  • Based on the perspective of international trade and cross-border e-commerce development, this paper explores the impact of cross-border e-commerce on international trade. This paper first describes the current situation of China's cross-border e-commerce and proposes a theoretical model of the influence of China's cross-border e-commerce on its international trade based on the research and summary of a large number of relevant documents. This paper establishes an extended gravity model based on the proposed theoretical model. Relevant data of 13 trading partner countries were used as sample data, and OLS regression analysis and heterogeneity analysis were conducted on gravity model by using Eviews 11.0. Then, in order to study the influence of each variable on import and export trade volume, import and export trade volume were respectively taken as explained variables and further studied by OLS regression analysis. To test the robustness of the model, the empirical analysis results show that cross-border e-commerce does promote the volume of China's international trade.

  • Since the 1990s, political geographers have focused on the study of the process of border construction. They have shifted from the old morphological and functional approaches to boundary that have focused on the types and functions of boundaries. Recent scholarship on border studies understand boundaries and the border regions as entities with overlapping and competing relationships not as manifestation of territoriality. There has been the emphasis on the multidimensional actors and the historical and cultural legacies inherent in the border region as well. Based on these recent discussions, this study examines how the border region has been constructed by various actors and strategies in Dandong China, the border city between North Korea and China. Several sanctions including UN Security Council have been resolved and implemented in accordance with North Korea's nuclear and missile development, which is a relevant example to examine the "border as relationships" in which strategies of various actors are competing. In addition, this paper has a significance as a case study on the construction process of border and the characteristics of its materiality, which is a way to overcome the limitation of discourse-oriented critical geopolitical research.

  • This paper attempts to elaborate on features of cross-border interaction conducted on Dan-dong, the main city of China-North Korea trade. Through the deep interview with some trader or firms and also questionnaire survey, this paper can reveal the supremacy of informal or non-market mechanism in the cross-border trade and inter-firm linkages, and also trader and firm's rent-seeking behaviour. These features show the uniqueness of border regime between China and North Korea. Even though it is getting more porous than before, I argue that China keeps the stance toward quite controlled borderland. As the proof of this argument, I show that main tenet of China's bordland policies is the borderland stability rather than the development. The striking one is the 'Prosperous Borders, Wealthy Minorities Program(??富民行???)'. In spite of the program's title, its utmost purpose is to secure the 'borderland stability and territorial integrity' rather than to enhance the border's openness and borderland's development.

  • An enhncer detector line(EDL) having P[1ArB] insertion in X chromosome with expression of reporter gene (lacZ) in the polar cells and border cell of egg chamber was established and used to monitor the differentiation and migration of border cells during the oogenesis of Drosophila. differentiation of border cell from the anterior polar follicle cells was evident in stage-9 egg chamber of EDL149 which was characterized by migration of columnar follicle cells toward posterior of egg chamber surrounding the oocyte. Migration of border cells was observed in the stage-9 and -10 egg chambers. \beta -galactosidase activities were rapidly increased during the first 4 days after eclosion, and it coincided with the timing of border cell differentiation in the ovary during adult life. Homozygote of EDL149 showed some retardation of border cell migration , resulting absence of migration of some border cells in the anterior part of egg chamber or delayed migration of some border cells in the stage-10 egg chamber. These results suggest that the P[1ArB] of EDL149 is inserted at the locus of the structural gene required for the border cell migration. In addition to the expression in egg chambers, lacZ expression was also detected in the meiotic germ cells of testis and antenna, suggesting the possible requirement of the trapped gene function in these organ. this EDL and enhancer trapped gene might be useful for the study of developmentally regulated cell migration.

  • At present, Ganghwa County and Ongjin County of Incheon Metropolitan City are under the application of a different land use regulation like military regulations, etc. due to distinct characteristics of a border area; moreover, these two Counties have degenerated into the deepening area of economic backwardness and decline with the overlapping application of various land use regulations on the ground that these areas belong to a metropolitan area in view of an administrative district. In addition, different support is also implemented for border areas, such as 'the Special Act on Border Area Support' for the border areas, and development projects for special situation areas, etc.; however, realities are that the border areas are not free from regulations as yet due to the problems of unreality of support projects, and hierarchy of ordinances, etc. Accordingly, this study implemented this research under the judgment that it's about time to mitigate overlapping regulations on regional characteristics of the border areas of Incheon Metropolitan City, i.e. different land use regulation as a border area. It is required that general land use regulations should be mitigated through f lexible deregulation & management of the military regulation on the border areas of Incheon-si, mitigation of regulations under the Metropolitan Area Readjustment Planning Act, and relaxation of the preservation area of cultural properties; particularly, it's necessary to minimize the damage to border areas of Incheon-si caused by overlapping regulations on the areas by exempting the areas from the range of a metropolitan area through acknowledgment of the difference between the distinct characteristics of the border areas and regional, cultural conditions of a metropolitan area.

  • Grain yield of rice plants grown in outmost first and second rows in paddy field blocked by 50 cm wide levee was averaged 30 percent more than that in center rows, but yield increased percents in border rows were significantly different between varieties. Average border effect through 3 varieties were recognized only in first and second rows from levee, but most vigorous variety, Hangangchal, showed border effect up to fourth rows from levee. Rice plants grown in border rows had more number of panicles per hill and more number of spikelets per panicle. Total dry matter weight and average leaf area of rice plants in border rows differed with those in center rows from 30 to 60 days after transplanting. Early maturing variety showed the difference between border and center rows quickly concerning to total dry matter weight and leaf area. Rice plants grown in border rows showed higher values of CGR, RGR, NAR, and LAR through the growth duration except 1 or 2 growing periods.

  • Impression taking is a very important procedure in complete denture fabrication for reproduction of the tissue surface from which obtain retention and support of denture base. Therefore, we can not construct retentive denture without precise impression taking. Retention in complete denture can be obtained by the closest contact between denture base and underlying tissue, maximum coverage and proper displacement of the border tissue for peripheral sealing. Therefore, it is very important to take impression of the border tissue displaced properly. Nowadays, impression of the border tissue is mainly taken by the border molding techniques by means of manual muscle trimming, but due to various muscle trimming methods as clinicians, it is difficult to select proper method. This technique is also bodersome to do and time-consuming procedure. Retention is also likely reduced, because of the recording excessive muscle movement than actural physiological border tissue movement. Therefore, the impression technique that records actual physiologic functional muscle movement is helpful to increase denture retention and easy to do. We named this technique a functional border molding technique. This technique is originally introduced by D. J. Neill and R. I. Nairn in 1968. We tried to fabricate complete denture by the impression by means of functional border molding technique for better retention and the convenience, and obtained good results.

  • While this paper will be of interest to Convergence of Knowledge and Border Thinking, one of my main concerns has been to open the world of mind. Because the convergence of knowledge and border thinking are closely related to the problems of mind. It should be clear from this procedure that the scope of this study is limited. It is not intended to be a definitive account of all problems of mind, bur rather a clear and thorough account of that segment of mind that pertains to an analysis of convergence of knowledge and border thinking. This claim, with their supporting arguments, will be discussed as follow; 1. What our knowledge has been for? 2. Knowledge and convergence of knowledge 3. How is the convergence of knowledge made up? 1) meeting at border 2) mind as a border 3) converging at mind.

  • In the face of the serious security situation with the increasing threat from North Korea, Korean Army is pursuing a reduction in troops through the performance improvement project of the GOP science-based border security system, which utilizes advanced technology. In order for the GOP science-based border security system to be an effective alternative to the decrease in military resources due to the population decline, it must guarantee a high detection and identification rate and minimize troop intervention by dramatically improving the false detection rate. Recently introduced in Korean Army, the GOP science-based border security system is known to ensure a relatively high detection and identification rate in good weather conditions, but its performance in harsh weather conditions such as rain and fog is somewhat lacking. As an alternative to overcoming this, a radar-based border security system that can detect objects even in bad weather has been proposed. This paper proves the effectiveness of the AI-based scientific border security system based on radar that is being currently tested at the 00th Division through the 2021 Rapid Acquisition Program, and suggests the direction of development for the GOP scientific border security system.

  • District of Korea affected by westerly wind and heavy rainfall is predominantly distributed in the west and south of Honam district. So, this study is becoming a necessity. In this study, it is investigated that the characteristics of heavy rainfall occurred frequently in Honam district along the border of mT airmass after the end of rainy season due to atmospheric instability, lower (850 hPa) convergence and topographic effect. Our results show that heavy rainfall occurred in Honam district along the border of mT airmass results from the appropriate mechanism of the unstable vertical structure and moisture flux in the expansion and contraction of the border of mT airmass. All things considered, the improvement of the predictability of heavy rainfall occurred in Honam district along the border of mT airmass could be possible by the generalization of the results of this study.
