  • [ $^{11}B$ ] nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements were performed on the single crystals of $TbB_4$ to investigate local electronic structure and 4f spin dynamics. $^{11}B$ NMR spectrum, Knight shift, spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation rates were measured down to 4K at 8T. $^{11}B$ NMR shift and linewidth are huge and strongly temperature dependent due to the 4f moments. In addition, both are proportional to magnetic susceptibility, indicating that the hyperfine field at the boron site originates from the 4f spins of Tb. Below $T_N$, the single broad resonance peak of $^{11}B$ NMR splits into several peaks reflecting the local magnetic fields due to antiferromagnetic spin arrangements. The longitudinal and the transverse relaxation rates, $1/T_1\;and\;1/T_2$, independent of temperature above $T_N$, decreases tremendously confirming huge suppression of spin fluctuation below $T_N$.

  • Arteriosclerosis is the leading cause of stroke, with a fatality rate surpassing that of ischemic heart disease. High-resolution vessel wall magnetic resonance imaging is generally recognized as a non-invasive and panoramic method for the evaluation of arterial plaque; however, this method requires improved signal-to-noise ratio and scanning speed. Recent advances in high-density head and neck coil arrays are characterized by broad coverage, multiple channels, and closefitting designs. This review analyzes fast magnetic resonance imaging from the perspective of accelerated algorithms for vessel wall imaging and demonstrates the need for effective algorithms for signal acquisition using advanced radiofrequency system. We summarize different phased-array structures under various experimental objectives and equipment conditions, introduce current research results, and propose prospective research studies in the future.

  • Film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) using AIN reactively sputtered at room temperature was fabricated. The FBAR is composed of a piezoelectric aluminium nitride thin film, top electrode of Al and bottom electrode of Au connected by a short (200${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) transmission line on both sides and reflector layers of SiO$_2$- W Pair. The active areas of Al and Au were patterned using 150${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ diameter shadow mask. The series resonance frequency (fs) and the parallel resonance frequency (fp) were measured at 1.976 GHz and 2.005 GHz, respectively. The minimum insertion loss and return loss were 6.1 dB and 37.19 dB, and the quality factor (Q) was 4261.

  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an advanced diagnostic tool used in both medicine and dentistry. Since it functions based on a strong uniform static magnetic field and radiofrequency pulses, it is advantageous over imaging techniques that rely on ionizing radiation. Unfortunately, the magnetic field and radiofrequency pulses generated within the magnetic resonance imager interact unfavorably with dental materials that have magnetic properties. This leads to unwanted effects such as artifact formation, heat generation, and mechanical displacement. These are a potential source of damage to the oral tissue surrounding the affected dental materials. This review aims to compile, based on the current available evidence, recommendations for dentists and radiologists regarding the safety and appropriate management of dental materials during MRI in patients with orthodontic appliances, maxillofacial prostheses, dental implants, direct and indirect restorative materials, and endodontic materials.

  • Crohn's disease is a chronic idiopathic inflammatory disease of the intestines characterized by frequent relapse and remission. It often develops in children and adolescents, who are vulnerable to repeated exposure to ionizing radiations. Magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) is an increasingly important radiation-free imaging modality that is used to evaluate pediatric patients with Crohn's disease. MRE can evaluate extraluminal and extraintestinal abnormalities as well as the status of the bowel wall. In addition, MRE has an advantage in the evaluation of the small bowel involvement. MRE can be used for the initial diagnosis of Crohn's disease, and can aid in the assessment of disease activity and complications such as penetrating and fibrostenotic diseases. The aims of this article are to review the MRE technique for obtaining diagnostic and high-quality images and to discuss interpretations of imaging findings in patients with Crohn's disease.

  • In this paper, cobalt (Co)-electrode FBAR devices fabricated on seven-layered Bragg Reflectors are presented along with their resonance characteristics. ZnO films are used as the resonating material in FBAR devices where the Co electrode is 3000$\AA$ thick. All processes are preformed in an RF magnetron sputtering system. As a result of characterization, the resonance characteristics are observed to depend strongly on the quality of ZnO film and Bragg Reflectors. In addition, the FBAR devices with W/SiO$_2$ reflectors show good resonance characteristics in term of return loss and quality-factor (Q-factor).

  • The solvolysis rate constants of 3,4- (1) and 3,5-dimethoxybenzoyl (2) chlorides were measured in various pure and binary solvents at $25.0^{\circ}C$, and studied by application of the extended Grunwald-Winstein (G-W) equation, kinetic solvent isotope effect in methanolysis and activation parameters. The solvolysis of 1 was interpreted as the unimolecular pathway due to a predominant resonance effect from para-methoxy substituent like 4-methoxybenzoyl chloride (3), while that of 2 was evaluated as the dual mechanism, with unimolecular or bimolecular reaction pathway according to the character of solvent systems (high electrophilic/nucleophilic) chosen, caused by the inductive effect by two meta-methoxy substituents, no resonance one. In the solvolyses of 1 and 2 with two $-OCH_3$ groups, the resonance effect of para-methoxy substituent is more important to decide the mechanism than the inductive effect with other corresponding evidences.

  • Recent development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment enables interventional radiology (IVR) as diagnosis and treatment under MRI usage. In this paper, a new methodology for magnetic resonance (MR) scanner to apply not only diagnostic equipment but for treatment one is discussed. The temperature measuring procedure under MR is to measure phase shift of $T_1$, which is the longitudinal relaxation time of proton, for the position inside a sample material with the application of pulsed RF for heating inside the sample as artificial dielectrics. The result shows the possibility to apply MR as temperature measuring equipment and as a heating equipment for applying such as hyperthermia heating modality.

  • In this paper, we discuss an efficient steady-state analysis of reactance oscillators having multiple oscillations. Our oscillator is consisted of the Cauer or Foster reactance sub-circuit and a negative resistor such as tunnel diode. The reactance circuit has many resonance and antiresonance points on the frequency response curve. Such a circuit having the specified resonance and anti-resonance points can be easily synthesized with the fundamental circuit theory. In this case, the multiple oscillations may occur near at the anti-resonance points. We have developed a user friendly simulator for getting the exact steady state responses using the SPICE.
