The ground resonance instability of a helicopter with bearingless main rotor hub were investigated. The ground resonance instability is caused by an interaction between the blade lag motion and hub inplane motion. This instability occurs when the helicopter is on the ground and is important for soft-inplane rotors where the rotating lag mode frequency is less than the rotor rotational speed. For the analysis, the bearingless rotor was composed of blades, flexbeam, torque tube, damper, shear restrainer, and pitch links. The fuselage was modeled as a mass-damper-spring system having natural frequencies in roll and pitch motions. The rotor-fuselage coupling equations are derived in non-rotating frame to consider the rotor and fuselage equations in the same frame. The ground resonance instabilities for three cases where are without lead-lag damper and fuselage damping, with lead-lag damper and without fuselage damping, and finally with lead-lag damper and fuselage damping. There is no ground resonance instability in the only rotor-fuselage configuration with lead-lag damper and fuselage damping.
A 3-year-old female, 5kg, Shih-tzu developed an acute onset of depression, disorientation, hypersalivation, nystagmus after falling down 2 meter height place. In plain skull radiography, there was fracture line in the frontal and parietal bones and next day magnetic resonance imaging examination was performed. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain was performed with 3.0 Tesla unit. Under general anesthesia, the dog was placed in prone with its head positioned in a birdcage coil. Transverse, sagittal and coronal fast spin echo images of the brain were obtained with the following pulse sequences: T1 weighted images (TR = 560 ms and TE = 18.6 ms) and T2 weighted images (TR = 3500 ms and TE = 80 ms). Magnetic resonance imaging showed epidural hematoma in the left frontal area resulting in compression of the adjacent brain parenchyma. Left lateral ventricle was compressed secondarily and the longitudinal fissure shifted to the right, representing mass effect. The lesion was iso-to slightly hyperintense on T1 weighted image and iso-slightly hypointense signal on T2 weighted image. At necropsy, there was a skull fracture and epidural hematoma in the left frontal area. Magnetic resonance imaging of epidural hematoma is reviewed.

Elastic wave propagation in discrete random medium is studied to evaluate the effects of particle resonance on dispersion and attenuation of composite materials containing spherical inclusions. The frequency-dependent wave speed and attenuation coefficient can be obtained from proposed self-consistent method. It can be observed that the abrupt increase of effective wave speed and the concurrent peak of attenuation at low frequency is due to the lowest resonance of particles, whereas those in high frequency region are due to higher ones. The lowest resonance is mainly caused by the density mismatch and higher resonances by the stiffness mismatch between matrix and particles. The dispersion and attenuation of elastic waves in particulate composites are affected by the lowest resonance much than by higher ones.
A composite piezoelectric ceramic transducer is fabricated with three piezoelectric ceramic disk vibrators and two sheets of thin insulator. Its equivalent circuit is derived from the Mason's model of a thickness-driven piezoelectric vibrator. When the electric input near its fundamental resonance frequency is applied to the center vibrator and the output voltages across the left and the right vibrators are connected in series to the resistor loads, the load characteristics at resonance frequencies under the various resistor loads and the frequency characteristics near the resonance frequency without load are investigated. Furthermore, symbolic expressions for input impedances, voltage ratios, resonance frequencies, and bandwidths are derived. The data calculated from those symbolic expressions are agreed well with the measurement data.
The CRISPR-Cas system is the adaptive immune system in bacteria and archaea against invading phages or foreign plasmids. In the type II CRISPR-Cas system, an endonuclease Cas9 cleaves DNA targets of phages as directed by guide RNA comprising crRNA and tracrRNA. To avoid targeting and destruction by Cas9, phages employ anti-CRISPR (Acr) proteins that act against host bacterial immunity by inactivating the CRISPR-Cas system. Here we report the backbone $^1H$, $^{15}N$, and $^{13}C$ resonance assignments of AcrIIA4 that inhibits endonuclease activity of type II-A Listeria monocytogenes Cas9 and also Streptococcus pyogenesis Cas9 using triple resonance nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The secondary structures of AcrIIA4 predicted by the backbone chemical shifts show an ${\alpha}{\beta}{\beta}{\beta}{\alpha}{\alpha}$ fold, which is used to determine the solution structure.
The ferromagnetic resonance and other magnetic properties dependence on $Ni^{2+}/Fe^{3+}$ ratio and crystallite size were investigated for nano nickel ferrite ($NiFe_2O_4$). The crystallite size was controlled by controlling the nickel content in the starting material solution. The XRD and TEM were utilized to measure the crystallite size through Scherrer formula and particle size respectively. The most frequent particle sizes were lower than crystallite size, which ranged from 16.5 to 44.65 nm. The general behavior of M-H loop shapes and parameters showed superparamagnetic one. The saturation magnetization had a maximum value at $Ni^{2+}/Fe^{3+}$ molar ratio equal to 0.186. The FMR signals showed, generally, broad linewidths, where the maximum width and minimum resonance field were for the sample of the lowest crystalline size. Furthermore, FMR resonance field shows linear dependence on crystalline size. The fitting relation was estimated to express this linear dependency on the base of behavior coincidence between particle size and the inverse of saturation magnetization. The given interpretations to understand the intercept and the slope meanings of the fitted relation were based on Larmor equation, and inhomogeneous in the anisotropy constant.

Structural collapses can occur as a result of a dynamic amplification of either, the building's seismic response or the ground shaking by local site effects; one of the reasons is a resonance effect due to the proximity of the structural elastic fundamental period TE and the soil fundamental period TS. We evaluate the vulnerability to resonance effects in Guadalajara, México, in a three-step schema: 1) we define structural systems in the building environment of western Guadalajara, in terms of their construction materials and structural components; 2) we estimate TE with different equations, to obtain a representative value in elastic conditions for each structural system; and, 3) we evaluate the resonance vulnerability by the analysis of the ratio between TE and TS. We observe that the larger the soil fundamental period, the higher the resonance vulnerability for buildings with height between 17 and 39 m. For the sites with a low TS, the most vulnerable buildings will be those with a height between 2 and 9 m. These results can be a helpful tool for disaster prevention, by avoiding the construction of buildings with certain heights and structural characteristics that would result in a dangerous proximity between TE and TS.

Syndesmos, which is co-localized with syndecan-4 cytoplasmic domain ($Syn4^{cyto}$) in focal contacts, interacts with various cell adhesion adaptor proteins including $Syn4^{cyto}$ to control cell signaling. Syndesmos consists of 211 amino acids and it exists as a dimer (44kDa) in solution. Recently, we have determined the structure of syndesmos by x-ray crystallography, however, dynamics related to syndecan binding still remain elusive. In this report, we performed NMR experiments to acquire biochemical and structural information of syndesmos. Based on a series of three-dimensional triple resonance experiments on a $^{13}C/^{15}N/^2H$ labeled protein, NMR spectra were obtained with well dispersed and homogeneous NMR data. We present the sequence specific backbone assignment of syndesmos and assigned NMR data with combination structural information can be directly used for the studies on interaction with $Syn4^{cyto}$ and other binding molecules.
Shear wane velocity is important property for grasping the dynamic characteristics of material. It is has been used in various fields such as non-destructive testings of structures, seismic analysis of geotechnical structures and maintenance of concrete structure, and etc. Usually, shear wave velocities of rock cores and concrete cylinders are determined by free-free resonance tests, Shear wave measurement in free-free resonance tests is not straightforward, as compared with rod wave and flexural wane measurements. In This study, a new technique using resonance features of flexural and shear waves were proposed in which the nodal points for the fundamental mode of flexural waves were employed to generate and measure the shear waves with the flexural waves minimized. The real measurements for aluminum cylinders proved validity and reliability of the proposed algorithm. In addition to the proposed algorithm, the effects of material properties on elastic-wave velocities in resonance measurements were also studied. In summary, a new framework of the resonance measurements for shear-wave velocity determination was established, based on the results of this thesis.
This paper presents a new analytical model to suppress RLC resonance effects in power/ground lines due to a decoupling capacitor. First, the resonance frequency of an RLC circuit which is composed of package inductance. decoupling capacitor, and output drivers is accurately estimated. Next, using the estimated resonance frequency, a suitable decoupling capacitor sire is determined. Then, a novel design methodology to suppress the resonance effects is developed. Finally, its validity is shown by using $0.18 {\mu}m$ process-based-HSPICE simulation.
