  • One of the major difficulties with modular approach model of separation process simulation is initial guess problem. Only accurate initial guess make the problem converge and large computer memory and calculating time are required. In this study, we use the initial bottom guess value same as given feed condition and update the value the .theta.method. So we examine;(1)the problem converges using initial guess with large range, (2)computer memory and calculating time are reduced considerably.

  • 패트리네트는 시스템의 관계를 시작적으로 보여주어 시스템의 모델링을 쉽게 만든다. 시스템의 각 부분에 관한 정보를 가지고 전체와 부분에 대하여 하향식(top-down)과 상향식(bottom-up) 설계를 할 수 있게 해준다. 패트리네트는 그래프 표현이므로 FMS(flexible manufacturing systems)등과 같은 실시간 제어(real-time control)의 구현에 사용될 수 있으며 토큰 정보로부터 시스템의 각 부분의 상태를 실시간 감시(monitoring)할 수 있다. 패트리네트는 PLC(programmable logic controller)와 같이 여러 요소시스템(subsystem)을 순서대로 동작시키고 조정한다. 시스테메 대한 페트리네트 모델로부터 시뮬레이션(simulation)을 할 수 있고, 이로부터 성능 평가를 할 수 있다.

  • Cyclones are among the oldest types of industrial particulate control equipment and air sampling device. Until now, a great number of experimental studies have been performed on cyclones. In these studies, almost all of the eight cyclone dimensions were varied and Changes in cyclone performance produced by these variations were studied. 항만개발에 따른 수질변화 및 개선책에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Changes of Water Quality due to the Development of Harbor and its Improvement)

  • It is very important to quantitatively assess the movement of sea water and pollutant dispersion before or after constructing shore structures such as breakwater considering marine environment and long-term utilization of those structures. This assesment is possible through the use of simulation models designed to predict water movement and pollutant dispersion in a certain area. In this study the numerical computations were carried out to predict the sea water quality in the Ilgwang Harbor located at the east coast of Pusan. The flow patters were investigated before and after the development of Ilgwang Harbor. The computational models adopting ADI Method (Alternating Direction Implicit Method) were used here and were already verified from the previous studies. As a results of this study the tidal exchange in Ilgwang Harbor after development proved to be worse due to the increased semi-enclosed at the harbor limit. In order to improve the water quality of this area after development a new method was proposed to improve water quality in the semi-enclosed bay by creation and control of tidal residual currents. For this purpose the unsymmetric structures so called bottom roughness were introduced in this study. The simulation was carried out on the basis of the study by Komatsu et. al. and Gug and we made a conclusion that it is possible to generate a new tidal residual current and to increase the tidal exchange by application of bottom roughness arrangement.

밭토양에서 저회의 풍화가 온실가스 배출 저감에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Weathering of Bottom Ash on Mitigation of Green House Gases Emission from Upland Soil)

  • BACKGROUND: Weathering of bottom ash (BA) might induce change of its surface texture and pH and affect physical and chemical properties of soil associated with greenhouse gas emission, when it is applied to the arable soil. This study was conducted to determine effect of weathering of BA in mitigating emission of greenhouse gases from upland soil. METHODS AND RESULTS: In a field experiment, methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), and nitrous oxide (N2O) emitted from the soil was periodically monitored using closed chamber. Three month-weathered BA and non-weathered BA were applied to an upland soil at the rates of 0, 200 Mg ha-1. Maize (Zea mays L.) was grown from July 1st to Oct 8th in 2018. Both BAs did not affect cumulative CH4 emission. Cumulative CO2 emission were 23.1, 19.8, and 18.8 Mg/ha/100days and cumulative N2O emission were 35.8, 20.9, and 17.7 kg/ha/100days for the control, non-weathered BA, and weathered BA, respectively. Weathering of BA did not decrease emission of greenhouse gases significantly, compared to the weathered BA in this study. In addition, both BAs did not decrease biomass yields of maize. CONCLUSION: BA might be a good soil amendment to mitigate emissions of CO2 and N2O from arable soil without adverse effect on crop productivity.

배수갑문 유입수류의 에너지 감쇠에 따른 암석 침식 가능성 추정 (Estimation of Rock Erodibility due to Energy Dissipation of Inflow Passing through the Sluice Gate of Seadike)

  • 시화배수갑문은 당초 내측 담수호의 수위관리를 위하여 설계되었으나 호수의 수질 악화를 방지하기 위하여 배수갑문을 당초 계획보다 잦은 빈도로 작동시키고 있다. 이에 따라 강한 유입 흐름의 영향을 받는 내측 배수로의 바닥이 상당히 넓은 범위에 걸쳐 침식되고 있다. 최근에 침식이 진행되는 것을 막기위하여 에이프런 전면부 일부 구간을 수중콘크리트로 타설하여 바닥보강을 시행하였다. 본 연구는 수리모형실험을 통하여 바닥보강 시행 이전과 이후에 대하여 수리현상을 파악하고 유입흐름의 에너지 변화와 바닥 암석의 저항력 등을 파악하여 향후 침식의 추이를 예측하기 위하여 실시하였다. Annandale(1995)은 침식지수 이론을 도입하여 많은 실험을 통하여 침식지수와 흐름의 에너지 감쇠 간의 관계를 파악하였으며 암석의 침식여부를 판단할 수 있는 기준을 제시하였다. 암석의 침식지수는 지질조사에서 시추한 시편의 분석결과를 토대로 결정하였으며 수류의 에너지 감쇠는 수리모형실험 결과로부터 전수두의 감쇠량의 추정을 통하여 계산하였다. 이와 같이 결정된 두 값을 주어진 기준도상에 도시하여 그 위치에 따라 침식가능성을 판단하였다.

바텀애시를 이용한 저발열 혼합시멘트 및 콘크리트의 기초물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Basic Properties of Concrete and Low Heat-Blended Cement with Bottom Ash)

  • 최근 들어 석탄회의 재활용에 관한 연구는 환경문제와 관련되어 활발히 진행되어 왔으며 미국, 일본과 같은 선진국에서는 이미 석탄회를 각종 산업분야에 적용함으로써 환경오염 저감 및 경제적 이익 측면에서 상당한 성과를 이루고 있다. 이에 국내에서도 지속적인 연구개발을 통해 시멘트 및 레미콘분야 등에서 시멘트 클링커 원료나 콘크리트 혼합재로 석탄회를 사용함으로써 2005년도 기준 전체 석탄회 발생량 중 약 58.5%정도를 재활용하고 있다. 그러나, 이는 석탄회 중 플라이애시(Fly Ash)에 한정된 것으로, 전체 석탄회 발생량 중 10$^{\sim}$20%에 달하는 바텀애시(Bottom Ash)에 대한 재활용은 극히 미미한 실정이며, 현대 대부분 매립처분되어 심각한 환경오염을 야기하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국가적인 사회간접자본의 투자가 증대됨에 따라 초고강도콘크리트 및 매스콘크리트와 같은 특수콘크리트에 수요가 증대되고 있는 저발열 혼합시멘트(Low Heat-Blended Cement)의 혼합재로써 바텀애시의 사용 가능성 여부를 검토하고자 바텀애시의 첨가량 변화에 따른 저발열 혼합시멘트 및 콘크리트의 기초물성 변화를 비교검토 하였다.

A Study on the Optimum Mix Proportion of the Mass Concrete Designed as Massive and Deep Structure

  • This study describes data from determination of the optimum mix proportion and site application of the mass concrete placed in bottom slab and side wall having a large depth and section as main structures of LNG in-ground tank. This concrete requires low heat hydration, excellent balance between workability and consistency because concreting work of LNG in-ground tank is usually classified by under-pumping, adaptation of longer vertical and horizontal pumping line than ordinary pumping condition. For this purpose, low heat Portland cement and lime stone powder as cementitious materials are selected and design factors including unit cement and water content, water-binder ratio, fine aggregate ratio and adiabatic temperature rising are tested in the laboratory and batch plant. As experimental results, the optimum unit cement and water content are selected under $270kg/m^3$ and $l55{\~}l60 kg/m^3$ separately to control adiabatic temperature rising below $30^{\circ}C$ and to improve properties of the fresh and hardened concrete. Also, considering test results of the confined water ratio($\beta$p) and deformable coefficient(Ep), $30\%$ of lime stone powder by cement weight is selected as the optimum replacement ratio. After mix proportions of 5cases are tested and compared the adiabatic temperature rising($Q^{\infty}$, r), tensile and compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, teases satisfied with the required performances are chosen as the optimum mix design proportions of the side wall and bottom slab concrete. $Q^{\infty}$ and r are proved smaller than those of another project. Before application in the site, properties of the fresh concrete and actual mixing time by its ampere load are checked in the batch plant. Based on the results of this study, the optimum mix proportions of the massive concrete are applied successfully to the bottom slab and side wall in LNG in-ground tank.

밸러스트 탱크를 이용한 수중로봇의 Roll/Pitch의 자세제어 (Roll/Pitch Attitude Control of an Underwater Robot using Ballast Tanks)

  • This paper proposes a new method on attitude control of an underwater robot by using five ABTs (Attitude Ballast Tank). A pipe is connected to the bottom of the ABTs and transfers water by a pump, while another pipe is connected to the top of the ABT to transfer air. The buoyancy center of the underwater robot can be changed by means of the water transfer. This way, the attitude of the underwater robot can be maintained and/or controlled as desired. The changes of the center of gravity and the buoyancy central are estimated by a Lagrangian function which is similar to that for an inverted pendulum. The controller in this paper is designed by modeling of the underwater robot and selecting suitable gains of a PD controller which has fast response characteristics. This paper shows the possibility of the attitude control of an underwater robot by changing the center of gravity and the buoyancy center of the robot. Moreover, experimental results verify that the controller is effective in maintaining Roll/Pitch of the underwater robot with very low power consumption.

  • Generally, ships have marks of various shapes on outside of the hull. Among them, so called "Draft Mark" indicates the distance from the bottom of the keel to the waterline. Draft marks are used to determine the displacement and other properties of the ship for stability and control purposes. These marks are made up of welding bead or sticking the steel plate on outside of the hull. To improve the confidence level of the ship owner, quality and accuracy of the draft mark is very important. So the automatic mark welding robot is used to enable a high quality and accurate manufacturing line. To improve the system portability, the system is divided into two distinct parts, namely mechanical part and control part. Mechanical part is robust, a lightweight, and easy to dismantle. The control part consists of an in-house developed controller, which is based on embedded Linux. Also, the control part consists of power line communication module to ensure the applicability of the controller in manufacturing line. In this paper, the methodologies of control and configuration of the robot are discussed.
