  • The genome sequence of various Flammulina species has recently been reported, thereby revealing a diverse genetic repertoire. In this study, we identified laccase genes and analyzed their structural characteristics in Flammulina elastica (F. elastica) genome. Through genome analysis and bioinformatics approaches, three laccase genes (Fe-lac1, -lac2, and -lac3) were identified, ranging from 1,548 to 1,602 bp in length. These genes contained a copper ion-binding region with ten histidine residues and one cysteine residue and a disulfide bond-forming region with four cysteine residues. Full-length cDNA sequencing analysis revealed that laccase genes contain 12 to 16 introns and signal peptides between 17 and 22 bp in the N-terminus. Structural characterization of the laccase genes identified in this study should help in better understanding the biomass decomposition of F. elastica.

  • Mezzanine products are financial investment products with both bond and stock characteristics, which are mainly issued by low-grade companies in the financial market to secure liquidity. Therefore, bondholders investing in mezzanine products must make decisions about when they want to convert to stocks, along with whether they invest in mezzanine products issued by the company. Therefore, in this paper, a total of 2,000 learning data and 200 predictive experimental data with stock conversion events completed by major industries are divided, and mezzanine event algorithms are designed and performance analyzed through artificial neural network models. This topic is meaningful in that it proposed a methodology to scientifically solve the difficulties of exercising mezzanine products, which are of high interest in the financial field, by applying artificial neural network technology.

  • In order to characterize the shear strength of the frozen sand for foundation design in cold region and prediction of adfreeze bond strength, many researchers developed test techniques and carried out many tests to analyze shear strength properties of the frozen sand for half a century. However, many studies for shear strength properties of the frozen sand have been carried out with limited circumstances, even though shear strength of the froze sand can be affected by various influence factors such as soil type, temperature conditions, and magnitude of normal stress. In this study, direct shear test equipment was used to analyze the shear strength characteristics of the frozen sand. Direct shear test equipment was designed for cold weather, and the direct shear tests were carried out inside of large-scaled low temperature chamber. Three soil types-two uniform sands and one well graded soil were used to analyze the shear strength of the frozen sand with three different temperature conditions and three different vertical confining pressures. In this research, a series of direct shear tests for shear strength of the frozen sand have been conducted to demonstrate the efficiency of effectiveness of the test equipment and low temperature chamber. This research also showed that shear strength of the froze sand increased with decreasing temperature condition, but the influence of vertical confining pressure was insignificant to the shear strength of the frozen sand.

  • This study intended to investigate the characteristics of adolescent drug user in Korea. A questionnaire on adolescent drug use was administered to 1st or 2nd grade 898 students (465 males, 433 females) from 9 senior high schools in Seoul area. The extent of current using six representative drugs such as cigarettes, alcohol, chemical substance inducing hallucination(e,g., thinner, bond etc.), psychostimulant, hypnotic and minor tranqulizer was self-reported. Also their psychological distress, self-concept and individual-related variables such as academic grade, deviant behavior, drug-using peers, the perceived availability of drugs, the degree of family discipline, and the perceived parents' attitude for drinking and smoking were surveyed. Subjects were grouped into six(male) or five(female) subgroups (nonuser, simple experiencer, one kind of drug user, two kinds of drugs user, three kinds of drugs user(male only), minor tranqulizer user) to their extent of drug use. Then ANOVA procedure performed for group comparison of their psychological distress, self-concept and individual-related variables. The results showed that the most popular drugs among adolescents in Korea were cigarettes and alcohol. Minor tranqulizer was used by about 2.8% of male and 7.41% of female subjects. In general abusers showed lower academic grade, more deviant experiences, having more drug-using peers, higher degree of psychological distress, and lower postitive self-concept than nonuser group. According to the results of discriminant analysis, hostility and deviant behavior were reliable predictive variables that distinguished abuser group from nonuser group among the associated variables in this study. These results suggest that some common factors affect drug use of Korean high school students : high school students who have many common risk factors could be abusers more easily. These findings supported risk factor theory that the extent of drug use of adolescents might be associated with general maladjustment in everyday life.

  • In this work, the zeolite/diglycidylether of bisphenol A(DGEBA) systems were investigated in terms of the cure kinetics and mechanical interfacial properties of the composites. The 4, 4-diamino diphenyl methane(DDM) was used as a curing agent for epoxy. Two types of zeolite(PZ) were prepared with 15 and 35 wt% KOH treatments(15-BZ and 35-BZ, respectively) for 24 h, and their surface characteristics were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction(XRD). Cure kinetics of the composites were examined in the context of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and mechanical interfacial properties were investigated in critical stress intensity factor($K_{IC}$) and critical strain energy release rate($G_{IC}$). In the results of XPS and XRD, sodium ion(Na) of zeolite was exchanged for potassium ion(K), resulting from the treatment of KOH. Also, $Si_{2p}/Al{2p}$ composition ratios of the treated zeolite were increased, which could be attributed to the weakening of Al-O bond in framework. Cure activation energy($E_a$) of 15-BZ composites was decreased, whereas KIC and $G_{IC}$ were increased, compared with those of the pure zeolite/DGEBA composites. It was probably accounted that the acidity of zeolite was increased by surface treatments and the cure reaction between zeolite and epoxy was influenced on the increased acidity of zeolite.

  • A cyber crime has been evolving, as other crimes have. Beyond physical damages such as financial crimes in the cyber world, it has evolved into psychological forms like cyber-bullying. In today's crimes, measures that consider psychological effects of crimes are highly regarded in that fear of crime is considered as well as visible crimes. Accordingly, cyber bullying, which causes psychological damages, needs to be treated very importantly. Because the characteristics of cyber crime is caused by different circumstances from the real world, measures should be taken in different aspects. Rather than physical damages, which can be found in the conventional crimes, cyber crimes cause psychological damages, so the effect that has on inflicting should be specified. Especially, in the environment that virtual reality is ubiquitous through smart phones, it is very difficult to establish measures by considering all the causes of general cyber crimes. Therefore, this study estimated what affects cyber bullying by focusing on personalized faith factor among social bond theory, which can control cyber crimes. As a result, self-controling faith was verified to have a negative effect on cyber bullying, so faith is a very important factor in personalized environment. Thus, it is suggested that the characteristics of cyber space and education of humanism, which can affect individuals' faith should be emphasized.

  • A series of experiments on the resuspension of deposited fine-grained sediments were carried out in a recirculating straight flume to investigate the influence of the sediment type, water content and bed shear stress (${\tau}_b$) on the resuspension characteristics of the sediments. The sediments were sampled from Youngkwang coast and Youngdo coast which are located in the western sea and southeastern sea of Korea, respectively. Critical bed shear stress (${\tau}_c$) for resuspension was deduced for each experimental series. For the same sediment, critical bed shear stress for resuspension decreased but suspension mass or rate increased with increasing water content. The resuspension of deposited fine-grained sediments depended strongly on the water content, and the sediment type characterizing the inter-particle bond strength. It has been found that critical bed shear stress for resuspension in the unidirection flow is about 4 times higher than that in the combined wave-current flow, In case of lower bed shear stress, after an initially high suspension, suspension mass approaches a constant value due to the bed hardening with increasing time, but in case of higher bed shear stress, suspension mass increased successively due to the bed softening with time. Initial suspension rate, $E={\alpha}_3({\tau}_b/{\tau}_c-1)^{\beta}$ (where ${\alpha}_3$ and ${\beta}$=empirical constants), was estimated for each experimental series, ${\alpha}_3$ and ${\beta}$ values for the same sediment increased with water content.

  • Purpose: This study evaluated the surface characteristics and bond strength produced using a novel technique for coating hydroxyapatite (HA) onto titanium implants. Methods: HA was coated on the titanium implant surface using a super-high-speed (SHS) blasting method with highly purified HA. The coating was performed at a low temperature, unlike conventional HA coating methods. Coating thickness was measured. The novel HA-coated disc was fabricated. X-ray diffraction analysis was performed directly on the disc to evaluate crystallinity. Four novel HA-coated discs and four resorbable blast medium (RBM) discs were prepared. Their surface roughnesses and areas were measured. Five puretitanium, RBM-treated, and novel HA-coated discs were prepared. Contact angle was measured. Two-way analysis of variance and the post-hoc Scheffe's test were used to analyze differences between the groups, with those with a probability of P<0.05 considered to be statistically significant. To evaluate exfoliation of the coating layer, 7 sites on the mandibles from 7 mongrel dogs were used. Other sites were used for another research project. In total, seven novel HA-coated implants were placed 2 months after extraction of premolars according to the manufacturer's instructions. The dogs were sacrificed 8 weeks after implant surgery. Implants were removed using a ratchet driver. The surface of the retrieved implants was evaluated microscopically. Results: A uniform HA coating layer was formed on the titanium implants with no deformation of the RBM titanium surface microtexture when an SHS blasting method was used. Conclusions: These HA-coated implants exhibited increased roughness, crystallinity, and wettability when compared with RBM implants.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify factors influencing fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture in South Korea. This study employed the two-way fixed effect and random effect models based on the panel models and also the difference between GMM and system GMM models based on the dynamic panel models using the amount of fish farming production, the number of stocked fry, the number of cultured fish, the amount of inputted feed, the farming area, the number of workers, and the sales price data from 2010 to 2017. First, the two-way fixed effect model of the panel models was selected by panel characteristics, time characteristics and Hausman tests and also the model was statistically significant. As a result of the two-way fixed effect model, the number of stocked fry, the amount of inputted feed, and the number of workers were identified as factors that increase the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. However, the number of cultured fish and the sales price were analyzed as factors that reduce the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. Second, the system GMM model of the dynamic panel models was selected by Hansen test and Arellano-Bond test in order to identify whether or not the over-discrimination condition is appropriate. Based on the system GMM model, the number of stocked fry, the amount of inputted feed, the number of workers in this year and 1 year ago, the number of cultured fish 2 years ago, and the sale price 3 years ago were analyzed as factors that increase the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. However, the amount of fish farming production 1, 2, 3 years ago, the farming area in this year, and the number of cultured fish in this year and 1 year ago were identified as factors that reduce the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. In conclusion, this study suggests that it is desirable to control the amount of stocked fry rather than to expand the farming area for fish farming in shallow-sea aquaculture, so as to keep the sale price at a certain level by maintaining the appropriate amount of fish production.

  • In response to the carbon emission reduction trends and the depletion of natural sand caused by the use of cement in construction works, graphene oxide and porous feldspar were applied as countermeasures in this study. By using (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane-functionalized graphene oxide with enhanced bond characteristics, a concrete specimen was prepared with 5% less cement content than that in a standard mortar mix, and the compressive strengths of the specimens were examined. The compressive strengths of the specimen with (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane-functionalized graphene oxide and porous feldspar and the specimen with standard mixing were 26MPa and 28MPa, respectively, showing only a small difference. In addition, both specimens met the compressive strength of cement mortar required for geotechnical structures. It is believed that a reasonable level of compressive strength was maintained in spite of the lower cement content because the high content of pozzolans, namely SiO2 and Al2O3, in the porous feldspar enhanced the reactions with Ca(OH)2 during hydration, the nano-sized graphene surface acted as a reactive surface for the hydration products to react actively, and the strong covalent bonding of the carboxyl functional group increased the bonding strength of the hydration products.
