RF 가열용 S-대역 반도체 전력 발진기 (S-Band Solid State Power Oscillator for RF Heating)

  • 본 논문은 마그네트론 대체를 위한 반도체 전력 발진기 모듈 설계에 관련된 내용을 기술하였다. 300급 LDMOS 단일 전력 증폭기의 특성을 확인하였고 두 개를 결합하여 모듈을 구성하였다. 결합된 모듈에 delay-line feedback loop을 구성하고 위상 천이기를 이용하여 위상을 조절하여 발진기를 구동시켰다. 발진기 모듈 측정 결과 주파수 2.327 GHz에서 출력 800 W, 효율 58 %로 측정되었다. 이 결과는 시뮬레이션 결과와 유사한 특성을 보여준다.

  • In this paper, we propose a hybrid transceiver for underwater acoustic communication, which allows the system to reduce complexity and increase robustness in time variant underwater channel environments. It is designed in the digital domain except for amplifiers and implemented by using a multiple digital signal processors (DSPs) system. The digital modulation technique is quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) and frame synchronization is an energy (non-coherent) detection scheme based on the quadrature receiver structure. DSP implementation is based on block data parallel architecture (BDPA). We shaw experimental results in th? underwater anechoic basin at KRISO. The results indicate that the frame synchronization is performed without PLL. Also, we shaw that the adaptive equalizer can compensate frame synchronization error and the correction capability is dependent on the length of equalizer.

  • 본 논문에서는 시스템 온 칩 (SoC, System-on-Chip) 트랜시버에 적용이 가능하며. 저잡음 증폭기(LNA, Low Noise Amplifier)를 위한 자동 보상 회로 (ACC, automatic compensation circuit)를 제안한다. 개발된 회로는 고주파 내부 자체 검사 (BIST, Built-In Self-Test) 회로, 커패시터 미러 뱅크 (CMB, Capacitor Mirror Banks)와 디지털 처리장치로 구성되어 있다. 자동 보상 회로는 LNA가 정상 동작을 하지 않을 때 SoC 트랜시버의 구성요소인 디지털 프로세서를 이용하여 LNA가 정상 동작을 하도록 자동적으로 조정하는 역할을 한다.

MIMO 송신기에서 결합한 되먹임 신호에 기반한 디지털 전치왜곡 기법 (Digital Predistortion Technique for MIMO Transmitters)

  • 본고에서는 MIMO 송신기에서 비선형 전력증폭기를 선형화하기 위한 디지털 전치왜곡 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 시스템에서는 각 전력증폭기에 한 개씩 되먹임 회로가 필요한 반면 본고에서 제안하는 전치왜곡 시스템은 전력증폭기 출력 신호를 모두 결합하여 한 개의 되먹임 회로만 가지는 특징이 있다. 따라서 기존 시스템에 비해 훨씬 간단한 구조를 가진다. 이러한 구조를 바탕으로 결합된 피드백 신호로부터 각 전력증폭기를 선형화하는 전치왜곡 알고리즘을 제안한다. 모의실험 결과에 의하면 제안된 방식은 각 전력증폭기에 하나씩 되먹임 회로를 구성한 기존 방식과 거의 동일한 선형화 특성을 보임을 확인하였다.

  • Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were currently produced together with some contaminants such as a metallic catalyst, amorphous carbon, and graphitic nanoparticles, which should be sometimes purified for their applications. This study aimed to develop efficient, scalable purification processes but less harmful to SWCNTs. We designed three-step purification processes: acidic treatment, surface functionalization and soxhlet extraction, and heat treatment. During the soxhlet extraction using tetrahydrofuran, specifically, carbon impurities could be easily expelled through a glass thimble filter without any significant loss of CNTs. Finally, SWCNTs were left as a bulky paper on the filter through membrane filtration. Vertically aligned SWCNTs on one side of bulky paper were well developed in a speparation from the filter paper, which were formed by being sucked through the filter pores during the pressurized filtration. The bucky paper showed a very high peak current density of field emission up to $200\;mA/cm^2$ and uniform field emission images on phosphor, which seems very promising to be applied to vacuum microelectronics such as microwave power amplifiers and x-ray sources.

Class E Power Amplifiers using High-Q Inductors for Loosely Coupled Wireless Power Transfer System

  • A highly efficient class E power amplifier is demonstrated for application to wireless power transfer system. The amplifier is designed with an L-type matching at the output for harmonic rejection and output matching. The power loss and the effect of each component in the amplifier with the matching circuit are analyzed with the current ratio transmitted to the output load. Inductors with a quality factor of more than 120 are used in a dc feed and the matching circuit to improve transmission efficiency. The single-ended amplifier with 20 V supply voltage shows 7.7 W output power and 90.8% power added efficiency at 6.78 MHz. The wireless power transfer (WPT) system with the amplifier shows 5.4 W transmitted power and 82.3% overall efficiency. The analysis and measurements show that high-Q inductors are required for the amplifier design to realize highly efficient WPT system.

릴레이 제어법을 이용한 유리패널의 정전부상에 관한 연구 (Electrostatic Suspension System of Glass Panels using Relay Feedback Control)

  • In the manufacture of flat panel display devices, there is a strong demand for contactless glass panel handling devices that can manipulate a glass panel without contaminating or damaging it. To fulfill this requirement, an electrostatic suspension device far glass panels where the glass panel is supported by electrostatic forces without any mechanical contact is proposed. To implement the system with low cost and compactness, switched-voltage control scheme that is based on the relay feedback control is utilized. Relay feedback control method deploys only a single high-voltage power supply that can deliver a DC voltage of positive and/or negative polarity and thus high voltage amplifiers that are costly and bulky are not needed any more. It is shown that despite the inherent limit cycle property of the relay feedback based control, an excellent performance in vibration suppression is attained due to the presence of a relatively large squeeze film damping originating from the electrodes and levitated object. Using this scheme, a $100{\times}100mm^2$ glass panel was levitated stably with airgap variation decreasing down to $1\;{\mu}m$ at an airgap of $100\;{\mu}m$.

초정밀 직선 이송계용 능동 자기예압 공기베어링에 관한 연구 (Study on the Air Bearings with Actively Controllable Magnetic Preloads for an Ultra-precision Linear Stage)

  • In this paper, we propose a precise linear motion stage supported by magnetically preloaded air bearings. The eight aerostatic bearings with rectangular carbon porous pads were located only one side of vertical direction under the platen where four bearings are in both sides of horizontal direction as wrap-around-design, and this gives simpler configuration than which constrained by air bearings for all direction. Each of the magnetic actuators has a permanent magnet generating static magnetic flux far required preload and a coil to perturb the magnetic farce resulting adjustment of air- bearing clearance. The characteristics of porous aerostatic bearing are analyzed by numerical analysis, and analytic magnetic circuit model is driven for magnetic actuator to calculate preload and variation of force due to current. A 1-axis linear stage motorized with a coreless linear motor and a linear encoder was designed and built to verify this design concept. The load capacity, stiffness and preload force were examined and compared with analysis. With the active magnetic preloading actuators controlled with DSP board and PWM power amplifiers, the active on-line adjusting tests about the vertical, pitching and rolling motion were performed. It was shown that motion control far three DOF motions were linear and independent after calibration of the control gains.

  • 본 논문에서는 자체 바이어스가 되는 Folded Cascode CMOS OP Amp를 이용하여 싱글 픽셀 포톤 계수기 회로를 설계하였다. 전압 바이어스 회로가 필요 없으므로 싱글 픽셀의 레이아웃 면적을 줄이고 전류 소모를 줄일 수 있다. 매그나칩 반도체 $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정을 이용하여 설계된 CSA(Charge Sensitive Amplifier)의 신호 전압은 이론치인 151mV이 근접한 138mV로 simulation되었다. 그리고 싱글 픽셀의 레이아웃 크기는 $100{\mu}m{\times}100{\mu}m$이다.

TiO2와 SiO2 박막 쌍을 이용한 광모드 변환기가 집적된 반도체 레이저 단면의 무반사 코팅 (Anti-reflection coating on the facet of a spot size converter integrated laser diode using a pair of TiO2 and SiO2 thin films)

  • 전자선 증착기를 이용하여 1.3$\mu\textrm{m}$ 광모드 변환기가 집적된 반도체 레이저 출력 단면에 $SiO_2$$TiO_2$ 두 개의 박막 층으로 무반사 증착 하였다. 증착 단면의 최소 단면 반사율 $~ 10^{-5}$을 얻었고, $~ 10^{-4}$이하 단면 반사율 밴드 폭은 약 27nm임을 측정하였다. 이러한 코팅은 외부 공진기 레이저 광원 및 반도체 광 증폭기 등에 응용 가능하다.
