  • The purpose of this research, based on the Media Selection Theory, the Technology Acceptance Model, and the Social Influence Theory, is to investigate the influential factors that affect media selection in banking transactions. Analyses showed that for location sensitive bank windows and ATMs(automatic teller machines), defined as offline-based transaction channels, convenience was the variable affecting media selection. However, in the case of online media not related to location, (phone banking, internet banking, and mobile banking) reliability was the significant variable influencing use. The findings show that banking organizations may benefit from identifying traits of media affecting use, and should differentiate customer services for competitive advantage.

  • Social Network Service(SNS) is a kind of advanced Internet service that acts as personal media. This study was intended to find out the structural relationships among factors affecting the usage of social network services by extending the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). For this purpose, the variable 'Flow' was first integrated into the TAM in order to understand the internal motivations of users. And then the external factors of SNS usage were derived from the perspective of users, contents, and media side of SNS, and finally the dependent variable was set with the intention of sustainable use. Then these factors were carefully integrated into a structural model. We expect the findings of this study will be very helpful for the internet marketing professionals, SNS developers, and the others.

  • Purpose South Korea and China have a long and deep relationship from ancient times to the present. There are many exchanges between economic and educational or other aspects. It will be interesting to compare the perceptions of preliminary entrepreneurs in South Korea and China. Design/methodology/approach This study attempts to analyze the intentions of Korean and Chinese entrepreneurs, and to find the differences between Korean and Chinese entrepreneurs. The research model of this study is composed of internal and external affecting variables, and one dependent variable as the intention of entrepreneurs. A structured questionnaire was distributed to college students and graduate students in South Korea and in China. Data have been analyzed using a Lisrel 8.80 software. Findings The results of this study indicate that all variables except for successful role model have a positive influence on entrepreneurial intentions. The nationality partially mediates the causal relationship between independent variables and dependent variable. Some discussion and implications are suggested.

  • In non-face-to-face teaching-learning, a survey was conducted on 55 students in the department of chemistry education at university A on the variables (behavioral control, instructor-learner interaction, cognitive learning) affecting learning satisfaction and academic achievement. There were relatively large positive correlations between variables. The positive correlation between them was found to be the factors that influenced learning satisfaction and academic achievement in non-face-to-face teaching-learning. The average values of non-face-to-face teaching-learning for each variable were lower than the corresponding values of face-to-face teaching-learning, respectively. As a result of the perception survey on the detailed factors of each variable, negative responses were relatively high in factors such as 'concentration of behavior' in behavioral control, 'level-considered explanation' in instructor-learner interaction, and 'knowledge understanding' in cognitive learning.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find the factors affecting the number of patients per physician for a day at hospital and compare them with the results of previous studies. We used data of Korean national patients survey that had been carried out by central government and local health centers from October 27th to November 11th in 1999. Descriptive analyses were performed to overview the general characteristics of our study subject. Also, we tried to find the factors affecting the number of patients per physician for a day at hospital through t test and correlation analysis. Factors affecting the number of outpatients per physician for a day at hospital are location, training type, ownership, No. of physicians, No. of beds per physician, No. of physicists per physician, No. of nursing aids per physician and No. of medical technicians per physician. While factors affecting the number of inpatients per physician for a day at hospital are location, ownership, No. of physicians, No. of beds per physician, No. of pharmacists per physician, No. of nurses per physician, No. of nursing aids per physician and No. of administrative auxiliary personnels per physician. The most correlated variable with outpatients per physician for a day at hospital is No. of medical technicians per physician while the most correlated variable with inpatients per physician for a day at hospital is No. of beds per physician. A more detailed investigation is needed for verifying factors affecting the number of patients per physician for a day at hospital and other medical institutions.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify not only the impact of servant leadership affecting creativity but the mediating effect of empowerment. Creativity refers to the production of novel and useful ideas by an individual or by a group of individuals working together [2]. A survey was conducted by 301 employees. This study used the structure equation model which treated the servant leadership as independent variable and creativity as criterion variables. Empowerment was supposed as mediating variable of these relationships. As a result of this study, servant leadership had positive influence on empowerment. Empowerment had positive influence on creativity. Also servant leadership had positive effect on creativity at first, but it did not have a direct effect on creativity when empowerment was considered. These mean that empowerment is complete mediation variable because servant leadership no longer affects creativity after empowerment has been considered. Several implications, limitations and directions for future research were discussed.

  • A new variable wing that can be swept back and forward synchronously were developed to enhance the aerodynamic and stability characteristics of a high speed airplane. The configuration of the new variable wing changes in such a way that inner part of the wing sweeps forward and outer part of the wing sweeps backward, the shift of aerodynamic center of the wing is small, therfore the static margin that is required for the stability of a airplane is not affected. In this study, various configurations of wing models by combined swept back and forward were designed and a wind tunnel tests were conducted to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of these variable wings. The experimental results showed that the variable wing by combined swept back and forward has no effect on the pitching moment coefficient affecting on an aircraft stability margin and enhance the aerodynamic characteristics for a given approach angle of attack.

  • The purpose of this research is to find the factors affecting the academic education satisfaction of social entrepreneurs, and to analyse the moderate variable such as the study motivation among the factors. These factors includes the curriculum, the education management, the education facilities, the characteristics of instructors and the study motivation. To do this end, this study set up the research questionnaire from the study of Houle (1961) and Hyun and Kim (2010), and did the moderate regression analysis to test the hypothesis that the academic motivation can do as the moderate variable while affecting the education satisfaction. The study finds that the factors such as the curriculum, the education management, the education facilities and the characteristics of instructors show the statistically significant test results. Also the study motivation as a moderate variable shows significant result. Thus for educating the social entrepreneurs, the study motivation of them should be deeply considered.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the financial status of Korean elderly households to make a financial plan for retirement preparation. The sample obtained from 1997 KHPS, consisted of 326 households of 55-64 aged and 210 households of 65 and over aged. Statistics employed for the analysis were frequencies, percentile, univariate analysis and logistic analysis. And Lorenz curve and Gini coefficient were used to compare the financial status. The results could be summarized as follows. First, total income, total expenditure, total debt and net worth of 55-64 aged group were higher than those of 65 and over group, while total asset of 55-64 aged group was similar to 65 and over group's Second, total expediture to total imcome ratio(R1) and total asset to total debt ratio(R4) of 55-64 aged group were higher than 65 and over group's, but net worth to minimum cost of living ratio(R2) and financial asset to monthly expenditure ratio(R3) of 65 and over group were higher than 55-64 aged group's . Third, R4's Gini coefficient was the highest and R1's Gini coefficient was the lowest among all Gini coefficients. Also, R1's and R4's Gini coefficients of 55-64 aged group were greater than 65 and over group's. ourth, variables affecting R1's stability of 55-64 aged group were household head's age, educatonal attainment and family type, while those of 65 and over group were household head's age, past economic experience and the number of children. There was no significant variable affecting R2's stability of 55-64 aged group, but there was only household head's pst economic experience affecting those of 65 and over group. The variable contributing to R3's stability of 55-64 aged group was residence while the variables of 65 and over group were household head's educational attainment, past economic experience and the number of children. The variables contributing to R4's stability of 55-64 aged group were the number of children and residence, and the number of children was one variable of contributing to R4's stability of 65 and over aged group.
