The Purpose of. this study was to investigate the relationship between sociocultural attitude toward appearance and appearance-management behavior. The method of the study was survey research by using questionnaires. Subjects were 323 females in their twenties. Statistical analysis methods were frequency, percentage, factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, X²-test, and Duncan's multiple range test. The results of the study were as follows. As for appearance-management behaviors of females in their twenties, they experienced in diet, plastic surgery, skin care, make up, and hair dyeing. There were significant differences in body satisfaction between groups according to body image distortion. Respondents were barely satisfied with their body, and the group with high body image distortion showed low body satisfaction. Sociocultural attitude toward appearance factors was analyzed into 2 factors, iternalization of mass-media and social recognition toward appearance, which respondents considered importantly. A significant difference was found in sociocultural attitude toward appearance and appearance management behavior. The group with positive sociocultural attitude toward appearance was analyzed to show high appearance concern and many experiences of appearance management behaviors.
This study was conducted to examine the effect of children's dietary quality, dietary habits, food behavior and health-related lifestyles according to the mother's lifestyles of health and sustainability (LOHAS). The subjects were 580 children. Mother's LOHAS attitude index was 66.85 points and 100 points was a perfect score. The mother's high LOHAS attitude items that children perceived were "My mother often communicates with the family"(3.99 points) and "My mother thinks that the family's health is more important than her health"(3.93 points). In contrast, the LOHAS attitude items for "My mother does community service activity on weekends"(2.78 points), and "My mother participates in environmental protection service activity for the local community"(2.78 points) were very low. The high LOHAS behavior index of mothers was "resource saving", whereas "social welfare" scored low. When self-perceived health status and monthly income of children was high, the mother's LOHAS score was high. The LOHAS attitude index of mothers had a meaningful impact on the children's dietary quality, dietary habits, food behavior and health-related lifestyles. The most frequent food behavior variables were "high skipping rate", "frequency of snacks is 2~4 times per week", "speed of eating is rapid", and 'meals' amount is sufficient. The highest daily life habits item was "I try to maintain a pleasant and enjoyable life style"(3.42 points). The highest nutrient intake attitude score was "I tend to eat rice everyday."(3.41 points). They were highly recognized with "moderate physical activity", "high exercise preference", "positive posture exercise", "exercise <2 days per week", and "over 30 minutes exercise time per day" for the exercise performance status items. It was verified that the higher mother's LOHAS lifestyle score is, the higher children's food behavior, daily life habits, nutrient intake, exercise performance state score are.
The objects of this study were to classify the contents of life style of university students, to investigate the relationships between lifes tyle and appearance behavior(attitude toward appearance, body satisfaction, clothing attitude), and to examine how appearance behavior was influenced by life styles, male and female variables. The method of the study was survey research by using questionnaires. Subjects were 358(male 175, female 183) university students located in Junrabookdo province. In this statistical analysis, SPSS 11.5 for Windows Program was utilized to calculate frequency, percentage, mean, Factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, Pearson's correlation, Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of this research were as follows: Five dimensions of life styles were derived by factor analysis: 'digital orientation', 'material orientation', 'positive activity', 'achievement orientation', and 'frugality'. Male and female variables have significant effects on the life style and appearance behavior. Digital & material orientation were significantly higher for male than for female, whereas positive activity, achievement orientation, and frugality were significantly higher for female than for male. Attitude toward appearance and clothing attitude were significantly higher for female than for male, whereas body satisfaction were significantly higher for male than for female. Positive activity and achievement orientation had positive relations with appearance behavior. Need value of attitude toward appearance, body satisfaction, Clothing attitude variables except of attract sex attention was influenced by positive activity and achievement orientation of life style. As a conclusion, university students' life style and male and female variables constituted important characteristics which could affect appearance behavior.
Purpose: This study was conducted to compare health knowledge, health attitude and health behavior of middle school students based on the hours of health educational parameters imparted. Methods: After obtaining informed consent from participants, data were collected from 474 middle school students attending three different schools. The questionnaires were developed based on previous studies and four authorized health textbooks. Data were analyzed using $x^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA and ANCOVA. Results: The scores of 34-hour or 17-hour regular health education group were higher than those of 0-hour regular health education group in the areas of health knowledge and health attitude. In contrast the score of health behavior showed no significant difference among the three groups. Conclusion: The course of regular health education should be included as an essential one rather than as a selective option in the curriculum, and 34-hour regular health education is needed for all primary, middle, and high school students who are about to developing lifelong health habits, in order to have them gradually acquire sound education of health knowledge, health attitude, and health behavior.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to test the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in the prediction of smoking cessation intention and smoking cessation behavior among adolescent smokers, in order to provide basic data to develop a future smoking cessation program as a nursing intervention. Method: The study subjects were 80 adolescent smokers who had smoked one cigarette and attended a five-day school smoking cessation program. The data were collected from October 24 to December 21, 1999. The instruments used in this study were the tools developed by Jee (1994) to measure TPB variables such as attitude toward smoking cessation behavior, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, smoking cessation intention, and smoking cessation behavior. The data were analyzed with the SAS/PC program using descriptive statistics, hierarchical multiple regression, and logistic multiple regression. Results: 1. Attitude toward smoking cessation behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control were partially significant in predicting smoking cessation intention. 2. Smoking cessation intention and perceived behavioral control toward smoking cessation behavior did not significantly predict smoking cessation behavior. 3. There were partial interaction effects among the attitude toward smoking cessation behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control in the prediction of smoking cessation intention. 4. There were partial interaction effects between smoking cessation intention and perceiver behavioral control toward smoking cessation behavior in the prediction of smoking cessation behavior. Conclusion: This study partially demonstrated support for the TPB model that was partially useful in predicting smoking cessation intention and smoking cessation behavior among adolescent smokers. Therefore, it is recommended that attitude toward smoking cessation behavior and perceived behavioral control should be considered in developing smoking cessation programs and implementing nursing interventions to change the smoking behavior of adolescent smokers.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the sexual desire, sexual attitude and sexual desire coping behavior in military personnel, and analyze relationships among these variables. Methods: Data were collected from February to April, 2015 using a structured questionnaire. Participants in the study were 199 military personnel visiting the military hospital P. Results: The average score for sexual desire was $2.09{\pm}0.59$, for sexual attitude, $3.15{\pm}0.42$, and for sexual desire coping behavior, $3.18{\pm}0.40$. Sexual desire showed a significant difference according to age (F=3.386, p=.023), assignment (F=3.327, p=.038). Sexual attitude was significantly different by religion (F=6.857, p<.001). The sexual desire coping behavior was found to be more active with military service period 5~9 months compared to 11~15 (F=3.621, p=.014) and in private first class compared to rank of private (F=3.165, p=.026). There was a significant positive correlation between sexual desire and sexual behavior, between sexual attitude and sexual desire coping behavior. Conclusion: To prevent sex-related accidents and diseases, it is necessary to provide sexual and health education customized for military personnel. For military personnel to cope appropriately with sexual desire, military personnel need to implement alternate measures such as encouraging soldiers to enjoy hobbies or physical exercise programs.
The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of their money attitudes to spending behaviors of middle, high, and college students. The total number of students selected for this study were 1,252. Factor analysis, Cronbach' ${\alpha}$, two-way ANOVA, Duncan' multiple range test, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression were used for statistical analysis. The results were summarized as followings: 1) The tendency of attitude that money is good was highest. Also, the tendency of attitude that money represents freedom and power was slightly high. On the other hand the attitudes that money represents achievement, and that money is evil were low. Especially the attitude that money represents respect was lowest. 2) Resulting from two-way ANOVA, the attitudes that money is good and represents achievement showed significant interaction effects between sex and age. The altitude that money is good showed significant differences by sex especially among middle and high school students. The altitude that money represents achievement showed significant differences by age among the male students. Three types of attitudes that money is evil, money represents respect, and money represents both freedom and power showed significant main effects in different age groups. Also the attitude that money represents freedom and power showed significant main effect by different sexes. 3) Four different types of measuring spending behaviors scored slightly low mark. 4) Resulting from two-way ANOVA, four different spending behaviors showed significant difference only by sexes and ages. Planned spalding behavior and conscious spending behavior showed significant differences in ages and sexes separately. While impulsive spending behavior by different age groups resulted in significant differences. Excessive spending behavior by sexes resulted in significant differences. 5) Regression analysis showed that planned spending behavior had the linear relationships in no, sex, self-esteem, and attitude that money is good. Conscious spending behavior had the linear relationships in ses, and attitudes that money represent achievement. respect, and freedom. Impulsive spending behavior had the linear relationships in age, self-esteem, and attitudes that money is good and that money is evil, and attitude that money represent freedom, Excessive spending behavior had the linear relationships in sex, self-esteem, and attitudes that money represent achievement, respect and freedom.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of individual and interpersonal variables on early childhood teachers' efficacy of problem behavior guidance. Individual variables consisted of teachers' socio-demographic characteristics, experience of training course on problem behavior guidance and warm-hearted attitude. Interpersonal variables consisted of intimacy with colleagues, support from the principal of a kindergarten, parental partnerships. Subjects were 122 early childhood teachers in Busan. Major findings were as follows. There were significant differences in teachers' efficacy of problem behavior guidance with respect to teachers' age, teaching experience, position, marriage status, experience of training course on problem behavior guidance, warm-hearted attitude, intimacy with colleagues, and support from the principal of a kindergarten. In other words, a higher level of teachers' efficacy of problem behavior guidance was shown in the teachers who were older, highly experienced, or in higher positions. In addition, teachers who were married, had completed a training course on problem behavior guidance, had a higher warm-hearted attitude, had a intimacy with colleagues, or had a support from the principal of a kindergarten were found to have higher efficacy of problem behavior guidance. As results of examining relative effects of individual and interpersonal variables on efficacy of problem behavior guidance, the influential variables are teaching experience, warm-hearted attitude, support from the principal of a kindergarten, and position in that order.
This study was aimed to analyze consumer's wearing attitude and the purchase behavior of jeans and the jean manufacturer's marketing strategies. Subjects were 448 male and female in their teens twenties and thirties living in Seoul. Data were obtained by self-administered questions and analyzed by SAS package. The main findings of this research are as follows: factors of fashion pursuit famous brand pursuit sexual attraction pursuit practicality pursuit. 2. In analysis between jeans wearing attitude type of information source purchase behavior and demographic characteristics showed signicficant difference partially. 3. The most influential design of jeans purchase was a fitting factor. The consumers preferred low price shops in downtown and colledge area and department store because of it's variety of jean goods. So the market segmentation and the brand positioning method according to consumers' wearing attitude and purchase behavior should be concerned properly in maketing strategy design include product and advertising strategy.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of knowledge about coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on behavioral intentions to practice COVID-19 preventive behaviors using the theory of planned behavior (TPB). SUBJECTS/METHODS: A total of 519 restaurant customers' responses was collected in this study through an online self-administered questionnaire. Descriptive statistical analysis was performed on socio-demographic factors. One-way analysis of variance and t-test were conducted to determine differences in the constructs from the TPB according to age and sex. The hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling (SEM). RESULTS: SEM revealed the positive effect of knowledge about COVID-19 on attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in restaurants. Attitude, subjective norm, behavior intention, and knowledge positively affected COVID-19 preventive behavior intentions in restaurants. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study confirmed that the TPB is helpful in elucidating the determinants of consumers' intention to practice COVID-19 preventive behavior in restaurants. These findings can help policy makers and professionals provide material for further public health interventions and inform them about awareness-raising, guidelines, and health education programs.
