  • The distribution and changes of tropospheric nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$) are analyzed using the satellite measurements data from GOME (Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment) and SCIMACHY (SCanning Imaging Absorption spectroMeter for Atmospheric CHartographY). We produced global maps of tropospheric $NO_2$ for 4 seasons using GOME measurements from January 1997 to June 2003. The global distribution shows high values in regions with dense population and high industrialization. Tropospheric $NO_2$ shows obvious seasonal changes depending on its emission and lifetime. Based on the good agreement between two instruments in the time period of overlapping measurements (January 2003-June2003), we linked SClAMACHY data to the GOME time series. The combined time series over the past decade indicate that $NO_2$ 1evels over China are rapidly increasing while those over Europe are decreasing. We also discussed potential application of spaceborne instruments in detecting and characterizing long-distance transport of $NO_2$.

  • In this paper, the method of controlling the clock that is inputted on the hardware from the application, and the hardware design method are to be proposed. When the hardware is synthesized to the Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA), the input clock is fixed, and when the input clock is changed, the synthesis process must be passed again to require more time. To solve this problem, the Mixed-Mode Clock Manager(MMCM) module is mounted to control the MMCM module from the application. The controlled MMCM module controls the input clock of the module. The experiment was process the Neural Network algorithm in the x86 CPU and SIMT based processor mounted the FPGA. The results of the experiment, SIMT-based processors, the time that is processed at a frequency of 50MHz was 77ms, 100MHz was 34ms. There was no additional synthesis time due to a change of the clock frequency.

  • I. Objectives Self-etching primer adhesive system is affected to dentin surface conditioning and priming. Especially application time of self-etching primer is very important factor of clinical procedure which has direct influence on smear layer, etching reaction and primer penetration to dentin. This study evaluated the influence of application time of self-etching primers on microtensile bond strength (${\mu}{\;}TBS$) to dentin using three self-etching primer adhesive systems.(omitted)

  • The objective of this study was to ,determine trinexapac-ethyl [4-(cyclopropyl- $\alpha$ -hydroxy-me-thylene)-3,5-dioxocyclohexanecarboxylic acid ethyl ester] effects on lodging-related traits of rice varieties treated at different application rates and times. Trinexapac-ethyl WP was applied at the rate of 10, 20 and 30g ai/l0a to Heukjinjubyeo and Daeanbyeo, respectively. Effects of trinexapacethyl varied greatly with application time as well as application rate with little differences between rice varieties. As the application rate increased, lodging index, center of gravity and exsertion of panicle above flag leaf decreased, whereas breaking strength and phytotoxicity increased. Exsertion of panicle was greatly influenced by the application time with a little difference by application rate. The most effective application time of trinexapac-ethyl based on lodging index and total internode length (Ist-4th node) was 2DBH(days before heading) in Heukjinjubyeo and 17DBH in Daeanbyeo, resulting in reducing total internode length by 12.9 and 9.7cm, respectively. A significant reduction was found at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd internodes in Heukjinjubyeo, while at the 2nd and 3rd internodes in Daeanbyeo. No significant difference was found among treatments in the panicle length of both rice varieties but the panicle fresh weights of Daeanbyeo were significantly greater in all trinexapac-ethyl treatments compared with that of the control when measured 20 days after heading. Consequently, trinexapacethyl treatment significantly improved lodging-related traits of rice plants without affecting rice yield and yield components.

  • Recently, a method for robust time reversal focusing has been introduced to extend the period of stable focusing in time-dependent ocean environments [S. Kim et al., J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 114, 145-157, (2003)]. In this study, concept of focal-size broadening based on waveguide invariant theory in an ocean time reversal acoustics is described. It is achieved by imposing the multiple location constraints. The signal vector used in multiple location constraints are found from the theory on waveguide invariant for frequency band corresponding the extended focal range. The broadening of foci in an ocean waveguide can play an important role in the application of time reversal processing, particularly to the underwater acoustic communication with moving vehicles. The proposed method is demonstrated in the context of the underwater acoustic communication from the transmit/receive array (TRA) to a slowly moving vehicle.

  • The COMS LRIT/HRIT broadcast service should satisfy the 15 minutes timeliness requirement. The timeliness requirement is an important enough to impact on the overall performance of LHGS. Therefore, the simulation for the LHGS processing was performed with the LHGS prototype in this paper. First, processing time is measured for each process (per modules) of the LHGS without I/O time. Then, the LHGS processing is performed with worst scenario and the processing time is measured. Finally, analyses for processing time and time constraint are performed.

  • We have developed an optimization algorithm based formulation for performing efficient time driven simultaneous place and route for FPGAs. Field programmable gate array (FPGAs) provide of drastically reducing the turn-around time for digital ICs, with a relatively small degradation in performance. For a variety of application specific integrated circuit application, where time-to-market is most critical and the performance requirement do not mandate a custom or semicustom approach, FPGAs are an increasingly popular alternative. This has prompted a substantial amount of specialized synthesis and layout research focused on maximizing density, minimizing delay, and minimizing design time.

  • This paper describes a real-time EtherCAT Master library. The library is developed using Xenomai. Xenomai is a real-time development framework. It cooperates with the Linux kernel, in order to provide a pervasive, interface-agnostic, hard real-time support to user-space applications, seamlessly integrated into the GNU/Linux environment. The proposed master library implements EtherCAT protocol for master side, and supports Application Programming Interfaces(APIs) for programming of real-time application which controls EtherCAT slave.

  • Laser welding application for car body manufacturing has many advantages in the stiffness and the lightness of vehicle, the productivity of assembly line, and the degree of freedom in design. This presentation will express the innovation of car body manufacturing including parameter optimization, process modeling, and system integration. In this application the investment for systems was cut down dramatically by real time switching over the laser path between two welding stations. Points of technical discussion are as follows; optimization of parameters such as laser power, robot speed and trajectory, compact and useful design of jig & fixture to assure welding quality for 3 sheet-layer zinc-coated steel, system integration between 4㎾ Nd:YAG laser device and the other systems, on-line real time welding quality monitoring system, perfect safety standards for high power laser, minimization of consumption costs such as arc lamp, protective glass for optic, etc. This application was successfully launched mass production line in 2001. The laser-welded line of side panel consists of 122 stitches totally. And the length is about 2.4m.
