비대칭적 멀티코어 프로세서의 통계적 모의실험에 관한 연구 (A Study On Statistical Simulation for Asymmetric Multi-Core Processor Architectures)

  • 비대칭적 멀티코어 프로세서 구조의 성능을 분석하기 위하여 명령어 트레이스 모의실험이나 실행 위주 모의실험을 이용하는 경우, 시간이 과다 소요되고 대량의 데이터 저장 공간을 차지하는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 통계적 모의실험에 의하여 다양한 하드웨어의 사양을 갖는 비대칭적 멀티코어 프로세서의 성능을 측정하는 기법에 대하여 연구하였다. 이것을 위하여 SPEC 2000 벤치마크 프로그램의 특성을 통계적 프로화일링 기법으로 모델링하고, 여기서 얻은 통계적 프로화일을 바탕으로 벤치마크 트레이스를 합성하여 비대칭적 멀티코어 프로세서에 대한 모의실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 통계적 모의실험에 의하여 측정한 성능이 명령어 트레이스 모의실험에 의하여 측정한 성능에 근접한 결과를 가져왔으며, 모의실험 시간을 크게 단축시켰다.

집적도 향상을 위한 비대칭 n-MOSFET의 전기적 특성 및 모델링 (Electric Characteristics and Modeling of Asymmetric n-MOSFETs for Improving Packing Density)

  • 집적도 향상을 위해 사용되는 비대칭 n-MOSFET를 0.35 ㎛ CMOS공정으로 제조하여 그 전기적 특성을 조사고 전기적 모델을 제시하였다. 비대칭형 n-MOSFET는 대칭형 n-MOSFET에 비해 포화영역의 드레인 전류는 감소하였으며, 선형영역의 저항은 증가하였다. 그리고 비대칭형 n-MOSFET에서 보다 낮은 기판 전류가 측정되었다. 측정결과를 찬조하여 비대칭 n-MOSFET를 회로설계에 용이하게 사용할 수 있도록 기존의 대칭형 소자 모델을 개선한 새로운 모델을 제시하였다. 이 모델링의 정확성을 MEDICI 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였고, 대부분의 게이트 폭 범위에서 계산된 비대칭 n-MOSFET의 포화 전류 값은 측정값과 거의 일치하였다.

눈부심 저감을 고려한 LED광원 계류장 조명탑 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of a Floodlighting Tower with LED Source of Light Considering the Reduction of a Glare)

  • The floodlighting assists the pilot in taxiing the aircraft into and out of the final parking position and provide lighting suitable for passenger to embark and debark and for personnel to load and unload cargo. It is composed of sodium lamps which is consuming high energy. It needs to develop a dedicated LED lamp to replace the existing lamps. In this paper, We propose a suitable asymmetric angle of LED lamps to avoid a pilot's glare and to meet the standard illumination. For this, we analyze asymmetric angle of sodium lamps which are using in airport and confirm whether the illumination distribution and glare index meet the relating standards by using simulation method. Also, we study the needs of asymmetric characteristics of LED ramp by simulating the LED lamps with and without asymmetric characteristics of ramp respectively. With the simulation result, finally we propose the best asymmetric angle of LED lamp to meet the average illumination standard, and avoid a pilot's glare.

Against the Asymmetric CP- V2 Analysis of Old English

  • The paper is to argue against the asymmetric CP-V2 analysis of Old English, according to which finite verbs invariably undergo movement into a clause-final T within subordinate clauses and reach the functional head C within main clauses. The asymmetric CP-V2 analysis, first of all, faces difficulty in explaining a wide range of post-verbal elements within subordinate clauses. To resolve the problem, the analysis has to abandon the obligatoriness of V-to-T movement or introduce various types of extraposition whose status is dubious as a legitimate syntactic operation. Obligatory V-to-T movement in Old English lacks conceptual justification as well. Crosslinguistic evidence reveals that morphological richness in verbal inflection cannot entail overt verb movement. Moreover, the operation is always string-vacuous under the asymmetric CP- V2 analysis and has no effect at the interfaces, in violation of the principle of economy. The distribution of Old English finite verbs in main clauses also undermines the asymmetric CP-V2 analysis. Conceptually speaking, a proper syntactic trigger cannot be confirmed to motivate obligatory verb movement to C. The operation not only gets little support from nominative Case marking, the distribution of expletives, or complementizer agreement but also requires the unconvincing stipulation that expletives as well as sentence-initial subjects result from string-vacuous topicalization. Finally, textual evidence testifies that Old English sometimes permits non-V2 ordering patterns, many of which remain unexplained under the asymmetric CP-V2 analysis.

Near-BER lossless Asymmetric 2PAM non-SIC NOMA with Low-Complexity and Low-Latency under User-Fairness

  • As the number of mobile devices has been increasing tremendously, system capacity should be enlarged in future next generation communication, such as the fifth-generation (5G) and beyond 5G (B5G) mobile networks. For such future networks, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been considered as promising multiple access technology. In this paper, to reduce both latency and complexity in existing NOMA, we propose non-successive interference cancellation (SIC) NOMA with asymmetric binary pulse amplitude modulation (2PAM), nearly without bit-error rate (BER) loss. First, we derive the closed form of BER expressions for non-SIC NOMA with asymmetric 2PAM, especially under Rayleigh fading channels. Then, it is shown that the BER performance of the stronger channel user who is supposed to perform SIC in conventional NOMA can be nearly achieved by the proposed non-SIC NOMA with asymmetric 2PAM, especially without SIC. Furthermore, we also show that the BER performance of the weaker channel user in conventional NOMA can be more closely achieved by the proposed non-SIC NOMA with asymmetric 2PAM. These BERs are shown to be achieved over the part of the power allocation range, which is consistent with the NOMA principle of user fairness. As a result, the non-SIC NOMA scheme with asymmetric 2PAM could be considered as a promising NOMA scheme toward next generation communication.

Effect of Asymmetric Hot Rolling on the Texture Evolution of Fe-3%Si Steel

  • In Fe-3%Si steel, the hot rolling process affects not only the hot rolling texture but also the primary recrystallization texture. Here, the effect of asymmetric hot rolling was studied by comparing the difference in the texture evolved between asymmetric and symmetric hot rolling. The effect of asymmetric hot rolling on the texture of primary recrystallized Fe-3%Si steel was also studied. The symmetric hot rolling of Fe-3%Si steel produces a rotated cube texture at the center but Goss and copper textures near the surface. Asymmetric hot rolling tends to produce Goss and copper textures even at the center like the texture near the surface. After primary recrystallization, the dominant texture at the center changes from {001} <210> to {111} <112> and the new texture has a higher fraction of the grains which make the low energy boundary with Goss grains than that of symmetric hot rolling.

  • 본 논문에서는 변동성의 비대칭성과 비정상성을 동시에 고려하고 있다. 다양한 변동성 모형을 분석하고 있으며 모수적-붓스트랩을 통한 예측분포를 이용하여 변동성 모형의 예측 성능을 비교하고 있다. 오차항 분포로서 표준정규분포 및 표준화 t-분포를 고려하였으며 1-시차 후 예측과 2-시차 후 예측을 미국의 다우지수 사례를 통해 설명하였다.

Symmetric and Asymmetric Approaches to Money Demand Determination in Indonesia: Is Divisia Money Relevant?

  • This study aims to examine whether symmetric effects or asymmetric effects of exchange rates exist in determining the money demand in Indonesia. Simple-sum money and Divisia money were included in different models for comparison due to the financial developments in Indonesia. This study uses time-series data from 1996Q1 to 2019Q4 for the estimation. The nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model is utilized to verify the asymmetric effects of exchange rates on money demand. The Augmented Dickey-Fuller and Phillips-Perron unit root tests were performed to verify the order of integration of the variables. The findings of this study revealed that the exchange rate is one of the most important determinants of money demand in Indonesia and the effect is asymmetric. The findings further indicated that money demand function, which incorporates Divisia monetary aggregate is parsimonious. Monetary targets such as money supply and interest rates are critical for monetary policy conduct to achieve inflation levels set by government. As the adoption of an inflation targeting framework needs to be in keeping with the flexible exchange rate system, the asymmetric effect of exchange rate changes can be used in exchange rate policy conduct to achieve financial system and price stability.

차량경로문제의 경로분할모형에 관한 연구 (A Route-Splitting Approach to the Vehicle Routing Problem)

  • 차량경로문제의 Set-Partitioning 모형에 적용된 열생성 프로세스에서 차량경로를 생성하는 하위문제는 순회외판원 문제와 같은 combinatorial 구조를 가지므로 연산상의 어려움이 크다. 본 논문은 각 차량경로를 분할하여 하위문제에서 분할된 부분경로를 생성하는 경로분할모형을 소개한다. 열생성이 용이해지는 반면 주문제가 복잡해지는 단점이 있으나 이 모형은 set-partitioning 모형으로 다루기 힘든 크기의 VRP에 접근하도록 한다. 경로분할모형은 최대 199곳의 수요지를 갖는 Symmetric VRP의 실험문제에서 평균93.5%, 수요지수 최대 70곳의 Asymmetric VRP의 실험문제에서 평균 97.6%의 하한값을 도출해 특히 Asymmetric VRP의 경우에서 잘 알려진 다른 하한값 기법들보다 우수함을 보였다. 개발된 Branch-and-Price 프로세스로는 도출된 하한값을 사용하여 수요지 최대 48곳의Asymmetric VRP의 최적해를 구할 수 있었다. 경로분할모형은 성능이 비교되는 다른 모형과 달리 다른 크기의 차량을 다룰 수 있는 장점이 있고, Asymmetric VRP 문제에서는 현재 가장 우수한 하한값을 제시한다. 이러한 점에서 본 모형은 향후 연구가치가 있다고 판단된다.

2단계 비대칭 압연과 열처리한 AA5083 Al 합금판재의 집합조직과 소성변형비 변화 (Texture and Plastic Strain Ratio Changes during a 2 Step Asymmetric Rolling and Annealing of AA5083 Al Alloy Sheet)

  • The plastic strain ratio is one of the factors that affect the deep drawability of Al alloy sheet. The deep drawability of Al alloy sheet is limited because of its low plastic strain ratio. Therefore an increase in the plastic strain ratio to improve the deep drawability of Al alloy sheet is needed. The current study investigated the increase of the plastic strain ratio and the change in texture of AA5083 Al alloy sheet after a 2 step asymmetric rolling with heat treatments. The average plastic strain ratio of initial AA5083 Al alloy sheets was 0.83. After the first asymmetric rolling step of 88% deformation and subsequent heat treatment at $320^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes the value was still 0.83. After the second asymmetric rolling of 14% reduction and subsequent heat treatment at $330^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes the plastic strain ratio rose to 1.01. The average plastic strain ratio after the 2 step asymmetric rolling and heat treatment is 1.2 times higher than that of initial AA5083 Al alloy sheet. This result is related to the development of ND/<111> texture component after the second asymmetric rolling and heat treatment.
