Metallic bipolar plate is the one of the promising candidate material for PEMFC because of mechanical strength, low gas permeability, electrical and thermal conductivity. However, the corrosion is the main obstacle of metallic bipolar plate, and many investigations, especially coating on base metal, have been carried out to avoid corrosion. Gold is considered as the one of the best coating material because of its corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity. In this study, gold coated metallic bipolar plate was developed and evaluated. Due to our coating process, gold can be well-adhere to the base material, and hydrophobic material on its gold surface was coated by dipping method for better water management. To verify coating reliability, a single fuel cell(50cm2) was evaluated, and its durability over 4000hrs was demonstrated.
The use of autopolymerizing-cured resin and light-cured resin for direct relining of complete and partial dentures has been popular. This investigation compared the adhesion of autopolymerizing-cured reline resin(Tokuso Rebase, Mild Rebaron) or light-cured reline resin(Mild Rebaron LC, Lighton-U) to metal base or resin base. Cylindrical samples were made from metal($Biosil^{(R)}$) or heat-cured resin(QC-20) and were prepared to produce a flat bonding surface. Cylindrical metal samples were roughened by scratch or by scratch and sandblast and were treated with primer(MR Bond) after scratch and sandblast. And then, liners were prossesed to the cylindrical metal or resin samples according to the manufacturer's recommendations so as to bond metal base or resin base. The specimens were tested in pure tension by using an Instron Univesal testing machine for the four direct reline resins. The results were as follows ; 1. In comparison with tensile bond strength of material relined on resin base or metal base, the case of resin base produced significantly higher tensile bond strength than the case of metal base. 2. Metal surface pretreatment or primer improved the tensile bond strength between the reline resin and the metal($Biosil^{(R)}$) base. 3. The tensile bond strength of Mild Rebaron LC relined on resin base or metal base were similar to those of the other reline resins.

The study was performed to search on alternative material for turbopump parts made of Russian material by analyzing and comparing chemical and mechanical material properties. Iron base material was generally used for turbopump. This material can be categorized into stainless steel and heat resisting steel by quantity of additional elements. Each steel was also classified into austenite steel, ferrite steel, and martensite steel. Alternative materials for turbopump inducer, impeller and casing are chosen by JIS SUS 631 and 321 as a result of this study. Because the material of Russian turbopump turbine may be developed by Russia itself, alternative material can be hardly found. However, Inconel 718 for turbine material is thought to be proper in the aspect of hardness considering general use of this material for turbopump turbine in Japan and France.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to compare the surface roughness according to polishing process in conventional laboratory techniques used for polishing three different acrylic denture base resins. Materials and methods: Specimen preparation and surface polishing procedures were conducted to manufacturer's recommendation with three heat-polymerized denture base resins. Surface roughness and gloss were measured by a contact type tester and a LED gloss checker using thickness 2 mm and diameter 10 mm. There were five specimens for each acrylic resin material and polishing procedures. Mean average surface roughness (Ra) values of each specimen group were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA analysis of variance and Scheffe's post hoc test. Surfaces after surface roughness and gloss testing according to each polishing process were evaluated under a stereoscopic microscope. Results: The highest mean average surface roughness was measured($Ra=2.43{\pm}0.47$) for surfaces finished with a denture tungsten carbide bur in Triplex. The lowest surface roughness values ($Ra=0.11{\pm}0.07$) were determined in Vertex polished with a lathe. In addition, all materials revealed that surface roughness determined highly in HP1 and HP2 than other procedures. All correlation between surface roughness and gloss showed highly with three heat-polymerized resins. Specially, topmost correlation revealed than other material in Triplex. Significant differences in mean average surface roughness were found between polishing process used high speed lathe and low speed hand-piece. Conclusion: Laboratory polishing used to high speed was found to produce the smoothest surface of heat-polymerized denture base acrylic resin. Therefore, we recommended that high polishing process need to get smooth surface.
The aim of this study was to assess the allergenic potential of 0.3% DA-5018 cream, a non-narcotic analgesic agent, using a guinea pig maximization test. Five male and female guinea pigs in the experimental group were sensitized in two steps. First, ,0.3% DA-5018 cream was injected intradermally, and 7 days later, the material was applied topically. After another 2 weeks test material was applied, the skin response was evaluated by visual observation. Five male and female guinea pigs served as cream base group, negative(ultreated) group or positive (2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene, DNCB) group, respectively. 0.3% DA-5018 cream provoked slight erythema in 1 out of 5 cases in male and female guinea pigs sensitized with 0.3% DA-5018 cream or cream base. The animals challenged with cream base also showed slight erythema in 1/5 female guinea pig sensitized with 0.3% 3A-5018 cream or 2/5 male guinea pjgs sensitized with cream base, respectively. Histologically, however, no indication of skin sensitization was observed in all of these cases. The positive control group was sensitized with 0.1% DNCB suspended in olive oil and challenged with 0.01% and 0.1% DNCB ointment, all the animal showed remarkable skin reactions and obvious skin sensitization reactions in a dose dependent manner. From the challenge test it was evident that 0.3% DA-5018 cream did not elicit positive skin reaction interpreted as delayed hypersensitivity reactions, compared with cream base or untreated control group. These findings indicate that allergenic side effects by 0.3% DA-5018 cream is not likely in the clinical use.
This study investigated the effect of bonding temperature and holding time on microstructures and mechanical properties of diffusion bonded joint of Haynes230. The diffusion bonds were performed at the temperature of 950, 1050, and $1150^{\circ}C$ for holding times of 30, 60, 120 and 240 minutes at a pressure of 4MPa under high vacuum condition. The amount of non-bonded area and void observed in the bonded interface decreased with increasing bonding temperature and holding time. Cr-rich precipitates at the linear interface region restrained grain migration at $950^{\circ}C$ and $1050^{\circ}C$. However, the grain migration was observed in spite of short holding time due to the dissolution of precipitates to base metal in the interface region at $1150^{\circ}C$. Three types of the fracture surface were observed after tensile test. The region where the coalesce and migration of grain occurred much showed high fracture load because of base metal fracture whereas the region where those did less due to the precipitates demonstrated low fracture load because of interface fracture. The expected fracture load could be derived with the value of fracture area of base metal ($A_{BF}$) and interface ($A_{IF}$), $Load=201A_{BF}+153A_{IF}$. Based on this equation, strength of base metal and interface fracture were calculated as 201MPa and 153MPa, respectively.
Graphene has a monolayer crystal structure formed with C-atoms and has been used as a base layer of HETs (hot electron transistors). Graphene HETs have exhibited the operation at THz frequencies and higher current on/off ratio than that of Graphene FETs. In this article, we report on the preliminary results of current characteristics from the HETs which are fabricated utilizing highly doped Si collector, graphene base, and 5 nm thin $Al_2O_3$ tunnel layers between the base and Ti emitter. We have observed E-B forward currents are inherited to tunneling through $Al_2O_3$ layers, but have not noticed the Schottky barrier blocking effect on B-C forward current at the base/collector interface. At the common-emitter configuration, under a constant $V_{BE}$ between 0~1.2V, $I_C$ has increased linearly with $V_{CE}$ for $V_{CE}$ < $V_{BE}$ indicating the saturation region. As the $V_{CE}$ increases further, a plateau of $I_C$ vs. $V_{CE}$ has appeared slightly at $V_{CE}{\simeq}V_{BE}$, denoting forward-active region. With further increase of $V_{CE}$, $I_C$ has kept increasing probably due to tunneling through thin Schottky barrier between B/C. Thus the current on/off ration has exhibited to be 50. To improve hot electron effects, we propose the usage of low doped Si substrate, insertion of barrier layer between B/C, or substrates with low electron affinity.
In order to analyze the tensile deformation characteristics of laser welded tailored blanks. laser welded blanks of different thikness and strength combinations were prepared and tensile tests were done. The tensile elongation along the direction perpendicular to weld line of laser welded blanks was reduced as increasing the deformation restraining force (strength X thicknes) ratio between two welded sheets and fracture occurred at weaker side of base sheets if void ration of welded sheets and fracture occurred at weaker side of base sheets if void ratio of weld section was less than 45% The tensile elongation along weld line reached above 90% of the elongation of base material if welding was done perfectly. Total elongation along the direction perpendicular to weld line was able to be predicted by force equilibrium and power law behavior of base sheets and it was related with the deformation of stronger sheet and formability of weaker side.
The WiBro was adopted to the 3G international standard. By the change of specification from Wave 1 to Wave 2, MIMO technology is applied in order to increase the speed of downlink. By MIMO the RF part of WiBro base station is increased to 2 Tx paths. Therefore, the size of RF part is bigger and material cost is increased. For reducing these demerits, the RF part which is consisted of PA, LNA, and TDD switch is designed to one complex RF unit. Also, the experimental results of the RF unit have been discussed. Since the complex RF unit is more compact than the RF part of Wave 1 base station, it can be used as the RF part of Wave 2 base station with 2T/2R MIMO.
