Objective : This study is to investigate the effect of Bojoongikki-tang on Acne patients Methods : We treated 3 acne patients diagnosed as the deficiency of Qi with Bojoongikki-tang(Buzhongyiqitang), comedon extraction by needle and stamp acupunctures. After treatments we compared the before and after photos, and estimated by Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS1-4). Results & Conclusions : After taking Bojoongikki-tang(Buzhongyiqi-tang) and extruding comedones by needle, the acne was improved. After stamp acupuncture, the acne scar was improved. This study shows that the acne can possibly be diagnosed as the deficiency of Qi. So further studies are needed continuously.

Objective : This study is to investigate the effect of Yukmijihwangtang Gamibang on Male Acne patients. Methods : We treated 3 male acne patients diagnosed as the deficiency of Yin with Yukmijihwangtang Gamibang and comedon extraction. After treatments We compared the before and after photos, and estimated by Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS). Results & Conclusions : After taking Yukmijihwangtang Gamibang, extruding comedones by needle and appling acupuncture, the acne was improved. This study shows that the acne can possibly be diagnosed as the deficiency of Yin. So further studies are needed continuously.

Objective : This study performed to evaluate that duration of acne scars effects on Qualitative Global Acne Scarring Grading System(QGASC) grade changing and treatment duration. Also this study performed to evaluate the relationship between dysmenorrhea and acne scars, and the effects of each treatment on treatment duration and Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS) and QGASC grade.Methods : 95 patients with acne scars were understood by medical records and case photos, and we evaluated pre and post acne scar grade based on KAGS and QGASC. We analyzed data by SPSS 22 for windows program, and figured out the relation between duration of acne and QGASC grade and treatment duration by Spearman correlation analysis, and performed Mann-Whitney U-test to figure out the relation between dysmenorrhea and QGASC grade. We performed Wilcoxon test to evaluate that treatment of acne scars effects on KAGS grade and QGASC grade, and performed Kruskal-Wallis test to figure out the difference of each treatment which effects on KAGS grade and QGASC grade, and performed Post-hoc analysis to figure out the group comparison.Results & Conclusions : QGASC grade depending on duration of acne was statistically significance. Subcision and Microneedle Therapy System(MTS) and pharmacopuncture were significantly improved acne scars. Other treatments were significantly more effective than subcision and pharmacopuncture combined treatment. Treatment duration of Subcision and MTS combined treatment was significantly most shortest than other treatment.

The purpose of this study was to compare acne recognition and management methods for those in their 20s and 30s who live in China and have acne. A total of 600 questionnaires were distributed and 533 copies were used for final analysis, excluding 27 of the 560 collected questionnaires. As a result of the study, the difference in perception of the cause of acne, management perception, and exacerbation factor of Chinese people according to age showed'management perception' t=3.380, and deteriorating factor recognition' t=2.314, indicating that there was a difference in perception of acne according to age. It was found that the recognition degree of acne is higher in the 20s than in the 30s. Through this study, by comparing and analyzing the perceptions and management methods of acne according to the age of Chinese people, the changes in acne management perception and behavior according to the change of the times were identified, and the difference between Korean and Chinese perceptions of acne, and later acne skin It is believed that it can be provided as a basic data for finding an effective management method.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to present effect of transtherapy which is treatment of Korean Medicine to acne scar patients. Methods: We used transtherapy to moderate and severe acne scar patients and evaluated by a Photo evaluation with 10-point score and Qualitative Global Acne Scarring Grading System. Results: After transtherapy treatment, mean of Qualitative Global Acne Scarring Grading System of patients changed from $3.5{\pm}0.71$ to $1.5{\pm}0.71$. Acne scar showed an improvement at least 8 up to 9 and mean of their acne scar improvement scores was $8.33{\pm}0.52$ on photo evaluation with 10-point score. Conclusions: This paper shows that transtherapy in the treatment of moderate to severe acne scars is beneficial for promoting skin regeneration.

Purpose: This study aims to explain the effect of Chungsangbangpoong-Tang(as followed CBT) on an adulthoods' acne vulgaris. Methods: This is a case report on a female patient who has been suffering from acne vulgaris since she was 19 years old. To make her acne condition better, we designed to provide a specific combined treatment, mainly drinking CBT 2 or 3 times per a day with taking a herbal, acupuncture therapy and acupuncture once per every week through whole session. Results: After a series of we prescribed CBT treatments, we could find that CBT treatments are effective and available to ameliorate for her symptoms of acne vulgaris within its period. Conclusion: This clinical case study shows us that CBT might have not only a potentiality as a new acne treatment but also an effect as a new available prescription for adulthoods' acne. Hence more specific studies about CBT should be demanded in a treatment fields of adulthoods' acne vulgaris as soon as possible.

Objectives : This study was to performed to investigate the effect of herbal steam therapy on acne vulgaris. Methods : 6 patients with acne vulgaris were treated with korean medicine therapy (herbal medicine and acupunture) including herbal steam therapy. We evaluated the effect by Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS) and Pictures. Results : After treatment, the KAGS Grade of all patients treated with korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy is 1. Based on this, we could find that korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy is effective and available to ameliorate for the symptoms of acne vulgaris. Conclusions : This clinical cases study shows us that korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy seem to be effective to improve symptoms of acne vulgaris. Further studies will be needed to identify herbal steam therapy is beneficial to acne vulgaris.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to review clinical studies about the efficacy of fire needling for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Methods and Results : In this review, Oasis, NDSL, CNKI, PubMed, Cochrane, J STAGE and CINII were used as the main databases for searching for medical journals, using the keywords "acne and fire needling"," acne and fire needle"," acne and fire acupuncture", and" acne and red hot needle". The initial search range included only randomized controlled trials (RCTs), and papers not matching inclusion criteria were excluded. Initially a total of 108 studies were found, with ten being excluded during title and abstract screening. After scanning 98 papers, a total of 31 RCTs were selected and analyzed. In the 31 RCTs, patients with acne were randomized into groups for treatment and control. Specifically, the treatment group received fire needling, while the control group were concurrently given other treatments. The results of the completed studies have shown that the treatment group receiving fire needling demonstrated significant improvement compared to the control group. Conclusion : During our study, it was verified that the efficacy of fire needling for the treatment of acne vulgaris was both significant and meaningful. Therefore, fire needling can be a safe and effective alternative treatment for acne. However, to confirm this result, further investigation in a traditional clinic is required, accompanied by high quality studies including randomized, placebo-controlled double-blind trials.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to present the effect of subcision, microneedle therapy system and herbal peeling therapy which is treatment of Korean medicine to atrophic acne scar patients. Methods : We administered subcision, microneedle therapy system and herbal peeling therapy to atrophic acne scar patients and tested the results by Qualitative Global Acne Scarring Grading System and Korean Acne Grading System as well. Results : After the treatment, all of the patients showed improvements in Qualitative Global Acne Scarring Grading System and Korean Acne Grading System as well. Qualitative Global Acne Scarring Grading System of patients changed from grade 2.71±0.71 to grade 1.14±0.86 along with the change of Korean Acne Grading System from grade 1.57±0.57 to grade 1.00±0.00. Conclusions : Subcision, microneedle therapy system and herbal peeling therapy may be effective in the treatment of moderate to severe acne scars, and could be applied in clinical practice.

The perpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental demonstration treatment for Acne. Acne is an facial skin problems with depress, white head on the facial skin and bad smell. Objectives We experienced one case of Acne through acupuncture, cupping, herbal medication and herbal patch. 24 years old female patient suffered from acne with bad smell and depress. Method She was taken 23 times of acupuncture and cupping treatment, 30days of taking herb medicine and 7days for herbal patch(brand named Lee Myung Lae patch). Results After 23 times treatment her acne symtoms was improved. Conculusion Asian medical treatment could be safe and effective to American patient.
