매입말뚝공법의 지지력 예측식 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Bearing Capacity Prediction Equation for Auger-drilled Piling)

  • Recently, auger-drilled piling has been widely used in urban area to reduce the air pollution and noise. But this construction method that its basic theory was introduced from Japan may be changed depending on the each piling company and construction field condition. Therefore, the design code and management method for auger-drilled piling is not defined yet. Especially, the lack of research on the bearing capacity of auger-drilled piling leads to the absence of rational bearing capacity prediction equation. This paper presents the optimum design code and economical construction method of the auger-drilled piling by proposing the new bearing capacity prediction equation based on the site specific soil types and construction conditions. In this paper, existing bearing capacity prediction equations and current pile load tests were compared. And the end bearing capacity and skin friction characteristics were also analyzed by comparing the results of CAPWAP. From the results of analysis, a reliable bearing capacity prediction equation considered soil types is proposed.

  • This study set out to analyze the appropriateness of the piling distance installed in weathered layer in the auger-drilled piling method and the reasonable piling distance for the unfinished parts. For that purpose, an investigation was done of the reliability of the dynamic test, the appropriateness of the old bearing capacity formula for the auger-drilled piling, and the quality control measures for obtaining the required bearing capacity.

  • Active application of auger-drilled piling is expected in Korea considering its advantage in noise and vibration problems against driven piling and its cost-effectiveness in comparison to the cast in-situ piling. The current design practice being used in Korea is adopted from the Japanese one, however the equipment and construction procedure is modified for the geotechnical conditions and construction circumstances in Korea. Therefore there is an urgent need for the establishment of the rational design criteria for the auger-drilled piling in Korea. As the preliminary work for the establishment, this paper presents the current practice in Korean railway constructions. Design criteria of Korea Railway Network Authority are introduced and its characteristics and the problems are described. Application cases of auger-drilled pile to railway construction are introduced as well.

  • In the past decades, complain about ground vibration and noise induced by pile driving has been quickly increased. Because of that, auger drilled piling methods have frequently used specially in urban area. However, the present auger drilled piling methods induce inevitable ground disturbance as well as a certain degree of vibration and noise due to the final hammering. For these reasons, a new auger drilled piling method is required to be developed. This paper introduces PDT(Pulse Discharge Technology) piling method and presents the characteristics of bearing capacity. The PDT piling method is to install in-situ piles using electric power so called Pulse. The pile installed by PDT appears to be able to develop shaft and end bearing capacity efficiently.

This paper introduces PDT(Pulse Discharge Technology) piling method, which is the 512nd new construction technology. The PDT piling method is to install in-situ piles using electrical power so called Pulse power. The pulse power is physical value that indicates the energy change per unit time(dE/dt). Since the pulse power is to push ground, using the pulse power is enable a hole to be expanded as well as the ground to be improved by compaction. Therefore, The pile installed by PDT appears to be able to develop shaft and end bearing capacity efficiently. In this study, couples of pile loading tests were carried out to figure out whether or not the PDT piling method is applicable to constructions like rail road facility. As a result, it was concluded that the PDT piling technique meet the requirements for such a rail road related construction.

새로운 매입말뚝 공법의 지지력 특성 (Characteristics of the Bearing Capacity for New Auger-Drilled Piles)

  • 기존의 매입말뚝공법이 갖고 있는 문제들, 즉 지지력의 약화와 소음 진동의 발생을 해결하기 위하여 나선돌기형 매입말뚝공법과 선단확대형 매입말뚝공법을 개발하였다. 이들 공법의 시공성과 지지력 증대효과를 알아보기 위하여 현장시험을 실시하였다. 시험결과 극한지지력은 말뚝에 성형된 돌기에 의한 주면마찰력의 증가로 인하여 침설방식보다 약 44%증가하였으며, 주면마찰력은 돌기의 형상과 돌기간의 간격에 의하여 영향을 받는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그리고 전체지지력에서 주면마찰력이 차지하는 비율은 침설방식의 경우가 74~80%이고 나선돌기 형과 선단확대형의 경우가 81~86% 매입말뚝의 지지력에서 선단지지력이 차지하는 비율은 매우 작았다. 또한 동일 하중에 대한 침하량을 비교한 결과 침설방식보다는 나선돌기형과 선단확대형 매입말뚝의 침하량이 작게 측정되었다.

  • Recently, a more strict regulation has become effective on ground vibration and noise induced by construction activities. Consequently the demand for the most widely used method of installing precast piles, i.e. driven piles, is declining. At the same time the demand for low noise and low vibration piling method increased sharply. Currently there are several different low noise and low vibration methods of installing precast piles, mostly preboring method. However, the actual level of ground vibration and noise of these method of construction has not yet been clearly understood. In this paper, through field measurement, suggestion has been made to meet the requirements of the revised regulation.
