Bonding of resin to cast alloy has traditionally been provided by mechanical retention. But, chemical bonding methods such as silicoating, tin plating, heat treatment, application of 4-META adhesives, have been developed to overcome the problems of the mechanical bonding methods. Silicoating has been used availaby in fixed prosthodontics, but is also reported to be used in removable prosthodontics. The aim of this study is to measure the tensile bond strength between resin and metal, and compare the effect of the type of metal and the grain size of the aluminum oxide on the bond strength, after metal surface roughening, coating of the opaque resin, and curing of heat-curing resin were performed. The test groups were divided into 4 groups according to the cast alloys and the aluminum oxide particles used. Group 1 : Type 4 gold alloy(DM66) blasted with $$50{\mu}m\;Al_{2}O_3$$ Group 2 : Type 4 gold alloy(DM66) blasted with $$250{\mu}m\;Al_{2}O_3$$, Group 3 : Co-Cr alloy(Nobilium) blasted with $$50{\mu}m\;Al_{2}O_3$$ Group 4 : Co-Cr alloy(Nobilium) blasted with $$250{\mu}m\;Al_{2}O_3$$ * 10 test specimens were made on each group. The specimens were thermocycled, and Instron Universal testing machine was used to measure the tensile bond strength of the finished specimens. The results were as follows : 1. Bond strengths showed that the group of gold alloy blasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particle had higher bond strength, and the group of gold alloy blasted with $50{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles had lower bond strength than any of the other groups. 2. Gold alloy had significantly higher bond strength when blasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles than $50{\mu}m$, but. Co-Cr alloy showed no statistically significant difference between the two particle sizes. 3. When blasted with $50{mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles, Co-Cr alloy showed significantly higher bond strength than gold alloy. And, when blasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles, gold alloy had significantly higher bond strength than Co-Cr alloy. 4. On the examination of the fractured sites, only the group of Co-Cr alloy blasted with $50{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles showed a part of residual opaque resin, but all the samples of the other groups fractured between the resin and the metal.
In this study, for enhancing the durability of permeable pavement material polyurethane(PU) adhesives were developed, and the physical properties upon polymerization and additives were studied. PU polymerization followed the bulk polymerization of free solvent type considering ecological aspect. Additives used in this study were carbon black, calcium carbonate and ultra violet stabilizer. The property changes upon different environment were evaluated with the compressive strength which is the principal measurement of the property of pavement materials. Among polymerized PU, one formulated with esterpolyol and crosslinkable chain extender gave the highest compressive strength of $74.9kgf/cm^2$, better than commercial $60kgf/cm^2$. The strength was the highest when the material specimen contained carbon black and calcium carbonate 20 wt%, respectively. However, UV stabilizer did not show good weathering properties.

There are being two prominent studying for Digital Radiography. Direct and Indirect method of Digital Radiography are announced for producing high quality digital image. The one is using amorphous selenium as photoconductor and the other is using phosphor layer as a light conversion. But each two systems have strength and weakness such as high voltage and blurring effect. In this study, we investigated the electrical characteristic of $multi-layer\left(CaWO_{4}+a-Se \right)$ as a photoconductor according to the changing arsenic composition ratio. This is a basic research for developing of Hybrid digital radiography which is a new type X-ray detector. The arsenic composition ratio of a-Se compound is classified into 7 different kinds which have 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 5%, 10% and were made test sample throught thermo-evaporation. The phosphor layer of $CaWO_4$ was overlapped on a-Se using EFIRON optical adhesives. We measured the dark and photo current about the test sample and compared the electrical characteristic of the net charge and signal-to-noise ratio. Among other things, test sample of compound material of 0.3% arsenic showed good characteristic of $2.45nA/cm^2$ dark current and $357.19pC/cm^2/mR$ net charge at $3V/{\mu}m$.
미세전단결합강도측정는 Universal testing machine(EZ-test; Shimadzu, Japan)에서 측정하였다.
Mucoadhesive property is the major function as an adhesive for medical devices, and therefore, these days many researches have conducted to develop polymers having this property. Recently, biomimetic technology has been used for developing mucoadhesive polymers. Among many technologies, mussel-inspired approaches have received noticeable attention because of its thread's strong adhesive characteristics. In this study, we synthesized mucoadhesive biomimetic polymers employing catechol structures which are abundant in mussel adhesive proteins, and their structures and molecular weights were characterized by using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. To evaluate in vitro mucoadhesive strength, the sheet type of the small intestinal porcine submucosa was prepared. Compared to commercial fibrin glue adhesives, catechol-containing mucoadhesive polymers showed enhanced adhesive strength. The study of adhesive strength with considering diverse factors, such as temperature, pressure, and oxidant amount indicated that mussel-inspired mucoadhesive polymer could be a promising candidate for an adhesive in various biomedical applications.
This study investigated that the effect of rewetting agent on dentinal microtensile bond strength(${\mu}TBS$). Human molars were sectioned to expose the superficial dentin surfaces. Samples were divided into two groups according to type of adhesives-Single Bond (S) and One-Step (0)], and again subdivided into five groups by different dentin surface treatment-dry for 15s (D), blot dry (BD) or dry for 15s, and rewet with different rewetting agents [distilled water (DW), Gluma Desensitizer (GD) and Aqua-Prep (AP)] for 30s. After application of adhesive, composite resin was built up on the bonding surface. Each tooth was sectioned to obtain stick with $1\textrm{mm}^2$ cross sectional area and the ${\mu}TBS$ was determined by EZ test. In the S group, the mean ${\mu}TBS$ of GD, AP, and BD group was significantly higher than that of DW and D group (p < 0.05), In the O group, the mean, ${\mu}TBS$ of AP, GD, BD and DW group was significantly higher than that of D group (p < 0.05). The data suggested that Gluma Desensitizer and Aqua-Prep could be successfully used as rewetting agents, and Distilled water could be acceptable in aceton based adhesive system only.

To increase peel strength, low temperature properties and flowability of pressure sensitive adhesives(PSA) used in a heat shrinkable sheet, these properties were evaluated by changing each components in type and content. In this study, Isobutylene-co-Isoprene Rubber (IIR) which has good wetherability was selected as a base polymer. Instead of rosin ester, petroleum resin was selected as a tackifier because of superior peel strength. By decreasing petroleum resin contents, flowability of PSA was decreased. High molecular weight of polybutene was better than low molecular weight for the peel strength of PSA. Large particle size of carbon black showed better properties than small one in peel strength and brittleness temperature. By adding calcium carbonate, the cost of compound was able to be reduced. But it must be used with carbon black.
This study aims to classify wearable devices for infants and children according to their function, and to analyze the types and attachment methods of the devices by function, operating system, characteristics of materials, and types of batteries, and to identify the points for improvement. Forty-eight types of devices investigated through previous studies and keyword research online were analyzed. Wearable devices for infants and children were classified according to their functions into wearable monitors, wearable thermometers, GPS trackers, and smart watches. Devices had different shapes and attachment methods according to their functions, and were mainly clothes or accessory types. The accessory type devices were attached to the body using velcro, clips, bands, or adhesives. Wearable monitors and thermometers mainly used Bluetooth to transmit data wirelessly, and location trackers used various combinations of 4G(LTE), 5G networks, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Smartwatches had different functions depending on whether smart phones were linked to them or not. Wearable monitors and thermometers mainly used by infants provided material information, but other devices did not. These devices used rechargeable, replaceable, non-rechargeable or non-replaceable batteries. Wearable devices need to be improved to reduce the discomfort experienced by infants and children due to the attachment position, malfunction, skin trouble caused by materials, short time of use of batteries, version conflict and complexity with the device when linking with a smart phone, and non-operation when using Bluetooth.
The purpose of this study is to find out characteristics of the fillers made by epoxy resin (L-30) and filling epoxy resin (L-50) with talc, quartz sand and wollastonite with different mixture ratio of 5%, 50%, 80%, 120%, and 150%. The viscometer and colorimeter were used to measure the viscosity and chromaticity of the fillers. Additionally, IC and SEM were used to reveal characteristics of the filler, and checked ultrasonic wave velocity, compressive strength and contact angle to estimate the stability between the filler and stones which are essential for conservation treatments. The filler mixed with the talc had the lowest value in the ultrasonic wave velocity analysis, and its compressive strength decreased as the mixing rate of talc increased. On the other hand, wollastonite had higher values than others in the ultrasonic wave velocity and the compressive strength regardless of epoxy resin type, also, these values increased as mixing rate increased. The properties of the filler, which include the granularity and shape, have influence on characteristics of the stone conservation adhesives. Thus, the filler type, characteristic, and mixture ratio must be considered for effective conservation treatment.
