  • In this paper, the dynamics of actuators for generating the input of plants is considered in a design of the variable structure systems. While the input for plants is usually implemented by means of a certain actuator, the actuator dynamics is not incorporated in most of the VSS researches until now. The control algorithm of a VSS incorporating actuator dynamics is presented, and the simulation is given to show the usefulness of the algorithms.

  • In this paper, a high precision track following control algorithm is proposed for micro electrostatic actuator considering of the application for hard disk drive. The micro electrostatic actuator proposed has nonlinear voltage-displacement characteristic in a working range of 0.8.mu.m and has uni-directional movement. Mid range reference and open-loop bias are proposed for the revision of negative position error, and inverse model for linearization.

  • 본 논문에서는 Sub-nano 수준의 위치정밀도와 분해능을 갖는 Piezo actuator 의 제어기 설계를 목적으로 하였다. 이산 시간 상태 공간에서의 Piezo actuator를 이용한 1 축 스테이지 드라이브 시스템 SISO 제어기를 설계하였다. Piezo actuator 의 소재 자체의 특성으로는 Hysteresis 가 있으며, 이는 정상상태에서 Piezo actuator 의 위치 오차를 발생하는 주요 원인이 된다. 제어기의 설계는 극점 배치 방법을 기본으로 하여 Hysteresis 에 대한 보상을 목적으로 적분제어방식과 외란 추정기를 각각 적용하였다. 모의실험을 통하여 제어기의 설계 및 시뮬레이션 하였으며, Hysteresis 에 대한 보상이 이루어짐을 보았고, 실험을 통하여 이를 증명하였다.

  • 최근 녹색성장과 함께 전기자동차에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 전기자동차 Relay 용 Solenoid Actuator에 대한 관심 또한 높아지고 있다. DC Solenoid Actuator는 Electric Vehicle relay(EV-Relay)의 동작을 담당하므로, EV-Relay의 핵심 부분이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 등가자기회로법을 통해 EV-Relay가 동작하기 위한 DC Solenoid Actuator를 설계하였다.

  • This paper discusses the solution to the precise positioning control problem applied to a simple model of a dual stage or redundant positioner. The dual stage actuator presented here uses a VCM(Voice Coil Motor) as a coarse actuator and a piezoelectric actuator as a fine actuator. By adopting controllers with two-degree-of-freedom and by optimizing H$_{2}$ faster precise tracking can be realized. Experimental and numerical results are presented to demonstrate the control effects.

  • In this paper, the multilayer actuator is investigated by using the finite element method. The material is taken to be piezoelectric. The capacitor and interdigital wlfloating type actuator are compared to the stress field distribution under the uniform electric field. As the length of the floating electrode in the interdigital wlfloating actuator changes, the stress field around the edge of electrode is studied.

  • This paper describes an application of an air-pulse actuator for vibration control of a framed structure. Dynamic characteristics of the prototype actuator that utilizes an air-jet reaction force pulsated by an electromagnetic valve were investigated to use it as a control actuator. Using a control law based on the sliding mode control theory, experiments of the vibration control were carried out. The experimental results verified the validity of the actuator performance.

  • In this paper, we present a polysilicon actuator on silicon wafer using surface micromachining technology which employs an electrostatic stepwise driven Scratch Drive Actuator to generate a force that can move an external object. For optical applications, we propose wavelength selector using distributed feedback structures and this micro actuator.

  • Precision stages are essential device for micro machines, fiber optic assembly systems, and biology instruments. In this paper, a precision inchworm type actuator for a linear stage is proposed and evaluated. An analytic method to design an inchworm type motor is proposed. Developed actuator provides fast motion compared with a commercial inchworm actuator, and can be used as an actuator for a stage in substitution for a conventional rotary actuator.

  • The bending actuator using zigzag type shape memory alloy springs has been fabricated and characterized. The small sized actuator with outer diameter of 3.0mm and inner diameter of 2.0mm could be implemented because zigzag type spring has advantages for thin wall type actuator over the coil type spring. The measured characteristics of the fabricated bending actuator show the possibility of practical application to micro active bending catheter.
