어머니의 우울과 청소년의 자아존중감이 청소년의 사회불안에 미치는 영향 (The effects of maternal depression and adolescent's self-esteem on the adolescent's social anxiety)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of maternal depression, adolescent's self-esteem and adolescent's sex, grade, birth order on the adolescent's social anxiety. for this purpose, data from 334 middle school students and their mothers were collected. frequency, percentage, Cronbach's a, MANOVA and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis. The main results were as follows. First, there were not significant differences of adolescent's social anxiety according to adolescent's sex, grade and birth order. Second, there were not significant effects of adolescent's sex, grade, birth order and maternal depression on three subordinate factors of adolescent's social anxiety, but adolescent's self-esteem had significant effects on fear of negative evaluation, social avoidance and distress(new), and social avoidance and distress(general) as subordinate factors of adolescent's social anxiety.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate relationships between adolescent's behavioral inhibition and social anxiety focused on the moderating effects of perceived parental rearing behaviors. Subjects were 749 7th through 9th grade students attending schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Major findings were that (1) boys' and girls' behavioral inhibition was an important factor predicting social anxiety; and (2) perceived parental rearing behaviors played the role of moderating variables on the influence of behavioral inhibition of boys' and girls' social anxiety. In the boys' group, perceived intrusion had a moderating effect on the relationships between behavioral inhibition and social anxiety; in the girls' group, perceived warmth and perceived granting of autonomy acted as moderating variables on social anxiety.

자폐스펙트럼장애를 가진 형제자매를 둔 비장애 청소년의 동반 낙인감이 대인불안에 미치는 영향과 내면화된 수치심의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effect of Internalized Shame on the Relationship between Affiliate Stigma and Interpersonal Anxiety among Adolescent Siblings of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder)

  • The study examined the mediating effect of internalized shame on the relationship between affiliate stigma and interpersonal anxiety among adolescents with siblings who had autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the moderated mediating effect of mother-adolescent communication openness. The participants consisted of 139 adolescents (boys 48.9%, high-school students 79.8%) who had siblings with ASD. Interpersonal anxiety, affiliate stigma, internalized shame, and mother-adolescent communication openness were measured using the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (La Greca & Lopez, 1998), the Affiliate Stigma Scale (Mak & Cheung, 2008), the Internalized Shame Scale (Cook, 1988), and the Parent-Adolescent Communication Scale (Barnes & Olson, 1982), respectively. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation coefficients. Process Macro Models 4 and 7 were used to examine the mediating effect and the moderated mediating effect. The results indicated that internalized shame mediated the effect of affiliate stigma on interpersonal anxiety among adolescents who had siblings with ASD. However, there was no significant moderated mediating effect of mother-adolescent communication openness on the relationship between affiliate stigma, internalized shame and interpersonal anxiety. These findings suggest that it is necessary to improve social awareness of individuals with ASD and their family members to prevent adolescents who have siblings with ASD from having affiliate stigma and to help them reduce interpersonal anxiety. The results also highlight the importance of counseling programs for adolescents with siblings with ASD as a way of preventing or alleviating their interpersonal anxiety by reducing internalized shame, even where they experience affiliate stigma.

아동과 청소년의 정서적유능성과 사회불안과의 관계 (Relationships between Emotional Competence and Social Anxiety among Korean Children and Adolescents)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between emotional competence and social anxiety among Korean children and adolescents. The subjects of this study were 385 children between fifth and sixth grade ages and 579 middle school students. Their emotional competence was assessed by 'Korean Emotional Competence scale (Kim et al., 2004),' and also their social adjustment was assessed by 'Social Anxiety Scale (Moon & Oh, 2002).' The data were analyzed by ANOVA, the Pearson's correlation, and regression, using SPSS. The results of this study are as follows: (1) Children's and adolescents' emotional competence and social anxiety were relatively high. (2) Their emotional competence had a meaningful difference according to SES, gender, and birth order. (3) Their social anxiety had a meaningful difference according to SES, gender, and birth order. (4) There was a significant relationship between their emotional competence and social anxiety. (5) A regression analysis result of children's and adolescents' social anxiety showed that approximately 11.3% variance could be explained by four emotional competence variables: 'self-expressiveness and assertion,' 'awareness and understanding of emotion,' 'positive acceptance,' and 'collective consciousness.'

비합리적 신념과 사회적 지지가 청소년의 사회불안에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Irrational Belief and Social Support on Adolescents' Social Anxiety)

  • The purpose of the study is to examine the influences of irrational belief and social support on adolescents' social anxiety. Questionnaires regarding irrational belief, social support, and social anxiety were administered to 566 2nd and 3rd grade middle-school students in Gyeonggi Province. Finally 523 questionnaires were collected and statistically analyzed through t-test, Pearson's correlation analysis, hierarchical and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of the study were as follows: 1) While there were gender differences in social anxiety, irrational belief, and social support sources, no differences in social support types were observed. 2) While social anxiety and irrational belief showed a positive correlation, social anxiety and social support revealed a negative correlation. Additionally, irrational belief and social support showed a negative correlation. 3) Irrational belief(catastrophizing, extreme anxiety and fear, personal perfection, and helplessness), emotional social support, and social support from friends were significant predictors of social anxiety. 4) Irrational belief which predicted each social anxiety subtype was varied.

소아기 불안장애의 인지행동치료 효과 : 예비 연구 (Effect of Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment in Children with Anxiety Disorder: A Preliminary Study)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate preliminarily the clinical effects of cognitive-behavioral treatment in children with anxiety disorders. Methods: Subjects were 11 children between 2nd and 6th grade with anxiety disorder. All subjects were diagnosed through Kiddie-Schedule for Affective Disorder and Schizophrenia Present and Lifetime Version (K-SADS-PL) interview. The CBT program consisted of sessions once a week (60min/session) for 14 weeks with parent education. Results: Children and parents reported significantly improved social skills, social competence and decreased anxiety. However, there were no significant changes in children's negative thoughts and subjective depressive symptoms. Conclusion: Cognitive-behavioral treatment is expected to be effective in children with anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder, phobia, separation anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

사회불안 아동의 해석, 기대 및 판단에서의 인지 편향 (COGNITIVE BIASES IN INTERPRETATION, EXPECTATION AND JUDGEMENT OF SOCIALLY ANXIOUS CHILDREN)

  • 목적:사회불안 아동의 해석 편향과 수행에 대한 기대 및 판단 편향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법:자기 보고와 또래 거명을 근거로 해서 선발된 사회불안이 높은 아동 18명과 사회불안이 낮은 아동 16명을 대상으로 인지 편향을 측정하기 위한 세 가지 과제를 실시하였다. 첫 번째 과제는 모호한 사회적 상황을 중립적 또는 위협적으로 해석하는지 알아보는 것이다. 두 번째 과제는 즉석 3분 발표를 수행하는 것에 대한 기대를, 세 번째 과제 는 발표 후에 실시한 자기 평정과 평정자 평정간의 비교를 통해 판단 편향을 측정하는 것이었다. 결과:사회불안이 높은 아동들은 해석, 기대 및 판단 측정치에서 사회불안이 낮은 아동들과 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 평정자 평정 결과, 사회불안이 높은 아동들은 사회불안이 낮은 아동들에 비해 3분 발표를 수행하는 능력이 유의하게 더 낮은 것으로 평정되었다. 결론:인지 편향이 아동기 사회불안의 발생과 지속에 미치는 영향에 대하여 논의하였다.

청소년기 여학생의 사회적 체격불안 관련 요인 (Factors Relating to Social Physique Anxiety in Adolescent Girls)

  • Purpose: This descriptive study was to explore the factors relating to Social Physique Anxiety(SPA) in the adolescent girls(N=700). These factors included the biological(level of school[age], period of menstruation, and BMI), the sociocultural(Influence of Mass Media, [IMM], Stereotype of Ideal Female Body[SIFB], type of school, perceived figure, and ideal figure) and the BW control-related factors(experience of bodyweight [BW] control, satisfaction at the result of BW control, and motive of BW control). Method: The sample was 700 girls of the middle and high schools in Jeju-do. The data was collected by the self-reported questionnaire and processed with the SPSS Win 12.0 program. Result: 26% of the variance in SPA was explained by the biological factors(level of school) and the sociocultural factors (perceived figure, ideal figure, type of school, and IMM). SPA, IMM, and SIFB were significantly correlated with each others(r=1,65-2.92, p<.05). The mean SPA scores according to BW control-related factors were significantly different. Conclusion: This results suggest that media education is necessary to reduce or eliminate the adolescent girl's SPA. In addition, SPA needs to be considered as the important concept for the future nursing researches and interventions related to BW control.

청소년의 적응에 대한 Beavers의 Ssytems 모델의 유용성 (The Usefulness of Beavers Systems Model on Adolescent Adjustment)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the usefulness of Beavers Systems Model on adolescent adjustment. For this study adolescents' perceptions of family health/competence family style and adolescent adjustment were utilized. The 443 subjects were selected randomly from the second grade of middle schools and high schools in the city of Taegu. The instruments of measurement were SFI II State-Trait Anxiety Inventory Depression Scale Self-Esteem Scale and Delinquency Scale. Factor Analysis Cronbach's a, MANOVA and Scheffe test were conducted for the data analysis. The conclusion of this research findings was as follows: There is significant differences I nadolescents' anxiety depression global self-esteem social-peer self esteem property predatory behaviors and school-norm avoidant behaviors by the family functioning types of BSM. Therefore the group classification by BSM was generally useful in evaluating adolescent adjustment.

초등학교 특수학급아동의 임상적 진단 및 감정 행동특성 연구 (Clinical Diagnosis and Emotional Behavioral Characteristics Study of Children in a Special Education Class in Korean Elementary School)

  • Objectives : The special class has been made, bringing rapid increase quantitatively. The authors carried out the child psychiatric interview and evaluation for 9 special-classed children in Asan city to find out clinical diagnosis and emotional/behavioral characteristics. Methods : The child psychiatrists evaluated special class children by DSM-IV and K-SADS-PL. Tools for the evaluation were Child Behavior Checklist- Korean version, Korean Personality Inventory for Children, Children's Depression Inventory, Abbreviated Conners Parent-Teacher Rating Scale-Revised, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children, Vineland Social Maturity Scale, Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-III, and Childhood Autism Rating Scale. Results : Ultimately 53 children, consisting of 35 boys(67.9%) and 18 girls(32.1%), participated, and the average age was $10.5{\pm}1.3$ years old. Their measure of Vineland Social Maturity Scale was $78.7{\pm}20.0$, Childhood Autism Rating Scales was $25.4{\pm}9.0$, Child Depression Inventory was $22.2{\pm}5.2$, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children was $35.2{\pm}8.2/36.5{\pm}6.2$, and Abbreviated Conners Parent-Teacher Rating Scale was $11.0{\pm}4.6$. In the clinical diagnosis evaluation, the prevalence rate of learning disorder was decreased compared to early research, ADHD had been newly appeared and depression disorder and anxiety disorder had been increased. Conclusion : This result suggests that a lot of children in a special class have complex emotional and behavioral problems in addition to educational problems.
