Analysis of Agrifood Purchasing Pattern Using Association Rule Mining - Case of the Seoul·Gyeonggido·Incheon in South Korea -

  • Since the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with Chile, the EU, and the U.S., Korean agricultural produce markets have turned into a fierce competition landscape. Under these competitive circumstances, marketing is critical. The objective of the research presented herein is to understand the characteristics of customer preferences after locating trends of purchased items. So This research establishes sustainable strategies for Korean agricultural produce. This investigation used market-basket analysis techniques and panel data for its research. Market-basket analysis is a technique which attempts to find groups of items that are commonly found together. The results show that, for one year, processed food using wheat, processed marine products, and pork are commonly bought together and that yogurt and milk also are bought together. The characteristics of customers buying these items are 44 years old and live in a four-person household with two children. These customers do not live with their parents.

  • The purpose of the study is to analyze the effects of customer satisfaction verses eco-friendly agricultural products (ingredients) awareness factors in luxury hotel Chinese restaurants on hotel image and customer loyalty (repurchase intention). To analyze what kind of effects of customer satisfaction verses eco-friendly agricultural products (ingredients) awareness factors in Chinese restaurants have on hotel image and behavior intention (loyalty), the study identified eco-friendly ingredients awareness factors. The study aims to suggest implications on service strategies and marketing strategies in luxury hotel Chinese restaurants based on the influence of customer satisfaction on hotel image and behavior intention (loyalty) using the identified factors.

Machine Learning Approach to the Effects of the Superstore Mandatory Closing Regulation

  • Purpose - This paper is aimed to analyze the effects of the mandatory closing regulation targeting large retailers, which has been implemented since 2012 to protect small retailers. We examine the changes in consumers' choice of retailers and their purchasing patterns of agri-food following the implementation of such regulation. Research design, data, and methodology - Household spending patterns were identified through the historical data of household food purchase, consumer panel provided by the Rural Development Administration. Clustering was employed to determine the household spending patterns. Moreover, the different household spending patterns before and after the regulation were comparatively studied. The patterns of consumers' choice of retail stores and shopping baskets by the type of retailers, derived from the respective datasets before and after the regulation, were compared to analyze the effects of the regulation. Results -After the regulation, some consumers who used to shop at large retailers before the regulation changed their shopping places to small retailers. However, the product categories that consumers had mainly purchased before the regulation were rarely changed even after the regulation. Conclusions - Although the regulation helped migrate some of the consumers to small retailers, the regulation seemed to have failed to stimulate consumers to purchase the goods, normally bought at large retailers, from traditional markets. In other words, traditional markets are not effective substitutes for regulation-affected retailers.

  • The world of smart agribusiness is still far from being fully and effectively applied by the Italian entrepreneurial fabric. In part, this is due to the fact that its potential and important connections with the technological world of reference are not fully known. The imperative is therefore: to learn how to manage all the processes that characterize the agricultural chain in a synergistic way, from production to the sale of the product to the final consumer. It is therefore essential to know every minimum aspect of the supply chain considering the current strengths on which to leverage but especially the weaknesses on which to intervene thanks to the use of technology available on the market. Today, the supply chain is still considered as a set of phases, one consecutive to the other, as if they were detached from each other. However, in order to operate efficiently, each step should be interconnected: from the farmer's decision to produce an agricultural good to the choice of production factors, from the implementation of harvesting and post-harvest operations to processing, from the selection of goods suitable for sale to the logic of distribution on the target territory. This work investigates the potential strategy using digital technologies in order to make dynamic the agribusiness supply chain, especially because in Italy the agri-food is one of the most important economic sectors but it is far from the most innovative trends available on the market.

AHP법을 이용한 농촌마을종합개발사업의 사업항목별 중요도 설정에 관한 연구 (A study on Classification System and Weighting Values for Comprehensive Development Projects of Rural Villages using AHP Method)

  • This study generalized and systemized the unit-project items of 176 project districts for the rural village comprehensive development projects (RVCDP). This paper surveyed opinions of III answerers (7 specialists, 43 agents of Korea Rural Community corporation, and 61 agents of local government of cities and counties) in order to determine the classification system and their corresponding weighting values of the project items using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method. From the results extracted by project plans of 176 project districts for 5 years from 2004 to 2008, this study decided a hierarchical system for unit-project items of RVCDP by AHP method, which consisted of three steps: 4 items for 1st step, 13 items for 2nd step, and 52 items for 3rd step. The first step contains 4 items of Strength of Rural-urban Exchange & Regional Capability (RURC), Green-income Infrastructure & Facility (GIF), Culture-health-welfare Facility, and Eco-environment & Landscape facility (ELF). In the survey of weighting values with AHP method, the analysis result for the first step showed that in opinion of specialists, GIF is more important than the others while in opinion of the other agents, RURC is more important. In the second step, Product Facility is more important in the specialists, whereas Strength of Resident Capability is the most important in the other agents. Analyzed unit project items as the third step, all answerers evaluated that the Education and Excursion for Rural Resident Capability has the highest weighting values.

런천미트 통조림의 품질비교 (Quality Comparison of Luncheon Meats)

  • 국내에서 런천미트라고 통칭되는 돈육통조림의 품질 비교를 위하여 시중에서 유통되는 4개국 8개회사의 제품 12가지를 분석하였다. 아질산염 함량은 제품간에 다양한 수준을 보여주었으나 모두 낮은 수준이었으며, 소디움은 한두개의 제품을 제외하고는 비슷한 수준이었다. 사용된 원료육의 품질비교를 위하여 콜라젠 함량과 총육색소 함량을 분석하고 전기영동으로 순수한 돈육과 비교하였다. 수입품에서는 런천미트와 chopped meat 사이에는 차이가 있었으며, 국내산에서는 대부분 비슷하였다. 수입품과 국내산 비교시에는 국내산은 콜라젠 함량이 수입품의 chopped meat와 비슷한 수준이었으나 총육색소 함량은 월등히 높았다. 전기영동상으로는 런천미트나 chopped meat 제품 혹은 기타제품 모두의 돈육함량을 정량적으로 비교하기가 매우 곤란한 것으로 보인다. 일반성분상으로는 국내산이나 수입품 모두 런천미트가 다른 제품보다 탄수화물 함량이 높고, 국내산 런천미트의 품질은 수입품 런천미트나 chopped meat 제품의 혼합상태로 판단된다. 따라서 국내에서도 런천미트라는 저가제품의 품질규격이 확립되어야 수입품과의 가격경쟁력을 가질 수 있을 것이다.

${\beta}-Tyrosinase$에 관한 연구 -제2보 ${\beta}-Tyrosinase$에 의한 Halogen화(化) Tyrosine의 합성(合成)- (Studies on the ${\beta}-Tyrosinase$ -Part 2. On the Synthesis of Halo-tyrosine by ${\beta}-Tyrosinase$-)

  • Esherichia intermedia A-21의 균체(菌體)에서 얻은 ${\beta}-tyrosinase$${\alpha},{\beta}$-탈리작용(脫離作用)의 역(逆)반응을 이용하여 L-tyrosine, 2-chloro-L-tyrosine, 2-bromo-L-tyrosine 및 2-iodo-L-tyrosine을 효소합성하고 그들의 원소분석(元素分析)과 NMR-spectrum, Mass-spectrum 및 IR-spectrum을 측정하여 그 구조해석(構造解析)을 하였다. 또한 ${\beta}-tyrosinase$에 의한 각(各) halogen화(化) tyrosine의 합성속도와 분해속도 그리고 halogen화(化) phenol의 ${\beta}-tyrosinase$에 대한 저해작용(阻害作用) 및 2-bromotyrosine의 합성에서 m-bromophenol의 경시적(經時的) 첨가효과 등을 검토하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) ${\beta}-tyrosinase$를 이용하여 pyruvin산(酸), $NH_3$ 그리고 m-chlorophenol, m-bromophenol 및 m-iodophenol 등을 기질로 한 각(各) halogen화(化) tyrosine의 효소합성에서 m-chlorophenol에서 2-chloro-tyrosine은 약 15%, m-bromophenol에서 2-bromotyrosine은 약 13.8% 그리고 m-iodophenol에서 2-iodotyrosine은 약 9.8%의 회수율(回收率)로 각각 얻어졌었다. 2) ${\beta}-tyrosinase$에 의한 tyrosine 및 halogen화(化) tyrosine의 합성에서 tyrosine의 합성속도를 100으로 하였을 때 2-chlorotyrosine은 28.2, 2-bromotyrosine은 8.13 그리고 2-iodotyrosine은 0.98의 상대속도를 보여 halogen화(化) tyrosine의 합성속도가 느렸다. 특히 Cl, Br, I의 순(順)으로 원자반경(原子半經)이 증가(增加)함에 따라서 halogen화(化) tyrosine의 합성속도가 저하(低下)되는 것이 인정(認定)되었다. 한편 3-iodotyrosine은 합성이 되지 않았다. 3) ${\beta}-tyrosinase$에 의한 tyrosine의 분해속도를 100으로 하였을 때 2-chlorotyrosine은 70.7, 2-bromotyrosine은 39.0, 2-iodotyrosine은 12.6의 상대적인 분해속도를 보였다. 즉 Cl, Br, I의 순(順)으로 원자반경(原子半經)이 크고 전기음성도(電氣陰性度)가 적어짐에 따라서 분해속도가 저하(低下)되는 것이 분명(分明)하였다 그리고 역시 3-iodotyrosine은 분해를 받지 않았다. 4) ${\beta}-tyrosinase$의 활성(活性)에 대하여 phenol은 현저한 조해작용(阻害作用)을 보였으며 o- 및 m-chlorophenol와 o-bromophenol의 조해(阻害)도 현저하였다. 반면 iodophenol의 조해(阻害)는 근소(僅少)하였으며 이들의 조해작용(阻害作用)을 Lineweaver-Burk plot법에 따라 측정한 결과 m-chlorophenol은 혼합형(混合型)의 조해작용(阻害作用)을 보였으며 그 Ki값은 $5.46{\times}10^{-4}M$이였다. 5) ${\beta}-tyrosinase$에 의한 2-bromotyrosine의 합성에서 기질인 m-bromophenol은 경시적(經時的)으로 소량(少量)씩 첨가하는 것이 효과적이었다. 6) ${\beta}-tyrosinase$를 이용하여 pyruvin산(酸), $NH_3$ 및 각(各) halogen화(化) phenol에서 합성한 2-halogen화(化) tyrosine들을 각각(各各) 원소분석(元素分析)하고 또한 NMR-spectrum, Mass-spectrum 그리고 IR-spectrum 등으로 측정하여 그들의 구조(構造)를 해석(解析)한 결과 각각(各各) 2-chloro-L-tyrosine, 2-bromo-L-tyrosine 및 2-iodo-L-tyrosine 임을 인정(認定)할 수 있었다.

  • The global trade partners have been diversified and mixed in agricultural market, which is expended the international agri-food market through the Regional Trade Agreement and World Trade Organization, etc. The aim of this study is to derive influential factors for exports increases of agricultural products targeting to Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). We set the equation for agricultural products exports referred to panel gravity model considering panel fixed effect for controlling endogeneity within variables. The results of this study are the follows; (1) Social economic distance considering international oil price negatively affects in the mushroom model; (2) Korean GDP affects (-) in a mushroom model and (+) in a vegetable model, however, ASEAN's per capita GDP indicates opposite influence in the same model; (3) Relative exchange rate shows negative impact in a vegetable model; (4) The entry status into WTO and the status in force of FTA have converse effects in mushroom and vegetable model, respectively.

  • Cellulomonas sp. CS1-1의 셀룰라아제 생산에 있어서 분해생성물에 의한 저해 기구를 연구하고 아울러 효소 작용시 생성물의 저해 작용 여부를 구명하기 위하여 각종 함량의 셀로비오스를 함유한 아비셀 중층 한천배지시험, 셀로비오스의 공급을 극소화함으로써 세포외 셀룰라아제의 증산을 목적으로 한 연속배양 시험, 그리고 효소기질에 각기 다른 농도의 셀로비오스가 존재할 때의 활성도에 대한 저해 시험을 시도한 결과 i) 효소반응 혼액중 셀로바오스의 농도가 10mM 이하에서는 셀룰라아제의 작용이 저해되지 않았으나 20mM에서 30%, 50mM에서 약 55% 저해됨이 인정되었다 ii) 아비셀 중층 배지 시험에서 셀룰라아제의 분해 작용은 글루코오스및 셀로비오스에 의해 크게 저해되었다 iii ) 연속 배양에 의하여 배지중의 셀로비오스의 잔존량을 극히 적게 한 경우(희석율 0.05 및 $0.1hr^{-1}$)에도 세포내외 효소가 증산되지 않았다.

The application of new breeding technology based on gene editing in pig industry - A review

  • Genome/gene-editing (GE) techniques, characterized by a low technological barrier, high efficiency, and broad application among organisms, are now being employed not only in medical science but also in agriculture/veterinary science. Different engineered CRISPR/Cas9s have been identified to expand the application of this technology. In pig production, GE is a precise new breeding technology (NBT), and promising outcomes in improving economic traits, such as growth, lean or healthy meat production, animal welfare, and disease resistance, have already been documented and reviewed. These promising achievements in porcine gene editing, including the Myostatin gene knockout (KO) in indigenous breeds to improve lean meat production, the uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) gene knock-in to enhance piglet thermogenesis and survival under cold stress, the generation of GGTA1 and CMP-N-glycolylneuraminic acid hydroxylase (CMAH) gene double KO (dKO) pigs to produce healthy red meat, and the KO or deletion of exon 7 of the CD163 gene to confer resistance to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus infection, are described in the present article. Other related approaches for such purposes are also discussed. The current trend of global regulations or legislation for GE organisms is that they are exempted from classification as genetically modified organisms (GMOs) if no exogenes are integrated into the genome, according to product-based and not process-based methods. Moreover, an updated case study in the EU showed that current GMO legislation is not fit for purpose in term of NBTs, which contribute to the objectives of the EU's Green Deal and biodiversity strategies and even meet the United Nations' sustainable development goals for a more resilient and sustainable agri-food system. The GE pigs generated via NBT will be exempted from classification as GMOs, and their global valorization and commercialization can be foreseen.
