This paper investigates the jetting characteristics of an aerosol jet printing (AJP) process as a function of design and operating conditions. The governing equations of the AJP system are derived for experimentation and analysis. To understand the characteristics of the AJP system, this thesis analyzes the jetting characteristics as a function of the flow rate of the carrier gas and the sheath gas, and the variation of the linewidth with the nozzle exit size based on particle tracking. This thesis focuses on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), which is a computer simulation. The particle tracking results obtained by CFD were analyzed using MATLAB. CFD analytical models can be analyzed in environments with different conditions and consider more specific situations than mathematical computational models. The validity of the CFD analysis is shown by comparing the experimental results with the CFD analysis.
Recently, testing equipment which can run resonant column test altogether with the torsional shear test at the very highly controlled condition was developed at the University of Texas at Austin(U.S.A). With this equipment, the effects of high amplitude pre-straining vibrations on the dynamic properties of clean sands were studied. Tests showed the following results. Low amplitude shear modulus was gradually increased with little void ratio change as the number of high amplitude vibration cycles increased. Variation of volumetric strain with confining pressure for the pre -strained specimen under vibration was smaller than that of fresh specimen. Also the slope of the diagram for shear modulus and confining pressure relationship of the prestrained specimen was smaller than that of fresh specimens. These results agreed well with the analytical results.

The load analysis for the distribution system and facilities has relied on measurement equipment. Moreover, load monitoring incurs huge costs in terms of installation and maintenance. This paper presents a new model to analyze wherein facilities load under a feeder every 15 minutes using meter reading data that can be obtained from a power consumer every 15 minute or a month even without setting up any measuring equipment. After the data warehouse is constructed by interfacing the legacy system required for the load calculation, the relationship between the distribution system and the power consumer is established. Once the load pattern is forecasted by applying clustering and classification algorithm of temporal data mining techniques for the power customer who is not involved in Automatic Meter Reading(AMR), a single-line diagram per feeder is created, and power flow calculation is executed. The calculation result is analyzed using various temporal and spatial analysis methods such as Internet Geographic Information System(GIS), single-line diagram, and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP).

With the continuous development in insulation of electrical equipment design, the reliability of the system has been enhanced. However, in the manufacturing process and during operation under continues stresses introduce local defects, such as voids between interfaces that can responsible to occurrence of partial discharge (PD), electric field distortion and accumulation of charges. These defects may lead to localize corrosion and material degradation of insulation system, and a serious threat to the equipment. A model of three layers of PI film with air gap is presented to understand the influence of interface and voids on exploitation conditions such as strong electrical field, PD activity and charge movement. The analytical analysis, and experimental results are good agreement and show that the lose contact between interfaces accumulate more residual charges and in consequences increase the electric field intensity and accelerates internal discharges. These residual charges are trapped charges, injected by the electrodes has often same polarity, so the electric field in cavities increases significantly and thus partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) decreases. Contrary, number of PD discharge quantity increases due to interface. Interfacial polarization effect has opposite impact on electric field and PDIV as compare to void.
The design of seismically isolated structures considering the stochastic nature of excitations, base isolators' design parameters, and superstructure properties requires robust reliability analysis methods to calculate the failure probability of the entire system. Here, by applying artificial neural networks, we proposed a robust technique to accelerate the estimation of failure probability of equipped isolated structures. A three-story isolated building with susceptible facilities is considered as the analytical model to evaluate our technique. First, we employed a sensitivity analysis method to identify the critical sources of uncertainty. Next, we calculated the probability of failure for a particular set of random variables, performing Monte Carlo simulations based on the dynamic nonlinear time-history analysis. Finally, using a set of designed neural networks as a surrogate model for the structural analysis, we assessed once again the probability of the failure. Comparing the obtained results demonstrates that the surrogate model can attain precise estimations of the probability of failure. Moreover, our proposed approach significantly increases the computational efficiency corresponding to the dynamic time-history analysis of the structure.

Tracking is a process which explores user equipment (UE) in the area of tracking in terms of cells. In this paper, two tracking schemes based on macrocell-microcell tiers in hierarchical LTE networks, PMMT and IMMT, are evaluated. In this network, UE can receive a signal from macrocells and overlapping microcells, and can be called from each macrocell or microcell-tier in the PMMT. Also, the UE can be called from the combined macrocell-tier and microcell-tier in the IMMT. Finally, we analyze the optimization of load balance between marcocell-tier and microcell-tier, and an analytical model is developed to evaluate those two arrangements.
The objective of this paper is to examine the competitiveness of Korean export firms in EU market. In this study, market share index, RCA index, trade specialization index, and market competitiveness index were used as an analytical tool. On the market share index, Korea had a large market share in the SITC section 7(machinery and transport equipment) market in EU. On the RCA index, Korea appeared to have high export competitiveness in the electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances, n.e.s.(not elsewhere specified[stated]), and electrical parts thereof (77), travel goods, handbags and similar containers(83), textile yarn, fabrics, made-up articles, n.e.s., and related products(65), and iron and steel(67) division. On the trade specialization index, however, Korea appeared to tend to decline generally. On the market competitiveness index, Korea appeared to have competitive advantage in the iron and steel(67), machinery specialized for particular industries(72), office machines and automatic data-processing machines(75), electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances, n.e.s., and electrical parts thereof(77), road vehicles(78), and other transport equipment(79) division; but in 29 divisions, the index indicates that Korean firms' competitiveness was low. Finally, the authors discuss the implications of these findings and offer directions for future study.

The design of press bonding tool in LCD module equipment is a very complex and difficult task because many design able variables are involved while their effects are not known. It takes longtime experiments and much expenses to verify the effects of these design variables. However the optimization of bonding tool using OLB(outer lead bonding) and PCB Bonding is a very important problem in LCD manufacturing process, so much design efforts have been made for improving the bonding tool performance. In this paper, a reasonable and fast process which gives optimized solution under the design requirements has been presented. Both analytical and statistical methods are employed in this process. A reliable analytic model using experiment-oriented FE analysis can be obtained, in which the regression equations that predict the tool efficiency from various DOE method are found. Improvement of tool efficiency could be estimated by the regression equations using meaningful factors converged by RSM(Response Surface Method). With this process a reasonable optimized solution that meets a variety of design requirements can be easily obtained.

The development of a vehicle-mounted radar to detect the location of enemy artillery is mainly mounted during operation to the mobility of the equipment and efficiency of utilization range. It is equipped with an electronic device responsible for the operation of the radar system. Electronic equipments is performed functionality imparted without an error-specific in spite of disturbances such as vibration / shock caused by vehicle movement. Therefore, vibration / shock resistance is held to prevent damaging from vibration / shock generated from the outside environment during operation. In addition, a standardized and specified cabinet structure equipped with electronic equipment is placed in shelter to ensure additional safety for vibration / shock. In this study, it is evaluated by analytical method with vibration / shock resistance of the cabinet structures for ensuring structural safety factor is applied to the aluminum. It is verified the reliability of the structure and structural dynamics to verify by calculated natural frequencies adding the weight of the cabinet structure and the structural displacement and stress results confirmed with vibration / shock caused by the vehicle movement.
In this paper we proposed an easy method to calculate the thickness of primary protective barrier for radiographic equipment. The concrete was selected for the shielding material. The area of protective barrier was divided into a controlled area and a noncontrolled area. For the computation of thickness, the data in NCRP Report 49 and 51 was used. For radiographic equipments whose maximum tubevoltages are 100 and 150 kVp, the thicknesses of concrete were calculated as a function of distance. From the calculated data, four analytical models were acquired by fitting an exponential decay function. From the equations acquired by this study, the thickness of primary protective barrier can be calculated approximately.
