Data were collected from Nov. 20 to Nov. 25, 2000 through self-reporting questionnaires taken by 280 nurses working at a university hospitals The 3 structured instruments were used for collecting the data; Questionnaires for measuring the utility and the problem of job rotation, Questionaires for measuring the satisfaction with the job rotation, and Mowday's Organizational Commitment Questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, range, Cronbach's alpha coefficients, Peason's correlation coefficients, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and chi-square test, multiple regression. The Results were as follows : 1. The supporters for regular job rotation account for 67% while the opponents to it account for 33%. The chief reason for endorsing the regular job rotation is quoted ${\lceil}$to attain more diverse job experiences${\rfloor}$, followed in order by ${\lceil}$to improve the job motivation and morale through the realization of personal needs${\rfloor}$, ${\lceil}$to place the right man in the right position${\rfloor}$. The reasons for opposing to the regular job rotation were listed in order ${\lceil}$difficulties to secure the expertise of nursing${\rfloor}$, ${\lceil}$personal needs not fully reflected in the job rotation${\rfloor}$, ${\lceil}$job rotations prompted rather by the administrative needs than by personal aptitude and ability${\rfloor}$. 2. In the assessment of job rotation, the points affirming the utility of the job rotation are $2.60({\pm}.66)$ out of possible 5 points and those admitting the problems the job rotation are $3.58({\pm}.59)$. The satisfaction with the job rotation is rated at $2.98({\pm}.55)$. 3. In the analysis into the relation between the assessment of job rotation and satisfaction with the job rotation, fairly high positive correlation is revealed between the satisfaction and utility of job rotation, whereas, considerably high negative correlation is seen between the satisfaction and problems with the job rotation(p=.000). 4. There is relatively high positive correlation between the satisfaction with the job rotation and organizational commitment(p=.000). In conclusion, the utility of on the job rotation and their satisfaction with the job rotation have positive correlation and the satisfaction with the job rotation and organizational commitment showed the positive correlation, too. Therefore, it is thought desirable to take administrative strategies well as education to improve the recognition of the job rotation's utility and to reduce the recognition of the problems with the job rotation to remain in the direction toward contributing to enhancement of the organizational commitment.

  • The power of human capital in a library is the main resource that determines the level of library services, which in turn should play a pivotal role in forming the intellectual power of the country. This research conducted a survey on the employment perspectives of LIS undergraduates, which resulted as follows. First, among the LIS undergraduates, 40% of students responded that their desire was to be employed in the library as librarians. Although there were some negative opinions regarding the working environment of the industry, the undergraduates appreciated the developmental possibilities. Second, the most desired task was working with cultural programs. Third, the respondents were satisfied with the current curriculum overall, acknowledging the extra need for job search support programs, which include career support, employment-related mentoring, and internships. Fourth, the main requirements for their future employability were perceived as grade point average, language skills, obtaining licenses, internship and apprenticeship experience, and career management. Fifth, influential factors on employment decision making were divided into two aspects: environmental and personal factors. The environmental factors included salary, welfare, opportunities in personal development, workplace environment, organizational culture, and development possibilities of the organization. The personal factors included fitness with personal aptitude, the level of knowledge and technology in the job industry, social norms and acknowledgement, rewarding opportunities with their major, and location of job.

  • This study examines the relationship between prior learning experience, the high school records, mathematics grade in the KSAT(Korean Scholastic Aptitude Test) and mathematics achievement, GPA(grade point average) of college freshmen. It analyses how much mathematics capacities in the time of high school affect mathematics achievement of college freshmen. This study surveyed 193 freshmen, attending in a college of science and engineering, taking the 'basic differential and integral calculus' lecture, which was opened for the first semester of 2014 in the A university. The data processing was fulfilled by means of technical statistics, correlation analysis, difference test, ANOVA, ex post facto test, and regression analysis. The outcomes of this survey are followings: Firstly, over 90 percent of college freshmen underwent prior learning of mathematics when they attended high school. Secondly, their perception of effectiveness for prior learning is founded to be meaningfully lower than their perception of its needfulness. Thirdly, while there is higher positive correlation between mathematics achievement and GPA in the college, there is little correlation between high school records and GPA in the college. Also, there is little correlation between mathematics grade in the KSAT and mathematics achievement in the college. Fourthly, the accomplishments in the high school(The high school records, mathematics grade in the KSAT) and the efforts, satisfaction, necessity, etc. for prior learning had little effect on academic achievement in college mathematics. Based on these results, this study makes some suggestions for developing academical achievement in college mathematics.

  • Teachers in music(including Korean traditional music) gifted education are a significant variable in both identifying the giftedness of students and a successful instruction. The purpose of this study is to develop the Scale for Screening the Qualified Teachers for the Gifted in Korean traditional and western Music(SSQTGM), and to examine the validity and reliability of the SSQTGM. To achieve this purpose, this study administered the SSQTGM to 175 teachers of gifted students aged between 13 and 15 in middle schools for the arts. To validate the SSQTGM, I analyzed the criteria of the SSQTGM, and conducted an exploratory and confirmative factor analysis. I also examined an internal consistency. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, I finally collected 41 items of the SSQTGM. Futhermore, I could identify psychological constructs of the qualified teachers for the gifted in Korean traditional and western music. In consequence of the confirmative factor analysis, the model provided a good fit to observe data. As a result of the reliability analysis, the internal consistency of knowledge in the music(korean traditional music) verified cronbach's ${\alpha}=.937$, and the expertise of the class management and instruction verified cronbach's ${\alpha}=.942$. Also, the teachers' aptitude and personality verified cronbach's ${\alpha}=.963$. This result of the construct validation reflects the fact that the SSQTGM is an available scale that can be applied in gifted education field instantly.
