This study investigates the multi-dimensional structure of fashion store window creativity and examines its effects on consumer responses. Through an expert evaluation survey, this study proposes that fashion store window creativity involves originality, relevance, and artistry. Two experiments are conducted to test the proposed hypotheses. Consumers' emotional responses to the level of window creativity are collected using psychophysiological and self-report methods. Fashion store window creativity has positive effects on psychophysiological affective responses. When the three dimensions of creativity are specified as explanatory factors of emotional responses, relevance and artistry show positive effects on arousal and pleasure, whereas originality has a negative effect on pleasure. Its effect on attitudes is mediated by arousal and pleasure; in addition, the effect on entering intentions is mediated by arousal. Attitudes toward window display also have a positive effect on entering intentions. This study extends existing research on creativity in marketing into the context of visual merchandising in fashion store windows. Findings provide meaningful implications in that the effects of fashion store window creativity on emotions affect consumer attitudes and behavioral intention. By adopting multiple approaches in the empirical phase of this study, the findings are built on strong reliability and validity.
The purpose of this study was to analyze decision-making regarding ship finance term selection from the behavioral finance perspective and to confirm if the causes and backgrounds of decision-making related to the term selection of ship finance are explicitly explained by behavioral finance theories. Additionally, through a case study, this study infers if decisions are irrational. Narrative and questionnaire responses on the selection of the ship finance period were obtained and analyzed from the behavioral finance perspective. Some shipping companies incur additional losses by choosing inappropriate ship-financing terms. This study applied behavioral finance theories, such as the certainty effect, availability heuristic, and loss aversion, to clearly explain the causes and background of such decision-making. Based on the results, it was found that behavioral finance theories impact ship financing decisions and errors related to behavioral finance can result in irrational decisions. Ship finance managers must be vigilant in preventing behavioral finance errors that can affect the decision-making term of ship finance.
The present study was performed to investigate the effects of intra-articular injection of interleukin-1${\beta}$ (IL-1${\beta}$) on the formalin-induced temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain. Under anesthesia, a 30-gauge needle was introduced into the right TMJ region for injection of formalin. Microinjection of 50 ${\mu}l$ of 5% formalin significantly produced noxious scratching behavioral response, and the scratching behavior lasted for 40 min. Although the responses produced by formalin injection were divided into two phases, the response of 1st phase did not significantly differ from the scratching behavior response in the saline-treated group. We examined the effects of intra-articular injection of IL-1${\beta}$ on the number of noxious behavioral responses produced by 50${\mu}l$ of 5% formalin injection. Intra-articular injection of 100 pg and 1 ng of IL-1${\beta}$ significantly increased the number of behavioral responses of the 2nd phase, while 10 pg of IL-1${\beta}$ did not change the formalin-induced behavioral responses. To investigate whether IL-1 receptor was involved in the intra-articular administration of IL-1${\beta}$-induced hyperalgesic response, IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL- ra, 50 ng) was administrated together with IL-1${\beta}$ injection. IL-1${\beta}$ receptor antagonist blocked IL-1${\beta}$- induced hyperalgesic response in the TMJ formalin test. These results suggest that intra-articular injection of IL-1${\beta}$ facilitated the transmission of nociceptive information in the TMJ area.

The present study was to evaluate effects of vitamin E on intravenous administration of lidocaine-induced antinociception. Experiments were carried out using male Sprague-Dawley rats. Orofacial formalin-induced nociceptive behavioral responses were used as the orofacial animal pain model. Subcutaneous injection of formalin produced significant nociceptive scratching behavior. Intraperitoneal injection of 5 and 10 mg/kg of lidocaine attenuated formalin-induced nociceptive behavior in the 2nd phase, compared to the vehicle-treated group. Intraperitoneal injection of 1 g/kg of vitamin E also attenuated the formalin-induced nociceptive behavior in the 2nd phase, compared to the vehicle-treated group. However, low dose of vitamin E (0.5 g/kg) did not affect the nociceptive behavioral responses produced by subcutaneous injection of formalin. The present study also investigated effects of intraperitoneal injection of both vitamin E and lidocaine on orofacial formalin-induced behavioral responses. Vehicle treatment affected neither formalin-induced behavioral responses nor lidocaine-induced antinociceptive effects. However, intraperitoneal injection of 0.5 g/kg of vitamin E enhanced the lidocaine-induced antinociceptive effects in the 2nd phase compared to the vehicle-treated group. Intraperitoneal injection of naloxone, an opioid receptor antagonist, did not affect antinociception produced by intraperitoneal injections of both vitamin E and lidocaine. These results suggest that treatment with vitamin E enhances the systemic treatment with lidocaine-induced antinociception and reduces side effects when systemically treated with lidocaine. Therefore, the combined treatment with vitamin E and lidocaine is a potential therapeutic for chronic orofacial pain.

The purpose of this study was to identify the difference on the consumer's cognitive response, emotional and behavioral response in regard of the in-store shopping environment according to their apparel shopping orientation. The subjects of this study were consumers who finished shopping in the stores, and 300 questionnaires were completed. Data collected in this survey were analyzed by using Factor analysis, Cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and Duncan test as a post identification. The results were as follows; 1. A significant difference was found on cognitive responses in regard of the in-store environment, such as a store atmosphere, salespeople, the assortment of products, and the fashion of products, according to types of apparel shopping orientation. The hedonic shopping type tended to have the higher evaluation toward a store atmosphere and salespeople than did other types. 2. Results showed statistically significant differences on emotional responses such as the outward/inward pleasure and outward/inward displeasure of the in-store shopping environment according to apparel shopping orientation types. The outward pleasure was found most highly in the high involvement shopping type. 3. There were significant differences on behavioral responses of the in-store shopping environment, such as the shopping satisfaction, the store revisit intention, recommending to others, and the unexpected consumption, according to apparel shopping orientation types.
This study is to learn if and how company-consumer identification in regard of Chinese consumers influences the consumers' behavioral responses with their evaluation on Korean products. To be learned also is differential influences on company-consumer identification generated by two different factors of corporate image, which are corporate ability and corporate social responsibility, through Structural Equation Modeling. The results obtained by actual analysis are as follows. First, both corporate ability and corporate social responsibility turn out to be positively influential on company-consumer identification. Second, the company-consumer identification as to the Korean companies displayed by Chinese consumers induces positive influences on Korean products, which in turn induces positive influences on Chinese consumers' behavioral responses. These results suggest that in the future the Korean companies already settled in China not only need to enhance corporate ability but also have to give efforts on corporate social responsibility in order to improve their continuous and long-term relationship with Chinese consumers.
This study presented a development of a phototactic apparatus for pest monitoring. We carried out behavioral experiment against various pest species by using the phototactic chamber. Consequently, the phototactic apparatus was confirmed suitable result of behavioral experiment. Therefore, we believed that the test apparatus help to understand the phototactic responses of various pests.

Methamphetamine is a powerful stimulant that appears to produce locomotor activity and behavioral sensitization. Previous study has indicated that dopaminergic receptors are implicated in the behavioral responses of methamphetamine. Recently, it has been reported that other receptors, especially, M1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (M1R) plays an important role in the regulation of behavioral responses, and this receptor is abundantly expressed in brain regions, including the cerebral cortex, striatum, and the hippocampus of the animal. Anxiety in mice can be measured by behavioral reactivity to social or non-social stressors. These behaviors were compared by performing the resident-intruder test (social) as well as the light-dark transition and open-field tests (non-social) for the FVB, C57BL/6, and BALB/c lines of mouse. The three inbred lines showed significant differences in their responses to intruder mice. Three factors, accounting for about 68% of the total variance, were extracted from the scores obtained from the three behavioral tests. The first two major factors are primarily associated with the anxiety-related behaviors. One includes anxiety behaviors with a locomotive basis, while the other includes defecation measured in both anxiety tests. The third factor explains the three social behaviors, facial investigation, ano-genital investigation, and following, observed in the resident intruder test, although facial investigation is also moderately associated with the second factor. The results indicate that the behavioral responses to an intruder share a component distinct from anxiety-related behaviors.
This study was performed to investigate the effect of kangaroo care on body weight, physiological responses and behavioral states in premature infants. The subjects were 32 premature infants, fifteen for the kangaroo care group and seventeen for the control group, who hospitalized in a neonatal intensive care unit at a university-affiliated hospital. The kangaroo care was applied 8 times during the twenty five days with 40 minutes for each session. The kangaroo care provides the skin-to-skin contact during which a premature infant wearing a diaper and a hat is placed on its mother's chest. As for the measures, body weight was measured everyday. The levels of epinephrine, norepinephrine and 17-OHCS were measured twice, before beginning the first intervention and after finishing the last intervention. While each session of the care is undergoing, such physiological responses were measured periodically as heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen saturation, core temperature and skin temperature. The results were as follows : 1. The weight gain was significantly greater in the kangaroo care group than that in the control group during the period of performing the kangaroo care. 2. No significant difference was revealed between the two groups in heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen saturation and core temperature. The kangaroo care group also showed significant increases in the skin temperature. 3. The differences in the levels of epinephrine, norepinephrine and 17-OHCS were not significant between the kangaroo care and the control groups. The level of norepinephrine in the two groups was significantly increased over time. 4. Sleep pattern changed significantly in the kangaroo group from a very restless sleep to a very quiet sleep. These results suggest that kangaroo care is an effective nursing intervention for premature infants in gaining weight, achieving stable physiological responses and facilitating a quiet sleep.
