The mutation operation is the main operation in the evolutionary programming which has been widely used for the optimization of real valued function. In general, the mutation operation utilizes both a probability distribution and its parameter to change values of variables, and the parameter itself is subject to its own mutation operation which requires other parameters. However, since the optimal values of the parameters entirely depend on a given problem, it is rather hard to find an optimal combination of values of parameters when there are many parameters in a problem. To solve this shortcoming at least partly, if not entirely, in this paper, we propose a new mutation operation in which the parameter for the variable mutation is theoretically estimated from the self-adaptive perspective. Since the proposed algorithm estimates the scale parameter of the Cauchy probability distribution for the mutation operation, it has an advantage in that it does not require another mutation operation for the scale parameter. The proposed algorithm was tested against the benchmarking problems. It turned out that, although the relative superiority of the proposed algorithm from the optimal value perspective depended on benchmarking problems, the proposed algorithm outperformed for all benchmarking problems from the perspective of the computational time.

The number of claims and disputes among project participants has been steadily increasing last a few years and it creates numerous conflicts and problems in the domestic construction industry. One of the root causes of claims and disputes can be explained by the fact that project objectives of participants are offer different and not aligned. This research is considered as a pre-study of developing a strategy to mitigate conflicts such as claims and disputes in the domestic construction industry by utilizing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) techniques. This research focused on improving standard contrast documents to establish a systematic dispute resolution process which emphasize the ADR method. To do so, several well-recognized contract documents developed by FIDIC, AIA, ECC were throughly investigated and analyzed using a benchmarking process. Result of the research propose needs of improving the domestic construction document's some clauses and the details will be further Investigated through surveys and expert's opinions.

Cycling that transform human energy into mechanical energy is one of the man-machine systems out of sports fields. Benchmarking means " improving ourselves by learning from others ", therefore benchmarking toward dominant cyclist is necessary on field. the goals of this study were to provide important factors on multi-disciplines (kinematics, physiology, power, psychology) for a tailored-training program that is suitable to individual characteristics. Two cyclist participated in this study and gave consent to the experimental procedure. one was dominant cyclist (years:21 yrs, height:177 cm, mass:70 kg), and the other was non-dominant cyclist(years:21, height:176, mass:70). Kinematic data were recorded using six infrared cameras (240Hz) and QTM (software). Physiological data (VO2max, AT) were acquired according to graded exercising test with cycle ergometer and power with Wingate test used by Bar-Or et. al ( 1977) and to evaluate muscle function with Cybex. Psychological data were collected with competitive state anxiety inventory (CSAI-2) that were devised by Martens et. al (1990) and with athletes' self-management questionnaire (ASMQ) of Huh (2003). It appears that the dominant's CV(coefficient of variability) was higher than non-dominant's CV in Sports Biomechanics domain, that the dominant's values for all factors ware higher than non-dominant's values in physical, and physiological domain, and their values between cognitive anxiety and somatic anxiety were contrary to each other in psychology. Further research on multi-disciplines may lead to the development of tailored-optimal training programs applicable with key factors to enhance athletic performance by means of research including athlete, coach and parents.

In globalization and information-oriented society, the domestic construction companies are competing with others in domestic and overseas market. To survive in the age of limitless competition, companies have to manage their performance systematically. However, domestic small and medium-sized companies which are holding a large majority don't have their own Performance Management System(PMS) yet. The purpose of this study is to analyze the existing PMS and to extract key drivers for developing PMS. Through case studies of KPI(UK), NBS(Chile), CII BM&M(USA) and SISIND-NET Project(Brazil), the key drivers are derived. Having these key drivers, this study suggested the conceptual model of PMS using benchmarking for small and medium-sized construction companies.

Rail transit agencies in Korea have been struggling to set up a performance-based rail facility maintenance plan because there are no formal definition and decision criteria for aging infrastructure. This study investigates the definition of aging infrastructure through extensive literature review and identifies benchmarking criteria through comparison with rail transit facility management systems in Korea and United States. As results, an aging infrastructure should be defined considering both service age and performance level of a facility. The priority of repair/replacement should be also determined with reasonable criteria based on relationship between service age and performance level. To determine the definition and decision criteria, a practicable classification system for aging rail transit needs to be established in accordance with classification system for performance assessment. Furthermore, a comprehensive database needs to be built including useful life, performance level, and maintenance cost of each component of rail transit. It will allow establishing an efficient budget execution plan for aging infrastructure.

As the communication industry develops, the development of SoC (System on Chip) is increasing. Accordingly, the paradigm of technology design of industries and companies is changing. In the existing process, companies purchased micro-architecture, but now they purchase ISA (Instruction Set Architecture), and companies design the architecture themselves. RISC-V is an open instruction set based on a reduced instruction set computer. RISC-V is equipped with ISA, which can be expanded through modularization, and an expanded version of ISA is currently being developed through the support of global companies. In this paper, we present benchmarking frameworks ARIA, LEA, and PIPO of Korean block ciphers in RISC-V. We propose implementation methods and discuss performance by utilizing the basic instruction set and features of RISC-V.
It is desirable to use a monthly benchmarked construction indicator which contains the characteristics of statistical data in an annual survey in order to analyze the cyclical phenomenon of the construction activity. The benchmarked indicator is expected to improve the data quality in terms of accuracy, consistency, comparability, and completeness. In this paper, benchmarking methodologies of compiling monthly construction indicators arc researched by using a monthly prompt data holding short - term fluctuations and an annual survey data regarded as more accurate statistics than monthly data. The benchmarking is the methodology by which a high frequency data should he adjusted in order to hold the short-term and cyclical phenomena, and the long - term trend of two data groups with ensuring the consistency of an annual summation between a high frequency data and a low frequency data. This paper considered the numerical approach like pro rata distribution method, proportional Denton method, EFL or HP filter Benchmark - to - Indicator ratio method, and the model - based approach such as Chow and Lin method, $Fem{\acute{a}}ndez$ method. Also, the benchmarked construction indicators were estimated by early mentioned benchmarking methods with practical data, and these methods were empirically reviewed and compared. In case of construction indicators with severe seasonal fluctuations and irregulars, the numerical approach seemed to be performed more correctly than the model- based approach. Among numerical methods, the proportional Denton method used in general was a little nice. The HP filter Benchmark - to - Indicator ratio method may be considered with survey errors or measurement errors in an annual survey data.

Recently, the integrated management of the quantity and quality of water was been derived by the Ministry of Environment in Korea. This reconstruction in the national government organization can be recognized as the major politic measure. For this IWRM (Integrated Water Resources Management), it is necessary to be able to fairly distribute, operate and manage water resources in a situation where related techniques are needed to fully support, such as measuring exactly the demand and supply of water resources. The reason why IWRM is difficult, despite the development of related technologies, is because the management entities are highly diverse and their interests are much complicated. Thus, this study is tried to suggest specific improvement for current policies by benchmarking the KPX (Korea Power Exchange). In the field of water management as similar to the electric industry, there is an essential need for a working-level organization that can manage, control, monitor, and regulate water resources with practical and plenipotentiary control like the non-profit organization, KPX. Such time has come for decisive policy changes through benchmarking the structure, system, productivity, and challenges of the electricity industry in the water policy.
This paper proposes service layout strategy considering service characteristics by the use of benchmarking production system such as layout by P-Q chart, improvement tool, automated system, Toyota production system and lean production system. This paper represents operation methodology of statistical process control using control chart for service performance outcomes.
This study was performed to suggest a new efficiency measurement indicator is necessary for evaluating management efficiency of food service operations in contract-managed foodservice companies, to distinguish efficient food service providers and inefficient ones by measuring comparative efficiency among food service operations, and to provide guidance for effective management through showing benchmarking targets for improving inefficient food service providers. The subjects of this study were the 93 B&I foodservice Operations of a domestic contract food service company. The analysis was conducted using CCR model in DEA model. A software, 'Frontier analyst', was used for the analysis. Based on the results derived from comparison of efficiency evaluation classified by providers with use of DEA, it was possible to identify efficient food providers and inefficient providers, and subsequently provide benchmarking guidelines for improvement of the inefficient groups. In analyzing the differences between the results of DEA efficiency evaluation by detailed operation status of food service providers, there was significant difference of efficiency outcomes in terms of contract types, while there was no significant difference in terms of business condition.
