Color is basically composed of hue, saturation and value. Many objects are made up with color. When people see color, they feel different emotion because of different combination of hue, saturation and value of different colors. Thus, people feel different feeling about the taste of food depending on its color. Thus, by analyzing what color makes people feel tasty about food, we can make food to look more delicious. When people take pictures of food, theyusually do not consider this into account. However if we apply this technology into taking pictures of food, we can make the food look more delicious. This technology can be applied when people want to upload pictures of food in blog, homepage and twitter and so on. In this paper, we analyze the feelings of color of people and then choose the best color combination to present food. After that we change the original image into the new one based on the analysis of color. This way, we can reflect each user's preference.

This study establishes a fashion theory frame to forecast future fashion cycles of pants through analyzing past fashion cycles of pants through a diachronic method. Pants pictures from 1967-2012, post-industrialized period of Korea were analyzed. Representative pant styles, fashion cycles of pants and the relation of pant styles, length and width were identified. The total of 1006 pictures in fashion magazine published over 46 years were selected and analyzed using PASW 18.0 (statistical program). The results are as follows. For 46 years, representative pant styles were skinny, regular and bell-bottom. The first cycle period was from 1969 to 1992 and lasted 24 years. The second cycle period was from 1993 to 2003 and lasted 11 years. The third cycle is ongoing as of 2004. Fashion cycles have shown a general trend to be shortened. The relation between pant styles, length and width revealed related results; in addition, pant length and width changed significantly in a similar orientation. Fashion marketers can develop successful products using fashion cycle theory from these results.

This study intended to examine the differences through comparative analysis of the illustrations and contents in the 3rd-6th grade elementary science textbooks of Korea and Finland. The analysis of the types and illustrations in the Korean and Finnish textbooks revealed that the textbooks of both counties provide many photographs and illustrations, so as to deliver data mainly in the form of realistic illustration. In Korean textbooks, photographs were mainly used to guide the students into experiments and to train the students in analyzing and interpreting data. In contrast, the Finnish textbooks place more emphasis on pictures and photographs to enhance their interests and curiosity and understand. The Korean textbooks should place more emphasis on the pictures in order to encourage elementary school students to interest and understand. As a result the addition of more diverse forms of illustrations and the re-organization of illustrations according to the topic should be considered in future Korean textbooks.

This study reveals the aesthetic characteristics and formative characteristics of the converged images of romantic sportism by analyzing how sportism fashion and romantic images fuse together. As for research methods, this study examines the aesthetic and formative characteristics of sportism fashion and the aesthetic and formative characteristics of romantic styles after grasping the basic concept and background based on a literature study of romantic and sportism fashion. As for an empirical study, the styles of sportism fashion pictures of romantic images collected from 2010 S/S to 2016 S/S from www.vogue.com were analyzed. The study results showed that there are 4 aesthetic characteristics of romantic sportism in modern fashion that included 'non-oriented form visibility', 'non-boundary sensibility', 'multi-sense blend', and 'non-formal mixed usage'. The formative characteristics based on these aesthetic characteristics are also derived in accordance with design factors as well as analyzed through representative pictures.

This study verified the 'Hemline Index' theory by George (1926) and established a new fashion theory frame to forecast future fashion cycles of skirts by analyzing the past fashion cycle of skirts through a diachronic method. Skirt pictures from 1980-2013 (the post-industrialized period of Korea) were analyzed and representative skirt styles, the fashion cycle of skirts and relation between skirt style, length, width and stock index were identified. A total of 1496 pictures in fashion magazine published over 34 years were selected and analyzed using PASW 18.0. The results were: For 34 years, representative skirts styles were mini skirt, midi skirt and long skirt. Fashion trend cycles of skirt length decreased for 10 years and the fashion cycle showed a trend to shorten. Skirt length & stock index related negatively and skirt length & skirt width related positively. All relations revealed significant results. Finally, the 'Hemline Index' theory of George (1926) was verified. Fashion marketers can develop successful and suitable products using a fashion cycle theory based on the results of this study.

The purpose of this study is to analyze movie costume of main character and find design characteristic and historical spirit focusing on the movie, in which Ishioka Eiko, Japanese movie costume designer constructing unique design world, participated. The study captured images of three movies such as , and with Digital Multimedia Converting System and analyzed them by focusing on the pictures showing designer's intention and design characteristic well among acquired 319 pictures. The costumes addressing movie costume designer's sense of values are recreated as future-oriented new works and are expressed as creative costumes by acquiring inspiration from past factors, dissolving them and applying up-to-date technology. Movie costume shall reflect historical spirit of our age as movie shows social cultural trend including fashion trend of manufactured age. Ishioka Eiko has searched for the design, which is proper for three principles such as 'be unique', 'be eternal' and 'be innovative' and from the result of analyzing movie costume, it is found that she showed characteristics of symbolism(transmission of the sensitivity), ornamentalism(effective representation as a decorative effect attention) and multiculturalism(harmony of time and culture) as well as uniqueness. The movie costume are different mutually and create new hybrid culture, in which different costume cultures are mixed with current costumes without the restriction to other culture. It is proper for the age of globalization and localization so it is expected that the multiculturalism will be enlarged more.

We introduces a development result of semi-automatic karyotyping system using image processing method to improve a long time working of the manual method and 5% error of traditional automatic karyotying system for analyzing karyotying. The karyotyping procedures have many routine tasks such as searching metaphases, taking pictures, developing, editing, etc. There are several automatic karyotyping systems in order to reduce the task in advanced countries. However, they are very expensive, applicable to only human chromosome, and have too many functions to use easily. This paper takes aim at high quality image resolution and development of interface that can adjust brightness and contrast of image on-line. The system can be applied to animal and plants as well as human's chromosome. The system developed in this paper is applied to pig and human. The effectiveness of the system is proved by hospitals in Korea.

The purpose of this research is to develop more effective and systematic courage-related education in the early childhood education field. Through the previous research and literature review, the concept of courage was redefined and the type of courage was derived. After choosing 25 pictures books which relate to courage, we analyzed using the type of courage and their features. The results were as follows. First, courage is an act of trying voluntarily and continuously according to established clear goals based on personal beliefs in order to overcome inner and external difficulties. Second, we divided the courage into five types - Physical Courage, Challenge Courage, Belief Courage, Social Courage, Creative Courage- and presented each characteristic. Finally, by analyzing 25 picture books on the theme of courage according to these types and characteristics, it was confirmed that these picture books can be an important basis for courage-related education and development of a courage scale.

By personally visiting a location, we have a much more complete and accurate feel and understanding of the interior design, then we can receive from pictures or descriptions. Because of this, in researching the history of interior design, it is impossible to experience the space in the design by not viewing it in persov. Instead, we must experience it indrectly through the use of descriptive language. Therefore it is important to deliver our meaning of the space in the interior design through clear and specific modern language rather than using classic language, which could be more confusing. In this study, the 7 most basic items of invariability among Bruno Zevi's modern language has been applied to describe the space in Wright's historical Prairie House. Thereupon, Wright's interior design concept and essential point is grasped through the analyzing of his space with modern language. Bruno Zevi's 7 items of invariability are suggested as an alternative which can deliver a clear and scientific meaning of interior desigv.

Rivers of our country are in the serious state of water pollution because of sewages, factory wastes, domestic animal excreta, and so forth. The development of waste water treatment technology applied in a small-scaled farm is urgent because the government regulation becomes strict. In the present study, four types of solid fuels are made by blending domestic animal excreta, rice hulls and briquets, and its combustion characteristics is investigated by analyzing burning pictures. Domestic animal excreta sampled from a farm in Kimhae was dried with sunlight. From experimental results, it is shown that combustion characteristics of solid fuels becomes better by blending rice hulls which have superior ignitability. Since solid fuel made by blending domestic animal excreta with rice hulls can bum continuously, it can be appropriate for the heating fuels.
