiment on Low Light Image Enhancement and Feature Extraction Methods for Rover Exploration in Lunar Permanently Shadowed Region)

  • 달 영구음영지역에 얼음 형태의 물이 발견되면서 주요 우주국들은 로버 중심의 현장 탐사를 준비 중이다. 달 영구음영지역은 극지역 크레이터의 중심부로 태양광이 직접 도달하지 않지만, 크레이터 벽면으로부터 반사되는 태양광으로 인해 일정 수준의 저조도 환경이 유지되는 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구에서는 달 영구음영지역의 조도와 지형환경을 모사한 실내 테스트베드를 구축하여 모의 지형영상을 촬영하였다. 모의 영상을 대상으로 저조도 영상강화 기법(CLAHE, Dehaze, RetinexNet, GLADNet)을 적용하여 밝기값과 색상복원 효과를 분석하였고, 특징점 추출 및 정합 기법(SIFT, SURF, ORB, AKAZE)의 성능 향상을 분석하였다. 실험 결과 GLADNet과 Dehaze 영상 순으로 저조도 환경에 강인한 시인성 개선 효과를 보여주었다. 반면 특징점 검출 및 정합 기법은 Dehaze와 GLADNet 영상 순으로 성능이 향상됨을 확인하였고, 특히 ORB와 AKAZE의 성능이 크게 개선되었다. 달 탐사에서 로버 탑재 카메라는 3차원 지형정보구축과 지질학적 조사에 활용된다. 따라서 GLADNet은 토양 성분과 암석 종류 판별에 유용하고, Dehaze는 로버의 주행과 함께 3차원 지형정보 구축에 적합할 것으로 판단된다.
