Purpose: It was investigated whether two different stabilization designs of toric contact lenses changed the rotational axis and degree of toric lenses according to body posture and gaze direction in the present study. Methods: Toric soft contact lenses with Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design and ASD design (accelerated stabilized design) were fitted on 52 eyes aged in 20s-30s. Then, rotational degree was measured at the five gaze directions including front gaze and the lying position. Results: When gazing the front and vertical directions in the upright posture, lens was much rotated to nasal side for the Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design and temporal side for the ASD design. When gazing horizontal direction, both design lenses were rotated against to the gaze direction. Rotation degree was the smallest at superior direction gaze and the largest at nasal gaze. In case of the rotation degree less than $5^{\circ}$, Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design was more frequent when gazing front and vertical directions, and ASD design was more frequent when gazing horizontal direction. In addition, the lens with Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design was lesser rotation degree than with ASD design immediately after lying. On the other hand, the lens with ASD design was lesser rotation degree than with Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design 1 minute later after lying. Conclusions: This study confirmed that axis rotation of the lens induced by gaze direction and posture was different according to axis stabilization design during wearing toric soft contact lens.

This paper presents the leg trajectory generation for the quadruped robot with genetic-fuzzy algorithm. To have the nobility even at uneven terrain, a robot is able to recognize obstacles, and generates moving path of body that can avoid obstacles. This robot should have its own avoidance algorithm against obstacles, forwarding to target without collision. During walking period, n robot recognizes obstacle from external environment with a PSD and some interface, and this obstacle information is converted into proper the body rotation angle by fuzzy inference engine. After this process, we can infer the walking direction and walking distance of body, and finally can generate the optimal Beg trajectory using genetic algorithm. All these methods are verified with PC simulation program, and implemented to SERO-V robot.
The movements of the human body are difficult to capture owing to the complexity of the three-dimensional skeleton model and occlusion problems. In this paper, we propose a motion capture system that tracks dynamic human motions in real time. Without using external markers, the proposed system adopts multiple depth sensors (Microsoft Kinect) to overcome the occlusion and body rotation problems. To combine the joint data retrieved from the multiple sensors, our calibration process samples a point cloud from depth images and unifies the coordinate systems in point clouds into a single coordinate system via the iterative closest point method. Using noisy skeletal data from sensors, a posture reconstruction method is introduced to estimate the optimal joint positions for consistent motion generation. Based on the high tracking accuracy of the proposed system, we demonstrate that our system is applicable to various motion-based training programs in dance and Taekwondo.

A simple and efficient method is presented for the dynamics of interconnected flexible beams having large rigid body rotations. A simple mass matrix is obtained by interpolating the displacements in the global inertia frame, and the elastic force is also simply computed by using linear finite element technique with the moving frame attached to the beam. For the beams connected by revolute joints, kinematic constraints and relative rotations between the beans are not required and the equations of motions are time integrated by a simple ODE technique. Numerical simulations are conducted to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the present technique.

When markers attached to body segment are captured by camera, they generally have many noises due to intrinsic biomechanical characteristics. In this study, one technique to reduce these noises is suggested, which constructs a local coordinates of the markers using time-mean lengths of the measured markers and calculates a linear transformation matrix of the interesting body using least square error technique. This matrix is decomposed into two matrices of rotation and flexibility. Suggested method does well for 3 markers or more, and shows consistent results without regard to choice of reference axis.

The study is about practical use of the computer program developed to obtain more efficient and accurate photographic measurement of body. Measuring measurements automatically using this program, the observational errors can be reduced considerably, so that the accuracy of photographic measurement are improved. The program has several functions as follow; First, free rotation of body by horizontal and perpendicular control of photo data. Second, recognition of body outline of photo data and automatic measuring of 45 basic items as well as freehand measuring of height, width, depth, angle. Third, obtaining database of photographic measurements of each subject without additional process such as data input.

In this paper, the method to register multiple sets of skull CT images to absolute coordinate system is proposed. Contrary to correspondence paired mapping of previous techniques, four anatomical landmark points, three coplanar points and one non-coplanar point, compose three principal axes simple and unique for efficient registration by means of rigid body transformation. Throughout the numerical simulation with added random noises, the error performances in terms of different rotation and rounding-off of landmark points, and incorrect localization of anatomical landmark and target points are quantitatively analyzed to generalize the proposed technique. Experiments using real skull CT images demonstrate the feasibility for an efficient use in clinical practice.
The wing-body trucks are special vehicles that are designed to provide large carrying space and to protect the freights from outside impacts and bad weather. They are constructed to the structure opening and shutting three-layered aluminum top. In the middle- and large-size(above one-ton) wing-body trucks, wing-body is opened/closed by opening and shutting device of oil pressure type. But one-ton truck is constructed that its wing-body is opened/closed in manual to use helping of stay-dampers. So, we developed an electronic opening and shutting device for one-ton wing-body trucks to improve the inconvenience of usage for manually operated wing-body. The developed device is consisted of two connected links and a dc motor combined with an worm gear. The worm gear changes the rotation axis of the dc motor to a right-angled direction and transfers the torque of dc motor to the links. The two connected links open/shut the wing-body using the torque transferred from the dc motor. When the wing-body starts to be opened, the biggest torque is required from the dc motor for opening the wing-body. And as the wing-body is opened more and more, the required torque is smaller for opening the wing-body. Thus, the structure of two connected links are designed to locate at the center of worm gear so that maximum torque of the dc motor is transferred the links at the initial time starting to open wing-body. The controller of the device with open and closed buttons also is designed to protect the device from over-opening and over shutting operations. The developed device is accomplished for many experiments using actual vehicle. Those experiments show that the device has more excellent performance than the oil pressure type.
The purpose of this study is to analyze lower body types of women and provide information of body improvement of Korean adult female clothing product to ready-made clothes companies. As for the method of this study, it was conducted to measure the parts of the lower body of adult women at the age from 19 to 24 years, to analyze their characteristics and to categorize body types. For study, it was measured 150 female women in Seoul. Data was analyzed by used SPSS/WIN 19.0 Program. The results of this study are as follows. The means of the subjects in their early 20s are 159.8cm in height, 67.0cm in waist circumference, 91.6cm in hip and 52.0kg in weight. As a result of comparison with the $5^{th}$ Korean's human body size on measurement data, 20 items out of 33 items showed significant difference. Factor analysis was executed for 66 body measure and calculation items to draw the body construction factors of the women's lower body in their early 20s and principal component analysis was performed by orthogonal varimax rotation to clarify the measurement of factors and to derive explanatory factors. As result of Cluster analysis, body types' characteristics divide into 3 types. Type1 has tall and fat body form, type2 has shortest and curvy body form and type3 has average height and the most skinny body form.
This paper presents the tangent stiffness method for 3-D geometrically nonlinear folding analysis of a reversal arch. Experimental tests are conducted to verify the numerical analysis. The tangent stiffness method can accurately evaluate the geometrical nonlinearity due to the element translating as a rigid body, and the method can exactly handle the large rotation of the element in space. The arch in the experiment is made from a thin flat bar, and it is found that the folding process of the arch may be captured exactly by the numerical analysis with a model consisting of only 18 elements with the same properties.
