  • The Fisher information matrix plays a significant role in statistical inference in connection with estimation and properties of variance of estimators. In this paper, the parameter space of the t-distribution using its Fisher's matrix is defined. The Riemannian and scalar curvatures to parameter space are calculated.

  • The Fisher information matrix plays a significant role in statistical inference in connection with estimation and properties of variance of estimators. In this paper, we define the parameter space of the t-manifold using its Fisher's matrix and characterize the t-manifold from the viewpoint of information geometry. The ${\alpha}$-scalar curvatures to the t-manifold are calculated.

  • In this paper we derive an integral formula on an (n + 1)-dimensional, compact, minimal contact CR-submanifold M of (n - 1) contact CR-dimension immersed in a unit (2m+1)-sphere $S^{2m+1}$. Using this integral formula, we give a sufficient condition concerning with the scalar curvature of M in order that such a submanifold M is to be a generalized Clifford torus.

  • This article is concerned with the presentation of a time-domain BEM approach applied to the solution of the scalar wave equation for 2D problems. The basic idea is quite simple: the basic variables of the problem at time $t_n$ (potential and flux) are computed with the results related to the potential and to its time derivative at time $t_{n-1}$ playing the role of "initial conditions". This time-marching scheme needs the computation of the potential and its time derivative at all boundary nodes and internal points, as well as the entire discretization of the domain. The convolution integrals of the standard time-domain BEM formulation, however, are not computed; the matrices assembled, only at the initial time interval, are those related to the potential, flux and to the potential time derivative. Two examples are presented and discussed at the end of the article, in order to verify the accuracy and potentialities of the proposed formulation.

  • The following is the basic problem about the stability in Riemannian Geometry; given a Riemannian manifold N, find all stable complete minimal submanifolds of N. As answers of this problem, do Carmo-Peng [1] and Fischer-Colbrie and Schoen [3] showed that the stable minimal surfaces in R$^{3}$ are planes and Schoen-Yau [5] and Fischer-Colbrie and Schoen [3] gave a solution for the case where the ambient space is a three dimensional manifold with nonnegative scalar curvature. In this paper we will remove the assumption of finite absolute total curvature in [3, Theorem 3].

  • In this paper we derive an integral formula on an (n + 3)-dimensional, compact, minimal contact three CR-submanifold M of (p-1) contact three CR-dimension immersed in a unit (4m+3)-sphere $S^{4m+3}$. Using this integral formula, we give a sufficient condition concerning the scalar curvature of M in order that such a submanifold M is to be a generalized Clifford torus.

  • If a paraSasakian manifold of dimension (2n + 1) represents Bach almost solitons, then the Bach tensor is a scalar multiple of the metric tensor and the manifold is of constant scalar curvature. Additionally it is shown that the Ricci operator of the metric g has a constant norm. Next, we characterize 3-dimensional paraSasakian manifolds admitting Bach almost solitons and it is proven that if a 3-dimensional paraSasakian manifold admits Bach almost solitons, then the manifold is of constant scalar curvature. Moreover, in dimension 3 the Bach almost solitons are steady if r = -6; shrinking if r > -6; expanding if r < -6.
