In this paper, we establish a number system in $R^n$ which arises from a Haar wavelet basis in connection with decompositions of certain Cuntz algebra representations on $L^2$( $R^n$). Number systems in $R^n$ are also of independent interest [9]. We study radix-representations of $\chi$$\in$$R^n$: $\chi$:$\alpha$$_{ι}$$\alpha$$_{ι-1}$…$\alpha$$_1$$\alpha$$_{0}$ ㆍ$\alpha$$_{-1}$$\alpha$$_{-2}$ … as $\chi$= $M^{ι}$$\alpha$$_{ι}$$\alpha$+…M$\alpha$$_1$+$\alpha$$_{0}$ + $M^{-1}$$\alpha$$_{-1}$ + $M^{-2}$$\alpha$$_{-2}$ +… where each $\alpha$$_{k}$$\in$ D, and D is some specified digit set. Our analysis uses iteration techniques of a number-theoretic flavor. The view-point is a dual one which we term fractals in the large vs. fractals in the small, illustrating the number theory of integral lattice points vs. fractions.s vs. fractions.

Since its inception in 2009, medical tourism in South Korea has continued to progress. Reaching its peak in 2019, the industry experienced a sharp decline in inbound patients after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 due to international border closures and a surge in patient numbers. However, from 2021 onwards, there has been a gradual increase in inbound patients. The purpose of this study was to classify the top 12 countries based on the number of actual patients entering the country from 2014 to 2022, using statistics from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute. It also analyzed the changes in the number of foreign patients visiting Korea and the evolving proportion of actual patients compared to short-term visa arrivals on a yearly basis. Through this content, we aim to examine the trends on a country-by-country basis and identify the direction in which the future of South Korean medical tourism should progress. By focusing on healthcare, we intend to pinpoint areas that require attention and improvement, as well as highlight any existing issues. Through modifications and enhancements based on these considerations, we aspire to attract a significant number of foreign patients, thereby promoting South Korea's medical technology on a global scale.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of different numbers of basis images and the use of metal artifact reduction (MAR) on the production and reduction of artifacts in cone-beam computed tomography images. Materials and Methods: An acrylic resin phantom with a metal alloy sample was scanned, with 450 or 720 basis images and with or without MAR. Standard deviation values for the test areas (around the metal object) were obtained as a way of measuring artifact production. Two-way analysis of variance was used with a 5% significance level. Results: There was no significant difference in artifact production among the images obtained with different numbers of basis images without MAR (P=.985). MAR significantly reduced artifact production in the test areas only in the protocol using 720 basis images (P=.017). The protocol using 450 basis images with MAR showed no significant difference in artifact production when compared to the protocol using 720 basis images with MAR (P=.579). Conclusion: Protocols with a smaller number of basis images and with MAR activated are preferable for minimizing artifact production in tomographic images without exposing the patient to a greater radiation dose.
In the previous study, the Haar wavelet was used as the sole basis function for the 3D discrete wavelet transform because the number of bands is too small to decompose a remotely sensed image in band direction with other basis functions. However, it is possible to use other basis functions for wavelet decomposition in horizontal and vertical directions because wavelet decomposition is independently performed in each direction. This study aims to classify a high spatial resolution image with the six types of basis function including the Haar function and to compare those results. The other wavelets are more helpful to classify high resolution imagery than the Haar wavelet. In overall accuracy, the Coif4 wavelet has the best result. The improvement of classification accuracy is different depending on the type of class and the type of wavelet. Using the basis functions with long length could be effective for improving accuracy in classification, especially for the classes of small area. This study is expected to be used as fundamental information for selecting optimal basis function according to the data properties in the 3D DWT based image classification.
This paper is a continuation of the recent development on the hermite-based divergence free basis function and deals with a non-isothermal fluid flow thru the buoyancy driven flow in a square cavity with temperature difference across the two sides. The basis functions for the velocities consist of the hermite function and its curl. However, the basis for the temperature are the hermite function and its gradienst. Hence, the number of degrees of freedom at a node becomes 6, which are the stream function, two velocities, the temperature and its x- and y-derivatives. Numerical results for the streamlines, the temperatures, the x-velocities and the y-velocities show good agreements with those of De vahl Davis[7].

When a feasible solution approaches to the optimal extreme point in Karmakar's algorithm, components of the search direction vector for a solution converge at a certain value according to the corresponding columns of the optimal basis and the optimal nonbasis. By using this convergence properties of Karmarkar's algorithm, we can identify columns of the optimal basis before the final stage of the algorithm. The complexity of Karmarker's algorithm with newly proposed termination criterion does not increase. A numerical experiments for the problems which were generated by random numbers are also illustrated. Experimental results show that the number of iterations required for determining columns of the optimal basis depends on problems. For all cases, however, columns of the optimal basis are exactly verified when this termination criterion is used.

Utilizing dual basis, normal basis, and subfield representation, three different finite field multipliers are presented in this paper. First, we propose an extended dual basis multiplier based on Berlekamp's bit-serial multiplication algorithm. Second, a detailed explanation and design of the Massey-Omura multiplier based on a normal basis representation is described. Third, the multiplication algorithm over GF(($2^{n}$) utilizing subfield is proposed. Especially, three different multipliers are designed over the finite field GF(($2^{4}$) and the complexity of each multiplier is compared with that of others. As a result of comparison, we recognize that the extendd dual basis multiplier requires the smallest number of gates, whereas the subfield multiplier, due to its regularity, simplicity, and modularlity, is easier to implement than the others with respect to higher($m{\ge}8$) order and m/2 subfield order.
It is demonstrated by using a highly positive uranium ion as a test case that the exact relation between the small and the large components of a Dirac spinor in relativistic self-consistent-field (RSCF) calculations is not fully satisfied by the kinetic balance condition only even for two electron systems. For a fixed number of large component basis functions, total energies are sensitive to the change of the size of the small component basis sets even after the kinetic balance condition is fully satisfied. However, the kinetic balance condition appears to be a reasonable guideline in generating reliable and practical basis sets for most applications of RSCF calculations. With a complete small component basis set, energies from RSCF calculations exhibit a variational behavior, implying the stability of the present RSCF procedure.

In this paper, we introduce a new topology of Radial Basis Function-based Polynomial Neural Networks (RPNN) that is based on a genetically optimized multi-layer perceptron with Radial Polynomial Neurons (RPNs). This study offers a comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of optimization algorithms, especially Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms. In contrast to the typical architectures encountered in Polynomial Neural Networks (PNNs), our main objective is to develop a design strategy of RPNNs as follows : (a) The architecture of the proposed network consists of Radial Polynomial Neurons (RPNs). In here, the RPN is fully reflective of the structure encountered in numeric data which are granulated with the aid of Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method. The RPN dwells on the concepts of a collection of radial basis function and the function-based nonlinear (polynomial) processing. (b) The PSO-based design procedure being applied at each layer of RPNN leads to the selection of preferred nodes of the network (RPNs) whose local characteristics (such as the number of input variables, a collection of the specific subset of input variables, the order of the polynomial, and the number of clusters as well as a fuzzification coefficient in the FCM clustering) can be easily adjusted. The performance of the RPNN is quantified through the experimentation where we use a number of modeling benchmarks - NOx emission process data of gas turbine power plant and learning machine data(Automobile Miles Per Gallon Data) already experimented with in fuzzy or neurofuzzy modeling. A comparative analysis reveals that the proposed RPNN exhibits higher accuracy and superb predictive capability in comparison to some previous models available in the literature.
The signal broadcast from a GPS satellite experiences code delay and carrier phase advance while passing through the ionosphere, which causes a signal error. Many ionosphere models have been studied to correct this ionospheric delay error. In this paper, the ionosphere modeling for the Korean Peninsula was carried out using a spherical harmonics based model. In contrast to the previous studies, we considered a real-time ionospheric delay correction model using fewer number of basis functions. The modeling performance was evaluated by comparing with a grid model. Total number of basis functions was set to be identical to the number of grid points in the grid model. The performance test was conducted using the GPS measurements collected from 5 reference stations during 24 hours. In the test result, the modeling residual error was smaller than that of the existing grid model. However, when the number of measurements was small and the measurements were not evenly distributed, the overall trend was found to be problematic. For improving this problem, we implemented the modeling with additional virtual measurements.
