  • In this paper we proposed dynamic adaptive model based on discrete probabilistic distribution functions and user's profile for web media systems(web based hypermedia systems). The model represented that the application domain is modelled using a weighted direct graph and the user's behaviour is modelled using a probabilistic approach that dynamically constructs a discrete probability distribution functions. The proposed probabilistic interpretation of the web media structure is used to characterize latent properties of the user's behaviour, which can be captured by tracking user's browsing activity. Using that distribution the system attempts to assign the user to the best profile that fits user's expectations.

  • This paper presents an optimization method which determines locations and size of capacitors simultaneously while minimizing power losses and improving voltage profile in radial distribution systems. Especially, the cost function associated with capacitor placement is considered as step function due to banks of standard discrete capacities. Genetic algorithms(GA) are used to obtain efficiently the solution of the cost function associated with capacitors which is non-continuous and non-differentiable function. The strings in GA consist of the node number index and size of capacitors to be installed. The length mutation operator, which is able to change the length of strings in each generation, is used. The proposed method which determines locations and size of capacitors simultaneously can reduce power losses and improve' voltage profile with capacitors of minimum size. Its efficiency is proved through the application in radial distribution systems.

  • An internal finishing process applying Magnetic Abrasive Finishing (MAF) was proposed to produce smooth inner surfaces of tubes at a high rate. Since this process uses the tube rotation system, it has been considered applicable only to tubes which are rotatable at high speeds. Here development of the stainless tube(STS 304) rotation system to extend the scope of the application of the internal finishing process applying MAF was made. By the stainless tube(STS 304) rotation system, the abrasive magnetically attracted by the poles is rotated along the inner surface of the tube by magnetic force together with fixed poles, finishing the inner surface of the tube. The main results obtained are as follows : 1) The magnet abrasive finishing minimized influence due to external force because non-contact finishing, 2) The profile of surface roughness decreased very good in 11.4m/min range because abrasive size and speed, 3) The profile of surface roughness by flux density decreased in finishing speed 28m/min, 4) The profile of surface roughness by fled rate decreased in 0.16mm/rev and 0.18mm/rev.

  • Railway system is today the most efficient way for transportation in many cases in several forms of application. Yet, wear phenomenon, profile evolution, fatigue, fracture, derailment are the major worries (financial and safety) in this system which force significant direct and indirect maintenance costs. To improve the cyclic maintenance procedures and the safety issues, it can be very satisfactory to be informed of the state of wheel/rail interaction with mileage. In present paper, an investigation of the behavior of the shear stresses by logged distance is approached, by implementing the field measurement procedure, in order to determine the real conduct of the most important cause of defects in wheel/rail contact, shear stress. The results coming from a simulation procedure indicate that the amounts of shear stresses are still in high-magnitudes when the wheel and rail are completely worn; even though in simulation based on the laboratory measurements of profile evolutions, the stresses become significantly reduced by logged distance.

  • Gadolinium contrast agents (CAs) are integral components of clinical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, safety concerns have arisen regarding the use of gadolinium CAs, due to their association with nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF). Furthermore, recently the long-term retention of $Gd^{3+}-based$ CAs in brains patients with normal renal function raised another possible safety issue. The safety concerns of $Gd^{3+}-based$ CAs have been based on the ligand structure of $Gd^{3+}-based$ CAs, and findings that $Gd^{3+}-based$ CAs with linear ligand structures showed much higher incidences of NSF and brain retention of CAs than $Gd^{3+}-based$ CAs with macrocyclic ligand structure. In the current study, we report the in vivo biodistribution profile of a new highly stable multifunctional $Gd^{3+}-based$ CA, with macrocyclic ligand structure (HNP-2006). MR imaging using HNP-2006 demonstrated a significant contrast enhancement in many different organs. Furthermore, the contrast enhanced tumor imaging using HNP-2006 confirmed that this new macrocyclic CA can be used for detecting tumor in the central nervous system. Therefore, this new multifunctional HNP-2006 with macrocyclic ligand structure shows great promise for whole-body clinical application.

  • Purpose: This study was done to assess the influence of application time of Lidocaine patch on pain intensity following venipuncture in hospital. Methods: The participants were 31 adult patients admitted to J hospital in G city. Patients' anxiety, blood pressure and pulse were measured when no patch was applied and when a patch was applied. To evaluate the pain intensity and physiological index caused by venipuncture, blood pressure, pulse and pain intensity were checked for patients in the no patch group, and for a 5 minutes of application and 30 minutes application patch. Pain was evaluated using a visual analogue scale, anxiety using the Profile of Mood states developed McNair et al. and modified by Lee. Data were analyzed using one-way repeated measures ANOVA with the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: Anxiety and pain were significantly reduced when a lidocaine patch was applied following venipuncture. There was no significant difference in pain intensity whether the lidocaine patch application is for 30 minutes or application for 5 minutes. Conclusion: Results of this study show that application of lidocaine patch can be used as a nursing intervention for pain reduction by showing that there is no need to wait a long time for pain to be reduced.

  • A new method of analyzing downhole seismic data is presented. The method is based upon inverse theory and can be used to resolve wave velocity profiles to a much greater accuracy than possible with conventional analysis methods such as direct or interval measurements. In addition, use of inverse theory permits a rational basis for judging the quality of the velocity profile. Five case studies are presented to illustrate application of the inversion method at various geological formations.

  • In this study, to develop angle ring pressboards for high voltage transformers, the radius and thickness are modified under the conditions of temperature and humidity. In particular, a pressboard with a thickness of 6 mm and a radius at the angled part were investigated based on the simulation of the principal stress from the angled optimization profile shape. As a result, by the appropriate application of a higher temperature, the solid insulation can be improved to reduce the moisture content for an optimized profile angle of a high voltage transformer. This also results in the improvement of the safety factor by 25%. It is determined that the electrical insulation properties of pressboards in high voltage transformers can be enhanced by improving their properties.

  • In bulk metal forming processes prediction of tool life is very important for saving production cost and achieving good material properties. Generally the service life of tools in metal forming process is limited to a large extent by wear, fracture and plastic deformation of tools. In case of hot and warm forging processes tool life depends on wear over 70%. In this study finite element analyses are con-ducted to warm and hot forging by adopting suggested wear model. By comparison of simulation and eal profile of die suggested wear model. By comparison of simulation and real profile of die suggested model is verified.

  • In the continuing quest for increased turbomachinery efficiency, the part played by blade profile shape remains crucial. The application of a heated thin metallic film with CTA(constant temperature anemometer) to the measurements of the laminar and turbulent boundary layer behavior(shock-boundary layer-interaction) in a transonic wind tunnel. Results of measurements with hot-film sensors on transonic compressor blades are extremely difficult to interpret because of ambiguous probe signals due to the complexity of the local flow pattern. In order to get the explicit information and give the designer to interpret characteristic signals from hot-film probes, a method was developed by comparing the results with other measuring technic results.
