  • An adaptive filter for noise cancellation of ECG Is proposed. An adaptive noise canceller using the least mean squares algorithm Is used to reduce unwanted noise. An adaptive filter for nolse cancella lion minimizes the mean-square error between a primary input and a reference input. A primary input is the noisy ECG, and a reference input is a noise that Is correlated in some way with the noise in the primary input or a signal that is correlated only with ECG in the primary input.

  • This paper is a study on the design of adptive filter for QRS complex detection. We propose a simple adaptive algorithm to increase capability of noise cancelation in QRS complex detection with two stage adaptive filter. At the first stage, background noise is removed and at the next stage, only spectrum of QRS complex components is passed. Two adaptive filters can afford to keep track of the changes of both noise and QRS complex. Each adaptive filter consists of prediction error filter and FIR filter The impulse response of FIR filter uses coefficients of prediction error filter. The detection rates for 105 and 108 of MIT/BIH data base were 99.3% and 97.4% respectively.

  • The adaptive filter is proposed for the INS/GPS. The proposed filter can estimate the variance of the process noise using the residual of the filter. To verify the efficiency of the adaptive filter, it is applied to the loosely-coupled INS/CPS that employs the additive quaternion error model. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed filter is more effective in estimating the attitude error than EKF.

  • This Paper presents a study of the performance of a DC servo motor with a model reference adaptive fuzzy speed controller (MRAFSC) in the presences of load disturbances. MRAFSC comprised inner feedback loop consisting of the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and plant, and outer loop consisting of an adaptation mechanism which is designed for tuning a control rule of the FLC. Experimental results show the good performance in the DC servo motor system with the proposed adaptive fuzzy controller.

  • In this paper, we present a global adaptive output feedback control scheme for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems to which adaptive observer backstepping method may not be applicable directly. The allowed output feedback structure includes quadratic and multiplicative dependency of unmeasured states. Our novel design technique employs a change of coordinates and adaptive backstepping. With these proposed tools, we can remove linear and quadratic dependence on the unmeasured states in the state equation. Also, the multiplication of the two unmeasured states can be eliminated ...

  • This paper deals with the design problem of model reference adaptive controllers for MIMO plants with unknown orders. A design scheme for an adaptive control system based on CGT theorem, which has hierarchical structures derived from backstepping strategies, is proposed for MIMO plants with unknown orders but with known relative MacMillan degrees(relative degrees for SISO plants). It is also shown that all the signals in the resulting control system are bounded, and that the asymptotic tracking is achieved in the case where reference inputs are step.

  • In this paper, the problem of designing an adaptive observer for a class of nonlinear systems with linear unknown parameters is studied. The nonlinear system to be considered consists of two blocks, only one of which has measurable states. Assuming the minimum-phase property of the error dynamics obtained after a change of coordinates and imposing some conditions on the functions multiplied by unknown parameters, an adaptive observer is constructed using an existing observer design method.

  • In this paper, we propose direct and indirect adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control approaches for a class of nonaffine nonlinear systems. In the direct case, we use the implicit function theory to prove the existence of an ideal implicit feedback linearization controller, and hence approximate it to attain the desired performances. In the indirect case, we exploit the linear structure of a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy system with constant conclusion to establish an affine-in-control model, and therefore design an indirect adaptive fuzzy controller. In both cases, the adaptation laws of the adjustable parameters are deduced from the stability analysis, in the sense of Lyapunov, to get a more accurate approximation level. In addition to their robustness, the design of the proposed approaches does not require the upper bounds of both external disturbances and approximation errors. To show the efficiency of the proposed controllers, a simulation example is presented.

  • In this paper, a model of adaptive individual life support system is proposed from the viewpoint of cybernetics. This model is derived based on the relation between human behavior and human action, static and dynamic in processing speed, and abstract/concrete. In applications, task and information of human which includes in this system analyzed by paying attention to cybernetics. This paper shows a few actual example of modeling by fundamental adaptive individual life support model such as medical diagnosis, health care and education support. Finally as an example, design and implementation are concretely carried out for health care support system. This is also a method to design a information support system which is involved in human.

  • In this paper, a mathematical model of the power LED system including the drive circuit will be presented to control the power LEDs current. Using this mathematical model, the constant current adaptive controller will be designed. A constant current drive circuit for power LEDs will be configured using Buck-type converter. Precise constant current controller design is enabled by presenting the mathematical model of power LEDs including the current driving circuits. Using the mathematical model of power LEDs and its drive circuits, the constant current adaptive controller will be designed to obtain the robustness for the parameter uncertainties. In order to verify the validity of the proposed controller, computer simulations are performed.
