The present paper investigates estimation of a scale parameter of a gamma distribution using a loss function that reflects both goodness of fit and precision of estimation. The Bayes and empirical Bayes estimators rotative to balanced loss functions (BLFs) are derived and optimality of some estimators are studied.

Zellner(1994) introduced the notion of a balanced loss function in the context of a general liner model to reflect both goodness of fit and precision of estimation. We study the perspective of unifying a variety of results both frequentist and Bayesian from Poisson distributions. We show that frequentist and Bayesian results for balanced loss follow from and also imply related results for quadratic loss functions reflecting only precision of estimation. Several examples are given for Poisson distribution.

A generalization of the log-logistic (LL) distribution called exponentiated log-logistic (ELL) distribution on lines of exponentiated Weibull distribution is considered. In this paper, based on progressive type-II censored samples, we have derived the maximum likelihood estimators and Bayes estimators for three parameters, the survival function and hazard function of the ELL distribution. Then, under the balanced squared error loss (BSEL) and the balanced linex loss (BLEL) functions, their corresponding Bayes estimators are obtained using Lindley's approximation (see Jung and Chung, 2018; Lindley, 1980), Tierney-Kadane approximation (see Tierney and Kadane, 1986) and Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods (see Hastings, 1970; Gelfand and Smith, 1990). Here, to check the convergence of MCMC chains, the Gelman and Rubin diagnostic (see Gelman and Rubin, 1992; Brooks and Gelman, 1997) was used. On the basis of their risks, the performances of their Bayes estimators are compared with maximum likelihood estimators in the simulation studies. In this paper, research supports the conclusion that ELL distribution is an efficient distribution to modeling data in the analysis of survival data. On top of that, Bayes estimators under various loss functions are useful for many estimation problems.

데이터 불균형은 분류 문제에서 흔히 마주치는 문제로, 데이터셋 내의 클래스간 샘플 수의 현저한 차이에서 기인한다. 이러한 데이터 불균형은 일반적으로 분류 모델에서 과적합, 과소적합, 성능 지표의 오해 등의 문제를 야기한다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로는 Resampling, Augmentation, 규제 기법, 손실 함수 조정 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 손실 함수 조정에 대해 다루며 특히, 불균형 문제를 가진 Multi-Class 블랙박스 동영상 데이터에서 여러 구성의 손실 함수(Cross Entropy, Balanced Cross Entropy, 두 가지 Focal Loss 설정: 𝛼 = 1 및 𝛼 = Balanced, Asymmetric Loss)의 성능을 I3D, R3D_18 모델을 활용하여 비교하였다.

잘 알려져 있는 것처럼 일반적인 베이즈 추정량(Bayes estimator)과 경험적 베이즈 추정량(empirical Bayes estimator)은 모수를 추정하는데 있어서 오차를 과다축소하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위하여 constrained 베이즈 추정량이 일차 적률과 이차 적률을 일치시키는 성질을 만족시키며 제안되었다. 또한 평균 제곱오차 함수와 같은 전통적인 손실함수에서는 추정의 정확성만을 고려하는 특징을 가지고 있기 때문에, 추정의 정확성과 정합성을 동시에 고려하는 균형 손실함수가 제안되었다. 이러한 이유로 인하여 균형손실 함수하에서의 제한적 베이즈 추정량의 활용이 손해 보험의 가격 산출에 제안되는 것은 타당하다. 그러나 대부분의 연구는 추정의 문제에만 집중하는 경향이 있으며. 이는 새롭게 제안되는 특정 손실함수하에서의 constrained 베이즈 추정량과 constrained empirical 베이즈 추정량의 베이즈 위험의 계산이 어렵다는 점에서 기인한다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 베이즈 추정량들에 대한 베이즈 위험을 서로 다른 두 손실함수하에서 비교하였으며, 그 대상은 자동차 보험 산업에서의 위험도 추정 분야이다. 또한 자동차 보험 산업의 실제 사고 데이터를 이용하여 새롭게 제안된 베이즈 추정량의 베이즈 위험을 비교함으로써 그 효용성을 입증하였다.

In this paper, we aim to estimate two scale-parameters of exponentiated Pareto distribution (EPD) based on lower record values. Record values arise naturally in many real life applications involving data relating to weather, sport, economics and life testing studies. We calculate the Bayesian estimators for the two parameters of EPD based on lower record values. The Bayes estimators of two parameters for the EPD with lower record values under the squared error loss (SEL), linex loss (LL) and entropy loss (EL) functions are provided. Lindley's approximate method is used to compute these estimators. We compare the Bayesian estimators in the sense of the bias and root mean squared estimates (RMSE).

본 논문은 비선형 위상 특성을 갖고 있는 CRLH 전송선로를 이용하여 이중대역 평형 믹서를 제안한 것이다. 이 메타 재질 구조의 믹서는 이중대역에서 낮은 LO 누설 전력과 높은 RF-LO 고립도를 갖고 있어, LO와 RF 경로에 추가적인 여파기가 필요하지 않는다. 이 평형 믹서는 이중대역에서 동작하는 발룬과 윌킨슨 분배기를 이용하여 구현하였으며, 이중대역 특성은 CRLH 전송선로의 비선형 위상 특성을 이용하였다. 제안한 메타 재질을 이용한 평형 믹서는 실험을 결과를 통해서 증명하였으며, 870 MHz와 1660 MHz의 주파수에서 동작하도록 제작하여, 870 MHz에서 15.2 dB, 1660 MHz에서 21.2 dB의 변환 손실을 얻었다.

본 논문은 차동과 공통 모드로 동작하는 메타 재질 구조를 바탕으로 평형 믹서 수신기를 제안한 것이다. 이 메타 재질 구조는 리키 웨이브 안테나로 동작하며, 순수 공통 모드는 억압한다. 이러한 특성은 낮은 LO 누설전력과 높은 RF-LO 고립도를 갖고 있어 LO과 RF 경로에 추가적인 여파기가 필요로 하지 않는다. 이 메타 재질은 차동 모드 동작에서는 Composite Right/Left-Handed(CRLH) 메타 재질처럼 동작하고, 공통 모드에서는 차단되는 성질을 갖는 단위 셀을 기초로 설계하였다. 제안된 메타 재질의 차동과 공통 모드 특성은 실험 결과를 통하여 증명하였다. 메타 재질을 이용한 수신기는 $1.96{\sim}2.40$ GHz의 주파수 범위에서 동작하는 안테나와 평형 믹서를 집적화시켜 제작하였고, 2.4 GHz에서 21.1 dB의 믹서의 변환 손실을 얻었다.

Current environmental problems of rural area are connected to loss of rural functions which is food security as well as conservation of environment, balanced development of country and succession of traditional culture. To solve these problems, recent projects are focusing on social changes in rural area and conservation of rurality creating values of rural amenity resources. At this point, full implications of rurality which is the various aspects of rurality should be defined to be applied in direct plans to conserve the rurality. In this study, nine attributes of rurality are found as various meanings with adjectives included in image of rurality. For practical use of these adjectives of rurality attributes, we evaluate the list of rural amenity resources and suggested plans for conservation of rural amenity. These attributes can be used as an effective method for village plan which brings one of the attributes into relief.

In this paper, we develope an ATM switch simulator in order to evaluate the HAN/B-ISDN ATM switch currently being developed by ETRI. It models the basic cell switching functions of the target ATM switch with priority control and multicasting features and it also supports such various traffic models as random or bursty traffic, balanced or unbalanced traffic, multicast traffic models. Using this simulator, we can evaluate the performances of the ATM switch in terms of various performance indices, i.e. cell delay, cell loss probability, etc., and this simulator can be utilized in the system parameter tunings such as the common buffer size and address buffer size.
