교량설계문서의 통합관리를 위한 XML 기반의 문서모델 개발과 응용 (Development of XML-based Document Model and Its Applications for Integrated Management of Bridge Design Documents)

  • This paper presents a prototype of document schema to guarantee the consistency of the bridge design information during the life-cycle of bridge. The main component of document schema for bridge design information is derived from the Document Type Definition (DTD) Pool which is the Construction CALS/EC standard in Korea and the document schema is implemented by using the XML Schema. The ifcXML are adopted for representing product data of bridge. A pilot system adopting the document schema and its application to existing bridge show that the suggested document schema can be efficiently used to develop software modules supporting the integrated design documents for bridges.

  • This study provides a new operation strategy which can guarantee the data consistency of engineering information among the various intelligent information systems. We present the strategies for the operation of bridges engineering information and the construction methodology of integrated database. The two core standard techniques are adopted to construct the integrated database. One of these standards is the Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data (STEP) for CAD/CAE information and the other is the Extensible Markup Language (XML) for engineering document information. This study can transform a document me into a data type for web-based application modules which assist end-users in searching and retrieval of engineering document data. In addition, relaying algorithm is developed to integrate the two different information, e.g. CAD/CAE information and engineering document information. The pilot application modules for management and maintenance of existing bridge are also developed to show application of the strategy.

The former enabler structural engineers to handle the structural details with three-dimensional geometry-based information of bridges, and ACIS solid modeling kernel is employed to develop AutoCAD based application modules. The latter can make document files into data type for web-based application modules which assist end-users to search and retrieve engineering document data. In addition, relaying algorithm is developed to integrate the two different information, e.g. CAD/CAE information and engineering document information. The pilot application modules are also developed, and a case study subjected to the Han-Nam bridge is presented at the end of the paper to illustrate the use of the developed application modules.

  • Bridge engineering documents have essential contents that must be referenced continuously throughout a structure's entire life cycle, but research related to the quality of the contents is still lacking. XML schema matching is an excellent technique to improve the quality of stored data; however, it takes excessive computing time when applied to documents with many contents and a deep hierarchical structure, such as bridge engineering documents. Moreover, it requires a manual parametric study for matching elements' weight factors, maintaining a high matching accuracy. This study proposes an efficient weight-factor determination method based on an artificial neural network (ANN) model using the simplified XML schema-matching method proposed in a previous research to reduce the computing time. The ANN model was generated and verified using 580 data of document properties, weight factors, and matching accuracy. The proposed ANN-based schema-matching method showed superiority in terms of accuracy and efficiency compared with the previous study on XML schema matching for bridge engineering documents.

  • UPnP Bridge supporting diverse network interface has to meet standard requirements in order to be connected with legacy devices. It is able to provide or bridge a service description and device description according to a specification because IEEE1394 and USB have this standard requirements. But it is difficult to know whether it RS232C supports only serial communication and packet transfer. It need a document for the standard definition of communication protocol on UPnP device having such interface. By doing so, this document can understand device and packet type. This paper defines MFD(Message Field Description) and makes UPnP message converter. So it will be base to standardize supporting variable legacy device.

  • A method for automatic check of omitted design item in structural calculation document of steel box bridges is proposed. A method for automatic check of omitted design item in structural calculation document of steel box bridges is proposed. Information processing for the proposed method is divided into two steps: automatic generation of document structure in XML Schema Definition (XSD) format and extract omitted design items by using the XML Schema matching technique. The automatic omitted element filter is developed on the basis of the proposed method, and the accuracy of the developed module is examined with case study subjected to existing structural calculation document samples.

  • In recent years, dramatic advances in information technology have motivated the construction industry to improve its productivity. Computer-based information technology includes Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Digital Mock-Up (DMU) and Product Data Management (PDM). Most construction industries are trying to apply these technologies for quality improvement, reduction of construction time and cost. PDM is very useful for managing data and process related to product design and manufacturing. PDM system has various functions such as drawing and engineering document management, product structure and structure modification management, part classification management, workflow management, and project management. In this paper, PDM system was applied to the design of steel-concrete composite girder bridge. To make a practical guidance for PDM implementation to bridge design, the procedure for its implementation was presented. Consequently, this paper could be useful to enhance the efficiency of bridge design.

XML 스키마 매칭 기법의 교량 구조계산서 적용 방안 (An Efficient Application of XML Schema Matching Technique to Structural Calculation Document of Bridge)

  • 본 논문에서는 실무에서 작성된 교량 상부 구조계산서를 대상으로 문서구조를 분석하고 그 차이점을 찾아낼 수 있는 XML 스키마 매칭 기법을 효율적으로 적용하기 위한 방안을 제시한다. 이를 위해 XML 응용 스키마 매칭 기법의 유사성 측정에 사용되는 요소이름, 부모요소, 형제요소 및 자식요소의 가중치에 대한 매개변수 연구를 30개의 서로 다른 학습용 데이터를 대상으로 수행하여 구조계산서 문서구조 비교에 적합한 가중치를 제시하였다. 또한, 대량의 구성요소를 지니는 구조계산서의 문서구조를 비교할 때 많은 계산시간이 소요되는 단점을 극복하고자 유사성 정량화에 사용할 수 있는 간략 식을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 간략 식을 이용한 방법은 그렇지 않은 기존의 연구결과와 비교했을 때 계산시간을 획기적으로 단축시킬 수 있으면서도 거의 유사한 정확도를 나타냄을 알 수 있었으며, 매개변수 연구에서 제시된 최적 가중치를 활용하면 기존 연구성과보다 약 10% 이상 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 실무에서 사용하는 강교량 상부 구조계산서 20개를 대상으로 실시한 수치실험 결과 본 연구에서 제시된 방법을 이용하는 것은 기존 연구에 비해 문서 구조 파악의 우수한 정확도를 유지하면서 계산시간 측면에서는 구성요소의 수에 따라 4배에서 460배까지 줄일 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Sensors based bridge monitoring system (SBBMS) is designed to perform real-time monitoring and to store the performance history of in-service bridges. In general, visual inspections play a major role in maintenance of in-service bridges; however, they are not adequate to document the behavior of a bridge. Therefore, visual inspections and sensor based monitoring systems complement each other. Sensor based bridge monitoring systems consist of hardware and software systems. The hardware system contains the sensors and data-loggers to measure the behavior of a structure, the communicational equipment to transmit the measured data from the site to the monitoring center, and the computers to arrange and analyze the data. The software system controls data-loggers, arranges and analyzes the measured data, makes real-time display, stores the performance history.

문서구조 추출기법을 이용한 엔지니어링 문서 텍스트 정보의 XML 변환 (Transformation of Text Contents of Engineering Documents into an XML Document by using a Technique of Document Structure Extraction)

  • 본 연구에서는 교량의 구조계산서와 같이 여러 종류의 머리기호를 사용하며 제목의 계층구조가 복잡한 형식을 띄는 엔지니어링 문서의 비구조화된 텍스트 정보를 제목의 계층 구조에 따른 준구조화된 XML 문서로 변환시키는 방법을 제시한다. 텍스트 정보로부터 제목의 계층구조를 자동으로 추출하기 위해 문서구조분석 방법의 하나인 문서구조추출 기법을 이용하는 방법을 개발하였으며, 특히 개조식 구문의 식별방법을 개발하여 구조계산서 문서 계층구조의 제목추출과정 및 계층구분의 전체 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 제시된 방법에 따른 응용모듈을 개발하였으며, 총 40개의 교량 구조계산서를 대상으로 그 성능을 평가하였다. 먼저, 20개의 강거더 상부 구조계산서를 대상으로 선행 연구결과와 비교하여 본 연구에서 개발된 응용모듈의 정확성과 신뢰도가 향상됨을 보였다. 또한, 다른 구조형식에 대한 구조계산서 20개에 대하여 개발된 모듈의 적용성을 평가하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 제안한 방법에 의한 문서 계층구조 분석의 최종 정확도는 평균 99% 수준 이상을 나타내고, 표준편차는 1.52로 나타나 본 연구에서 제시된 방법이 다양한 형식의 머리기호를 사용하여 제목을 구분하는 여러 엔지니어링 문서에도 적용이 가능함을 보였다.
