Robust High Gain Adaptive Output Feedback Control for Nonlinear Systems with Uncertain Nonlinearities in Control Input Term

  • It is well known that one can easily design a high-gain adaptive output feedback control for a class of nonlinear systems which satisfy a certain condition so called output feedback exponential passivity (OFEP). The designed high gain adaptive controller has simple structure and high robustness with regard to bounded disterbances and unknown order of the controlled system. However, from the viewpoint of practical application, it is important to consider a robust control scheme for controlled systems for which some of the assumptions of output feedback stabilization are not valid. In this paper, we deal with a design problem of the robust high-gain adaptive output feedback control for the OFEP nonlinear systems with uncertain nonlinearities and/or disturbances.

The Novel Low-Voltage High-Gain Transresistance Amplifier Design (새로운 구조의 저전압 고이득 트랜스레지스턴스 증폭기 설계)

  • A new CMOS transresistance amplifier for low-voltage analog integrated circuit design applications is presented. The proposed transresistance amplifier circuit based on common-source and negative feedback topology is compared with other recent reported transresistance amplifier. The proposed transresistance amplifier achieves high transresistance gain, gain-bandwidth with the same input/output impedance and the minimum supply voltage $2V_{DSAT}+V_T$. Hspice simulation using 1.8V TSMC $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology was performed and achieved $59dB{\Omega}$ transresistance gain which is above the maximum about $18dB{\Omega}$ compared to transresistance gain of the reported circuit.

  • This paper presents a switched capacitor (SC) based bidirectional dc-dc converter topology for high voltage gain applications. The proposed converter is able to operate with multiple integral voltage conversion ratios based on user input. The architecture of a user-friendly, inductor-less multi-voltage-gain bidirectional dc-dc converter is proposed in this study. The inductor-less or magnetic-less design of the proposed converter makes it effective in higher temperature applications. Furthermore, the proposed converter has a reduced component count and lower voltage stress across its switches and capacitors when compared to existing SC converters. An output impedance analysis of the proposed converter is presented and compared with popular existing SC converters. The proposed converter is simulated in the OrCAD PSpice environment and the obtained results are presented. A 200 W hardware prototype of the proposed SC converter has been developed. Experimental results are presented to validate the efficacy of the proposed converter.

  • In this paper we propose the Digital Automatic Gain Controller for IEEE 802.11a-High-speed Physical Layer in the 5 GHz Band. The input gain it estimated by calculating the energy of the training symbol that it a synchronizing signal. The renewal gain is calculated by comparing the estimated gain with the ideal gain. The renewal gain is converted into the controlled voltage for GCA to reduce or amplify the input signals. We used a piecewise-linear approximation to reduce the hardware size. The gain control is performed seven times to provide more accurate gain control. The proposed automatic gain controller is designed with VHDL and verified by using the Xilinx FPGA.

  • This paper suggests anon-isolated high-gain boost converter using voltage-stacking cell. The voltage gain can be increased by adjusting number of voltage-stacking cells and transformer turns-ratio. Test results with 1kW prototype converter show that the voltage gain is three or four times higher than conventional boost converter at unity transformer turns-ratio and about 90% of efficiency is recorded under full load condition.

  • An adaptive output feedback controller is designed for tracking control of an n-link robot manipulator with unknown load. High-gain observers with same structure as error dynamic systems are used to estimate joint velocities. The parameter adaptation is achieved by the smoothed projection algorithm. The control inputs are saturated outside a domain of interest. Simulation results on a 2-link manipulator illustrate that when the speed of the high-gain observer is sufficiently high, the proposed controller recovers the performance under state feedback control.

  • This paper presents a balanced CMOS complementary folded cascode OP-AMP topology that achieves improved DC gain using the gain boosting technique, a high unity-gain frequency and improved slew rate using the CMOS complementary cascode structure and a high PSRR using the balanced output stage. Bode-plot measurements of a balanced CMOS complementary folded cascode OP-AMP show a DC gain of 80dB, a unity-gain frequency of 110MHz and a slew rate of $274V/{\mu}s$(1pF load). This balanced CMOS complementary folded cascode OP-AMP is well suited for high frequency analog signal processing applications.

  • This paper proposes a robust high-gain observer design scheme for nonlinear systems and its stability is analyzed based on Lyapunov theory. It is assumed that their states are unmeasurable. The proposed high-gain observer has the integrator of the estimation error in dynamics. It improves the performance of high-gain observers and makes the proposed observer robust to noisy measurements, uncertainties and peaking phenomenon as well. Its stability is analyzed by the Lyapunov approach. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, it is applied to output feedback controllers and some comparative simulation result with the existed observer based output feedback controllers and state feedback controllers is given.

  • In this thesis, it is a purpose to carry out speed control of DC servo motor without using encoder and the resolver which are speed sensor of DC servo motor and it should use estimate algorithm or observer and must assume a speed in order to control speed sensorless. Therefore, high gain observer was designed to estimate rotor speed of DC servo motor and it carries out speed control from the feedback of the speed that assumed done in the thesis. Also, implementation used easy PI controller in speed-controller of DC motor though it was simple. It is compared estimate performance of Luenberger and high gain observer in a way of computer simulation in order to verify performance of the high gain observer which proposed in this thesis, and proved excellency of the high gain observer. And the thesis proved that smooth speed sensorless control of DC servo motor was implemented in invariable driving.

  • This paper considers robust stability and transient behavior of the Two - Degree - of - Freedom(2DOF) servosystem. A class of uncertainties allowed in the plant model is obtained, to which the servosystem is robustly stable for any gain of the integral compensator. This result implies that if the plant uncertainty is the allowable set defined by the condition, a high - gain compensation can be carried out preserving stability to achieve a high - speed tracking response. The transient behavior attainable by the limit of the high - gain compensation is calculated using the singular perturbation approach.
