Customers' Brand Attitude and Purchase Intention Formation Process by Advertising Execution Types - A Korean Coffee Shop Case (커피전문점의 광고실행 유형이 고객의 상표태도 및 구매의도 형성과정에 미치는 영향)

  • For the purpose of creating or maintaining a favorable customers' attitude tourism service firms use an advertising as a communication tool by changing ad-execution formats. Affective or informational ad-executions are normally applied for the service industry. In this study ad-attitude, products attitude, and purchase intention are tested whether the variables would be influenced by the ad-execution formats. As the result the study found that Ad-attitude influenced on product attitude but not on purchase intentions in the affective ad-execution format, whereas the Ad-attitude influenced both on product attitude and purchase intentions.

Shopping Orientation and Knitwear Purchasing Behavior of Female College Students in the U.S. (미국 여대생의 쇼핑 성향과 니트웨어 구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • The Main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between shopping orientations and Knit wear Buying Behavior of female college students in the U.S. age 18 to 33. The questionnaires for this survey were developed to measure knitwear purchasing behavior, including sources of information about knitwear, evaluative criteria of knit wear product, attributes f store preference for knitwear, and shopping orientation. The questionnaire was administered to 119 female college students in the University of California. The data was analyzed by percentage, frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cluster Analysis and ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range test. The female college students were classified into five subdivisions by cluster analysis; cautious shopping group, recreational shopping group, self-confident shopping group, shopping indifferent group, price conscious shopping group. In the case of fashion information sources of knit wear, significant differences were found according to shopping orientation subdivision in observation of others' and famous people's clothing, fashion shows, fashion articles in magazines, newspapers, and on the Internet, and shop displays. The evaluation criteria of knit wear product were significantly different depending on shopping orientation subdivision in fashionable, brand and store name, appropriate for different occasion, prestige. The store attributes of knitwear were significantly different depending on shopping orientation subdivision in product knowledge of sales personnel, store atmosphere, display of merchandise, layaway payment plan, price level, ease of parking and access, and new fashion.

  • The current new distribution environment provides the consumers to shop at anytime and any places by using mobile appliances. So, the companies which run the offline-store increase the contact point with the consumer by launching not only online-store but also the mobile application (app). Moreover, they are trying to operate the Omni-channel shopping environment. In order for this research to draw the direction of 'the Omni-Channel Strategy', which is about the changed distribution environment of the domestic fashion enterprise, the following steps were performed. First of all, the term related to 'Omni-Channel' is defined. And then, Example of the 'Omni-Channel' strategy and 'O2O' business in the domestic distributior were researched. Lastly, present condition of the 'Omni-Channel' strategy case of the domestic fashion industry was researched. At the result, the online-stores usually have several brands which can not represent their identities. It is suggested that each online-store according to each brand has their own characteristic identity. And The Omni-Channel strategy of the domestic fashion enterprise that is needed the connection point connecting the on-line and off-line. It is able to allure the customer to the off-line-store.

  • The contemporary consumer's fashion retail shops are becoming diverse in function and sensitivity while keeping in mind the effects of consumer's lifestyles according to changing fashions. Recently, external changes and expressive characteristics have become symbolic in retail fashion shops. This reinforces the importance of the skin, which is becoming image-sensitive and increasingly important. Therefore, this thesis will study the relationship between expressive tendency and skin in fashion retail shops by distinguishing the characteristics of a skin historically as well by categorizing the four brands from flagship stores which have introduced brand identity and an exceptional expressiveness of skin into types of form and space.

  • 미용업의 사회적 인식이 높아짐에 따라 국내 미용서비스산업은 경영적 측면에서 체계화되고 규모면에서도 날로 확대되는 등 양적, 질적인 성장하고 있으며, 국내 업계끼리는 물론이고 글로벌화로 인하여 외국의 선진 프랜차이즈와도 경쟁하는 단계에 이르렀다. 이러한 환경적 변화 속에서 국내의 미용업계는 한 차원 높은 성장을 위한 자구적 노력이 필요한 상황이다. 그러나 국내 미용업계는 서비스 제공자 관점에서 일방적인 서비스를 제공하여 왔고 고객관점에서 가치 있는 서비스의 내용과 품질을 제대로 파악하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 미용서비스품질을 정의하기 위한 연구들은 계속되고 있으나 미용서비스품질에 대한 명확한 개념정의는 물론이고 앞으로 국내 미용업계 성장의 축이 될 브랜드 미용실의 고유 서비스품질은 여전히 확정적이지 못한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서 브랜드 미용실 고유의 서비스품질 요인들을 발견하고, 지각된 가치, 고객만족, 재이용의도 간의 인과관계를 알아보고자하며, 특히 지각된 가치의 매개적 역할과 계량적 중요성을 알아보고자 하였다. 또한 브랜드 미용서비스를 이용하는 고객들의 단골고객 신념수준에 조절효과가 있는지 알아보기 위하여 가치-고객만족, 가치-재이용의도, 고객만족-재이용의도 간의 이에 대한 조절효과를 검정하였고, 효과적인 서비스품질전략을 제시하고자 하였다.

Effect of Verbal and Non-verbal Salesperson Communication in Service Encounters on Customer Emotions and Service Quality Perceptions -Focus on National Brands- (캐주얼의류매장 판매원의 커뮤니케이션이 감정유형과 서비스품질지각에 미치는 영향 -내셔널브랜드를 중심으로-)

  • This study investigates the effect of verbal and nonverbal communication on customer emotions and service quality perceptions. The subjects used in this study were customers of a fashion shop in Sunchon South Korea. The questionnaires were conveniently sampled from July 2010 to August, 2010. Questionnaire data from 335 customers of a national brand were analyzed through a reliability analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that the verbal communication of service providers have a significant impact on customer emotion. Second postures/proxemics and physical appearance/paralanguage (out of 3 factors of nonverbal communication) have significant (+) influences on the positive emotion of customers and kinesics have significant (-) effects on the negative emotion of customers. Third, the verbal communication of service providers has a considerable impact on customer service quality perceptions. Forth, given the relationship between non-verbal communication and service quality, it was represented that all factors (postures/proxemics, physical appearance/paralanguage, and kinesics) of nonverbal communication, have significant positive influences upon customer service quality perceptions. Fifth, it was found that customer emotions have a significant impact on customer service quality perceptions.

A Study of Adolescents' Clothing Involvement and Attitudes toward Clothing Advertisements (청소년의 의복관여와 의류광고에 대한 태도)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate adolescents' attitudes toward clothing advertisements and, to examine how much the influence of clothing ads on their clothing purchase depends on their clothing involvements. This research was based on a survey method using questionnaires. The subjects for the research were 508 middle and high school students in the area of Daegu City and Gyungbuk Province. Such methods as factor analysis, correlations, ANOVA, T-test and Scheff's test were used to analyze the collected data. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. Adolescents' clothing involvements showed three dimensions such as interest and symbolism, fashion and danger perception. 2. They showed three different attitudes toward clothing ads: positive, negative, and reliant. 3. The degree of the influence of clothing ads on adolescents' clothing purchase was great in the order of media ads, shop ads, discount ads and brand ads. 4. The more interested they were in clothing, the more likely they were to purchase their clothing on their will and the more positive and reliant on clothing ads they were, which they recognized as useful information.

A Comparative Study of Men's Global Apparel Brand Websites: Focused on Color Application of Local & Global Websites (남성 글로벌 브랜드의 국내외 웹사이트 색채 특성 비교)

  • As more and more consumers shop online, websites of fashion brands have become effective means for business activities. The Colors of web sites are the most effective visual elements for e-tailers to communicate with consumers. The purpose of this study is to compare websites created for local and global markets by men's apparel brands. The empirical study focused on differences of color application between the local and global websites. Fourteen brands were chosen for the study. The main color, sub color, and accent color were extracted according to the screen component ratios for each website. The colors were analyzed by Munsell's 10 Hues and 12 tone classifications of Practical Color Coordinate System. The Results indicated that all websites were using White as the main color. The local website used pale tones while global websites used dark tones. There was also differences in the use of sub colors and tones. Red was most used as the accent color in both local and global websites.

A survey to study the wearing and purchasing of brassieres between Korean and Chinese women in their 20's (한국과 중국 20대 여성의 브래지어 착용 및 구매실태 조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to survey the wearing and purchasing situation related to brassieres between Korean and Chinese women and to analyze the differences among them. This study utilized a survey targeting 397 women in their 20's in Korea and China. The results were as follows: First, Korean women considered that their breasts are conical in shape, whereas Chinese women considered their breasts to have a flat shape. With regard to breast size, those of Chinese women are larger than those of Korean women. Moreover, Chinese women expressed a high rate of dissatisfaction with their breasts. Second, regarding the wearing condition of brassieres, while Korean women expected their brassiere to converge their breasts to the center, Chinese women expected their brassiere to support the breasts. It was found that many of them were dissatisfied with the shoulder straps and the center front wire. Third, in the results pertaining to the purchasing brassieres, although both Korean and Chinese Women mainly visited brand name stores to buy brassieres, compared with Chinese women, Korean women prefer to shop at home to buy the brassieres. In addition, they considered the compensation effect, size, activity, fabric and fit as the most important selection criteria when purchasing a brassiere.

Effect of the Customer Emotion to Salespersons in Service Encounter on Customer Evaluation and Behavioral intention (감정유형이 판매원에 대한 고객평가와 행동의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigates the effect of customer emotions on customer evaluation and behavior intention. The subjects used in this study were customers of a fashion shop in Sunchon South Korea. First, emotions of customer were divided into 2 patterns, positive emotion and negative emotion. Second positive emotion have significant (+) influences on the trust and negative emotion have significant (-) influences on the trust. Third positive emotion have significant (+) influences on the customer orientation and negative emotion have significant (-) influences on the customer orientation. Forth, the emotions of customer have a considerable impact on the interaction intention. And the positive emotion have significant (+) influences on the word-of-mouth intention and negative emotion have not a considerable impact on it. Fifth the positive emotion have significant (+) influences on the attitude toward store and repurchase intention, and negative emotion have significant (-) influences on the attitude toward store and repurchase intention.
