  • The purpose of this paper is to make a design and implementation of a diagnosis system of learning misconception of students who learn 'be' verb in the English language by using fuzzy theory. In this system, a fuzzy cognitive map exposes the fact that students' perception and misunderstanding about 'the English' language have an intertwined relationship, and diagnoses causes of misconceptions of students by using fuzzy memory associative memory. It suggests that since most existing systems of rule based expert system have had several limitations, this system will be applied to diagnose learners' misconception of learning in varieties of education areas.

  • It is important to understand how we can deal with doements for the modeling of neural networks when we are unbestigating the dynamical performance and the information procoessing capabilitids. The information procewssing capabkities of model neural networks will change for different response, synaptic weights or learning rules. Using the staritical neurodyamics method, we evalute the capabikities of neural networks in order to understand the basic conept ofr parallel distributed processing. In this paper, we explain the reuslts of theoretical anaysis of the effests of the hysteretic property on the performance of wuquential associative neral networks.

  • In this paper, We discuss optical implementation of new optical adaptive patern recognition system based on single layer perception with learning capability and associative memory model having error corrective capability. The single layer perceptron is optically implemented by using 2 D LCTV spatial light modulators through the nonlinear quantization and polarization encoding methods, and 2 D hopfield associative memory is also implemented by using multifocus holographic lens. From some experimental results on classfication of Arabic numbers into even & edd numbers, it is shown that the proposed system can classify the patterns to the right classes correctly even for the partial and erronenous input patterns. Accordingly, the proposed optical adaptive pattern recognition system can be suggested for practical application in the fields of image processing and pattern recognition.

  • We describe word boundary detection that extracts the boundary between speech and non-speech. The proposed method uses two features. One is the normalized root mean square of speech signal, which is insensitive to white noises and represents temporal information. The other is the normalized met-frequency band energy of voice signal, which is frequency information of the signal. Our method detects word boundaries using a recurrent fuzzy associative memory(RFAM) that extends FAM by adding recurrent nodes. Hebbian learning method is employed to establish the degree of association between an input and output. An error back-propagation algorithm is used for teaming the weights between the consequent layer and the recurrent layer. To confirm the effectiveness, we applied the suggested system to voice data obtained from KAIST.

  • In this paper, an algorithm of CBAM(Combination Bidirectional Associative Memory) model proposes, analyzes and tests CBAM model `s performancess by simulating with recalls and recognitions of patterns. In learning-procedure each correlation matrix of training patterns is obtained. As each correlation matrix's some elements correspond to juxtaposition, all correlation matrices are merged into one matrix (Combination Correlation Matrix, CCM). In recall-procedure, CCM is decomposed into a number of correlation matrices by spiliting its elements into the number of elements corresponding to all training patterns. Recalled patterns are obtained by multiplying input pattern with all correlation matrices and selecting a pattern which has the smallest value of energy function. By using a CBAM model, we have some advantages. First, all pattern having less than 20% of noise can be recalled. Second, memory capacity of CBAM model, can be further increased to include English alphabets or patterns. Third, learning time of CBAM model can be reduced greatly because of operation to make CCM.

  • We consider a class of auto-associative memories namely N-Cubes (Neural-network Cubes) in which 2-D gray-level images and hidden sinusoidal 1-D wavelets are stored in cubical memories. First we develop a learning procedure based upon the least-squares algorithm, Therefore each 2-D training image is mapped into the associated 1-D waveform in the training phase. Second we show how the recall procedure minimizes errors among the orthogonal basis functions in the hidden layer. As a 2-D images ould be retrieved in the recall phase. Simulation results confirm the efficiency and the noise-free properties of N-Cubes.

  • This paper presetns an adaptive critic self-learning control system with cerebellar model articulation controller (CMAC)-based decoder integrated with the associative search element (ASE) and adatpive critic element(ACE)- based scheme. The tast of the system is to balance a pole that is hinged to a movable cart by applying forces to the cart's base. The problem is that error feedback information is limited. This problem can be sloved when some adaptive control devices are involved. The ASE incorporates prediction information for reinforrcement from a critic to produce evaluative information for the plant. The CMAC-based decoder interprets one state to a set of patways into the ASE/ACE. These signals correspond to te current state and its possible preceding action states. The CMAC's information interpolation improves the learning speed. And design inverted pendulum hardware system to show control capability with neural network.

  • Recently, there are studies the argument that arithmetic rules established by the four fundamental arithmetic operations, in other words, commutative laws, associative laws, distributive laws, should be explicitly described in mathematics textbooks and the curriculum. These rules are currently implicitly presented or omitted from textbooks, but they contain important principles that foster mathematical thinking. This study aims to evaluate the current level of understanding of these computation rules and provide implications for the curriculum and textbook writing. To this end, the correct answer ratio of the five arithmetic rules for 1-4 grades 398 in five elementary schools was investigated and the type of error was analyzed and presented, and the subject to learn these rules and the points to be noted in teaching and learning were also presented. These results will help to clarify the achievement criteria and learning contents of the calculation rules, which were implicitly presented in existing national textbooks, in a new 2022 revised curriculum.

  • There has been much research focused on collaborative filtering technique in Recommender System. However, these studies have shown the First-Rater Problem and the Sparsity Problem. The main purpose of this Paper is to solve these Problems. In this Paper, we suggest the user's predicting preference method using Bayesian estimated value and the associative user clustering for the recalculation of preference. In addition to this method, to complement a shortcoming, which doesn't regard the attribution of item, we use Representative Attribute-Neighborhood method that is used for the prediction when we find the similar neighborhood through extracting the representative attribution, which most affect the preference. We improved the efficiency by using the associative user's clustering analysis in order to calculate the preference of specific item within the cluster item vector to the collaborative filtering algorithm. Besides, for the problem of the Sparsity and First-Rater, through using Association Rule Hypergraph Partitioning algorithm associative users are clustered according to the genre. New users are classified into one of these genres by Naive Bayes classifier. In addition, in order to get the similarity value between users belonged to the classified genre and new users, and this paper allows the different estimated value to item which user evaluated through Naive Bayes learning. As applying the preference granted the estimated value to Pearson correlation coefficient, it can make the higher accuracy because the errors that cause the missing value come less. We evaluate our method on a large collaborative filtering database of user rating and it significantly outperforms previous proposed method.

  • A rules of fuzzy control is to represent an expert‘s and engineer‘s ambiguous control knowledge of system with some lingustic rules. This rule is very difficult to represent perfectly because expert‘s knowledge is not precise and the rule is not perfect. We propose the fuzzy reasoning and learning to upgrade precision of imperfect rules successively after system running. In the proposed method, the precision of the backward part of a fuzzy rule is improved by back propagation learning method. Also, the method reasons the compatibility degree of the forward part of fuzzy rule by associative memory method. This method this is successfully applied to design auto-parking fuzzy controller in which expert‘s technology and knowledge are required in the limited area.
