도시폐기물 소각공장에서의 다이옥신 배출특성(I) - 방지시설의 영향 - (Emission Characteristics of PCDD/Fs in MSW Incinerator(I) - The Effect of Air Pollution Control Device -)

  • 본 연구는 도시폐기물 소각장 배출가스 중의 다이옥신 배출특성을 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 소각로 내의 각 방지장치에서 측정된 결과에 의하면, 촉매반응탑 입구에서 가장 많은 양의 다이옥신이 측정되었다. 따라서 전기집진기는 다이옥신이 생성되는데 적당한 조건을 제공하는 것으로 보인다. 다이옥신 농도는 계절에 따라 큰 차이를 보여 겨울에 측정된 다이옥신 농도가 가을 보다 높았는데, 도시폐기물의 조성, 소각로 운전조건 등이 다이옥신 생성에 영향을 주고 있음을 제시해 준다.

  • It is the most important subject to figure out characteristics of the wastewater inflows of sewerage treatment plant(STP) when situation models are applied to operation of the biological processes and in the automatic control based on ICA(Instrument, Control and Automation). For the purposes, real-time influent monitoring method has been applied by using on-line monitoring equipments for the process optimization in conventional STP. Since, the influent of STP is consist of complex components such as, COD, BOD, TN, $NH_4$-N, $NO_3$-N, TP and $PO_4$-P. MRA2(Microbial Respiration Analyzer 2), which is capable of real-time analyzing of wastewater characteristics is used to overcome the limitations and defects of conventional online monitoring equipments in this study. Rapidity, accuracy and stability of developed MRA2 are evaluated and compared with the results from on-line monitoring equipments for seven months after installation in Full-scale STP.

불소화 처리된 페놀계 활성탄소를 이용한 톨루엔 가스흡착 특성 (Adsorption Characteristics of Toluene Gas Using Fluorinated Phenol-based Activated Carbons)

  • 휘발성 유기화합물(Volatile organic compounds, VOCs) 중 톨루엔 가스의 흡착특성을 향상시키기 위하여 불소화 반응을 이용하여 활성탄소를 처리하였다. 이 활성탄소의 기공특성과 표면특성 평가를 위하여 비표면적 측정기와 X선광전자분광법(XPS)을 사용하여 분석하였고, 가스크로마토그래피를 이용하여 톨루엔 가스 흡착능과 제거효율을 고찰하였다. 100 ppm의 톨루엔 가스가 $300cm^3/min$으로 주입될 때, 불소화 처리된 활성탄소의 파과시간이 미처리 활성탄소에 비하여 약 27% 증가하였다. 0.1 g의 불소처리 활성탄소 흡착재는 19 h의 흡착시간 동안 100 ppm 농도의 톨루엔 가스를 모두 제거하였다. 이러한 실험 결과들은 톨루엔과 같은 발암성 물질을 제거하는 처리 기술로 활용될 수 있음을 보여주었다.

대전광역시 옥상녹화 지역의 식생현황 및 토양환경 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on vegetation and soil environmental characteristics of green roof in Daejeon Metropolitan City)

  • This study was to analyze the soil environmental characteristics and vegetation status of green roof in Daejeon Metropolitan City. The investigated floras of vascular plants are 17 families, 26 genera, 28 species in Seo-Gu Daejeon District Office Building (SG), 25 families, 49 genera, 56 species in Galma Public Library (GP), and 34 families, 57 genera, 60 species in Daejeon City Hall (DC) respectively. Although the larger area shows the more numbers of species in introduced plants and naturalized plant, the naturalized plant ratios were similar with each other. They were 10.71%, 10.71%, and 11.67% at SG, GP, and DC respectively. As a result of analysis on soil physical property, soil depths including vegetation soil and drainage soil of 3 green roofs were 30cm. The depths of vegetation soil at SG, GP, and DC were 0~8cm, 0~10cm, 0~10cm respectively. As a results of soil chemical properties of our study, soil pH of vegetation soil and drainage soil were a range of 6.42 and 7.43, and a range of 6.55 and 7.43 on the average respectively. Available-P contents of vegetation soil and drainage soil were a range of 153.33 and 366.33mg/kg, and a range of 136.67 and 242.67 mg/kg which is very high, respectively. Carbon contents in soil at vegetation soil and drainage soil were a range of 3.16 and 6.38%, and a range of 1.63 and 2.47% respectively. Carbon storage per square meter within 30 cm were 2.76 kg, 2.99 kg, and 3.66 kg at SG, GP, and DC respectively.

제주도 숨은물벵뒤 습지 서식 Alphaproteobacteria 및 Gammaproteobacteria 강에 속하는 신변이주의 특성 (Novel Taxa Belonging to the Class Alphaproteobacteria, and Gammaproteobacteria, Isolated from the Sumunmulbengdui Wetland Area of Jeju Island)

  • 제주도 한라산에 위치한 국내 최대규모의 고산습지인 숨은물벵뒤 습지의 Alphaproteobacteria와 Gammaproteobacteria강에 속하는 세균 종의 다양성을 조사하였고, 신분류군 후보 균주 19종을 확보하였다. 신종후보 균주의 16S rRNA 유전자 염기서열을 분석하였을 때 표준균주와 98.7% 미만의 유사도를 보이는 균주들을 신종후보균주로 간주하였다. 총 19종의 세균이 Alphaproteobacteria와 Gammaproteobacteria 강에 속하는 신종후보 균주들로 발견되었다. Alphaproteobacteria 강에 속하는 균주들은 Sphingomonadaceae 과 Novosphingobium 속에 속하는 4종과 Rhizobiaceae 과 Rhizobium 속에 속하는 2종이 분리되었다. Gammaproteobacteria 강에 속하는 균주들은 Moraxellaceae 과 Acinetobacter 속에 속하는 2종, Pseudomonadaceae과 Pseudomonas 속에 속하는 3종, Enterobacteriaceae과의 Enterobacter 속에 속하는 1종, Erwinia 속의 2종, Leclercia 속의 1종, Rahnella 속의 1종, Serratia속의 1종, Yersinia 속의 2종이 분리되었다. 분리된 19개 후보신종에 대하여 배양학적 특징, 생리화학적 특징 및 지방산 분석 결과를 정리하였다.

Ecological Niche Overlap and Competition between Quercus mongolica and Quercus dentata Under Soil Water Gradient

  • Q. mongolica and Q. dentata are representative species of deciduous forest communities in Korea and are known to be relatively resistant to soil drying condition among Korean oaks. This study attempted to elucidate the degree of competition and ecological niche characteristics of the two species by comparing the ecological responses of the two species according to soil moisture. Competition between Q. mongolica and Q. dentata was shown to be more intense under the conditions where moisture content was low than under the conditions where moisture content was high. As for the ecological niche overlaps of the two species for soil moisture, the structural traits of plant such as stem diameter overlapped the most, the traits of biomass such as petiole weight overlapped the least, and photosynthetic organ-related traits such as leaf width and length overlapped intermediately. When looking at the competition for soil moisture between the two species, it can be seen that Q. mongolica won in nine traits (leaf width length, leaf lamina length, leaf lamina weight, leaf petiole weight, leaf area, leaves weight, shoot weight, root weight, and plant weight) and Q. dentata won in the remaining seven traits (leaf petiole length, leaves number, stem length, stem diameter, stem weight, shoot length, and root length). Competition between the two species for the moisture environment of the soil was shown to be intense under the conditions where moisture content was low. The degree of competition between Q. dentata and Q. mongolica for soil moisture is high under the conditions where soil moisture content is low, and it is judged that Q. mongolica is more competitive for soil moisture than Q. dentata.

탐진강 하구역의 생물다양성과 생태적 특성 분석 연구 (Analysis of Biodiversity and Ecological Characteristics on Tamjin-river Estuarine Ecosytem)

  • 본 연구는 탐진강 하구역 생물군집의 군집 동태 및 분포 조건을 통해 기수지역 생태계 관리의 기초정보를 제공하기 위해 각 분류군별 전문가들이 정밀 조사한 결과를 분석하였다. 식생을 포함한 총 11개 생물 분류군에 대한 생물종의 다양성, 풍부성, 상관관계 및 생태적 특성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 식생은 하천의 물리적 환경과 염도 등 서식처 환경조건에 따라 7개 상관형에 18개 단위식생의 분포가 확인 되었다. 생물종 다양성은 멸종위기야생생물 9분류군을 포함해 총 1,125개 분류군이 확인되었다. 각 분류군별 종조성과 분포 특성은 넓은 구간에 걸쳐 형성되는 자연성 높은 기수역의 하구역 특성을 잘 반영하고 있었다. 특히, 하천을 중심으로 유속과 염도, 토성 등 기반환경 차이에 따른 종다양성과 그 분포가 뚜렷하게 구분되었다. 일부구간에 분포하는 물막이보, 인공제방과 같은 인위적 교란요소에도 불구하고 현재의 환경조건 하에서 생물종의 다양성과 그 분포는 전반적으로 자연성 높은 것으로 평가되었다. 그러나 물막이보, 간척, 주기적인 제방관리, 경작지 확장 등에 의한 야생생물의 서식처 소실과 축소, 생태계 연결성 단절 등은 지역 생태계의 다양성과 건강성을 위협하는 주요 요인으로 지목되었다. 탐진강 하구역의 생물 분포 현황과 그 특성을 규명하는 최초의 정밀조사로서 탐진강을 비롯한 하구역에 대한 각종 개발압력 및 훼손 위기에 대응 할 수 있는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

아세트 알데히드 공장 폐수의 특성 및 화학적 처리 (Studies on the Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Characteristics from Acetaldehyde)

  • As a research for treatment of wastewater from acetaldehyde plant by biological method, we investigated general characteristics of the wastewater as well as the effect of coagulants. COD and BOD of the wastewater were 5260 ppm and 6452 ppm, respectively, and pH was 1.86. COD and BOD of the wastewater were 214, 000ppm and 15190ppm, respectively, and pH was 2.4. And the main organic componnt in wastewater were acetic acid were contained 6.76 % and 14.5 %, respectively. FeSO$_{4}$ as the coagulated was the most effective. The COD removal rate was reached to maximum state by supplementing 1200 ppm FeSO$_{4}$ and pH 9.5.

Wastewater process modeling

  • Wastewater process models are the essential tools for understanding relevant aspects of wastewater treatment system. Wastewater process modeling provides more options for upgrades and better understanding of new plant design, as well as improvements of operational controls. The software packages (BioWin, GPS-X, Aqua designer, etc) solve a series of simulated equations simultaneously in order to propose several solutions for a specific facility. Research and implementation of wastewater process modeling in combination with computational fluid dynamics enable testing for improvements of flow characteristics for WWTP and at the same time exam biological, physical, and chemical characteristics of the flow. Application of WWTP models requires broad knowledge of the process and expertise in modeling. Therefore, an efficient and good modeling practice requires both experience and set of proper guidelines as a background.

  • As the quality of raw water deteriorates, a number of additional treatment techniques have been developed and adapted to water treatment for producing a safe and aesthetically satisfactory drinking water. So, BACFB process as pretreatment in water supply is to be effective to remove dissolved organics. This study performed to find out the effects of HRT and hydraulic characteristics on BACFB reactors in water supply. The flow type in reactor was a high dispersion with complete mixing. As superficial velocity was increased, bed expansion was closed to theoretical values. It was considered that below 30 min HRT could operated to ensure the removal of dissolved organics.
