This paper describes on characteristics of 2" 3C-SiC wafer bonding using PECVD (plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition) oxide and HF (hydrofluoride acid) for SiCOI (SiC-on-Insulator) structures and MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) applications. In this work, insulator layers were formed on a heteroepitaxial 3C-SiC film grown on a Si (001) wafer by thermal wet oxidation and PECVD process, successively. The pre-bonding of two polished PECVD oxide layers made the surface activation in HF and bonded under applied pressure. The bonding characteristics were evaluated by the effect of HF concentration used in the surface treatment on the roughness of the oxide and pre-bonding strength. Hydrophilic character of the oxidized 3C-SiC film surface was investigated by ATR-FTIR (attenuated total reflection Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy). The root-mean-square suface roughness of the oxidized SiC layers was measured by AFM (atomic force microscope). The strength of the bond was measured by tensile strength meter. The bonded interface was also analyzed by IR camera and SEM (scanning electron microscope), and there are no bubbles or cavities in the bonding interface. The bonding strength initially increases with increasing HF concentration and reaches the maximum value at 2.0 % and then decreases. These results indicate that the 3C-SiC wafer direct bonding technique will offers significant advantages in the harsh MEMS applications.ions.

This study examinated the application in construction field and the development of waterproofing material system by the spray water-soluble rubber asphalt to solve the problems of synthetic polymer sheet and gio membrane(A mat sheet of Bentonite) that had been used domestic waterproofing material in advance. As the result of study, characters of study water-souble rubber asphalt are the follows; 1) The amount of water absorption was '0.06'g and the seepage quantity was '0'g in result. 2) The tensile strength was about 30.7kgf/$cm^2$ and the elongation was about 72.4% in result. 3) After reliance of temperature test had been ended, the tensile strength was about 72.4kg/$cm^2$ in low temperature and about 30.7kgf/$cm^2$ in normal temperature. 4) After acid and alkaline treatment had been ended, the tensile strength was about 19.7kgf/$cm^2$ and about 21.9kgf/$cm^2$ in result. 5) After chlorine ion treatment had been ended, the tensile strength was 28.5kgf/$cm^2$ and the elongation was 250% in result. So, this study can propose the spray water-soluble rubber asphalt to satisfy the security and durability of waste filled land.
The teat cup liner compounds with improved physical property were developed using tri-polymer blend of natural rubber(NR), ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber(EPDM) and butyl rubber, and the changes of the physical properties of compounds were measured under various conditions such as standard, thermal, alkaline detergent and acid solutions aging conditions. The hardness of the new teat cup liner compound 1 was 50 and that of the compound 2 was 51 under standard condition. The tensile strength and elongation of the new compound 1 were $154kgf/cm^2$ and 675% under the standard condition, respectively. Also, those of the new compound 2 were 180 kgf/cm and 634% under the same condition. Their hardness were increased about $2{\sim}6%$ and the tensile strength and elongation were decreased about 10% under the $25^{\circ}C$ water and detergent solutions. Even though the new teat cup liner compounds exhibited so much decreased tensile properties under the $105^{\circ}C$ thermal aged condition, they sustained more stable aged physical properties including tensile strength and elongation than those of imported teat cup liner materials. Consequently, the new teat cup liner compounds would give prolonged lift cycle if they are used as a teat cup liner product.
The binder polymers for digital textile printing(DTP) pigment inks were prepared using miniemulsion polymerization with various monomer compositions to study effects of monomer compositions on particle size distribution, average molecular weight, Tg, and color strength and rubbing fastness of the dyed fabrics with the prepared binder based pigment ink. The monomers used were MMA(Methyl methacrylate), BA(Butyl acrylate), MAA(Methacrylic acid), NMA(N-methylol acrylamide), NEA(N-ethylol acrylamide) and the ratios of the monomers were changed. The particle size was the smallest with 136nm when the MMA to BA weight ratio was 4:16 and the largest with 290nm when the MMA, BA, MAA, NEA ratio was 2.5:17:0.25:0.25. However, the glass transition temperature was lowest with $-41.90^{\circ}C$ and the color strength and rubbing fastness of the resulting sample were the best when the MMA, BA, MAA, NEA ratio was used. This suggested that the introduction of the NEA monomer to the binder polymer for the pigment ink could be an efficient way to enhance the rubbing fastness of the DTP pigment inks present.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the application method of universal adhesives on the shear bond strength (SBS) of repaired composites, applied with different thicknesses. Materials and Methods: The 84 specimens (Filtek Z350 XT) were prepared, stored in distilled water for a week and thermocycled (5,000 cycles, 5℃ to 55℃). They were roughened using 400-grit sandpapers and etched with phosphoric acid. Then, specimens were equally divided into 2 groups; Single Bond Universal (SU) and Prime&Bond Universal (PB). Each group was subdivided into 3 subgroups according to application methods (n = 14); UC: 1 coat + uncuring, 1C: 1 coat + curing, 3C: 3 coats + curing. After storage of the repaired composite for 24 hours, specimens were subjected to the SBS test and the data were statistically analyzed by 2-way analysis of variance and independent t-tests. Specimens were examined with a stereomicroscope to analyze fracture mode and a scanning electron microscope to observe the interface. Results: Adhesive material was a significant factor (p = 0.001). Bond strengths with SU were higher than PB. The highest strength was obtained from the 1C group with SU. Bonding in multiple layers increased adhesive thicknesses, but there was no significant difference in SBS values (p = 0.255). Failure mode was predominantly cohesive in old composites. Conclusions: The application of an adequate bonding system plays an important role in repairing composite resin. SU showed higher SBS than PB and the additional layers increased the adhesive thickness without affecting SBS.
Nanotechnology is a popular field in the construction industry due to its multiple functions. It mitigates CO2 emissions and enhances the desirable properties of concrete by replacing small amounts of cement with supplements. This study assess the sustainability impact of using two different nanoparticles partially replacing the cement with 0.3%, 0.6%, 1.0% of nano silica (NS) and 0.03%, 0.045%, 0.06% of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) in the green concrete mix developement. Nano-sized fragments at the atomic scale tends to modify the properties of concrete. Concrete may increase its strength, durability by adding nanocomposite materials, which will decrease the amount of nano and micropores in structural parts. The strength of the structural elements can be greatly improved and allowing them to withstand higher loads and resist deformation. It improved durability properties by 64.8% in water absorption, 56.4% in acid attack, 78.1% in sulphate attack, and 53.4% in chloride attack. There was an improvement in compressive strength of 37% and split tensile strength of 90%. SEM, FTIR, and XRD investigations have used to look at the microstructural characteristics of nanoconcrete dictated the microstructure characteristics may be made more consistent and dense by adding nanocomposite materials.
It has been submitted that different ion solutions containing sulfate induce crystal growth and might substitute conventional acid etching for pretreatment of enamel in orthodontic bonding(${\AA}rtun$ et al., Am. J. Orthod. 85, 333, 1984). This investigation was designed to evaluate the relevance of crystal growth on the enamel surface as an alternative to conventional acid etching in direct bonding of orthodontic brackets. Annexing Li2SO4, MgSO4, K2SO4 respectively in the solution with $25\%$ polyacrylic md 0.3M sulfuric acids were employed to enhance the crystal growth. Human bicuspids were treated with various parameters as combinations of crystal growth and glass ionomer cement, crystal growth and orthodontic resin, acid etching and orthodontic resin for an investigative purpose. Crystal growth solution containing MgSO4 showed the highest shear bond strength(15.6MPa) within the groups of bonding brackets with glass ionomer cement(p<0.01). Bonding with glass ionomer cement on the surface of crystal growth demonstrated higher shear bond strength than with orthodontic resin(p<0.001). Bonding with glass ionomer cement on the surface treated with crystal growth solution containing MgSO4 or K2SO4 was not different shear bond strength statistically from bonding with orthodontic resin on the acid-etched surface. It suggests that bonding brackets with glass ionomer cement on the surface treated with crystal growth solution containing MgSO4 or K2SO4 is a potential alternative to bonding with resin on the acid etched sufrace.

Effects of various plasticizers (1.5%) such as glycerol, sorbitol, fructose, sucrose, and polypropylene glycol, and ferulic acid on the physical properties of Gelidium corneum (GC) film were examined. GC films containing plasticizer and ferulic acid were prepared by incorporating various amounts (10, 30, 50, 70, 100 mg/100 mL) of ferulic acid into the film. Water vapor permeability (WVP) of the GC film varied depending on the type of plasticizer, and among them the film containing sucrose had the lowest WVP. Tensile strength (TS) and % elongation (%E) of the film were in the range of $1.29{\sim}11.29$ MPa and $5.55{\sim}36.44$ %, respectively, and the WVP values were of $1.30{\sim}1.60\;ng\;m/m^{2}sPa$. In addition, the GC films were prepared using ferulic acid as a cross-linking agent. WVP of the film decreased with the addition of ferulic acid, and the film containing 30 mg ferulic acid had the lowest WVP value. TS value of the GC film containing 10 mg of ferulic acid was significantly higher than that of the control. However, further increase of ferulic acid concentration decreased the TS value. Therefore, 10 mg of ferulic acid was determined to be the optimal concentration for the film.
Imported seaweeds Gracilaria sp. and Gelidium sp. from the Philippines and Gracilaria sp. from Brazil were subjected to the examination of yield and quality of agar according to various pretreatment conditions. As pretreatment condition for alkali-treated Gracilaria sp. from the Philippines, $0.05{\sim}0.1%$ concentration of sulfuric acid was proper to obtain the higher yield of agar for which a reverse proportionality was shown between the acid concentration and the strength of extraction condition. Highest yield from Gelidium sp. from the Philippines was obtained by pretreating with 5% sodium hydroxide at $90^{\circ}C$ for one hour, followed by 0.1% sulfuric acid treatment. Gracilaria sp. from Brazil gave the highest yield of agar by pretreatments with 1% sodium hydroxide followed by 0.05% sulfuric acid, both at room temperature for one hour. Acid treatment of alkali-treated Gracilaria sp. from the Philippines brought about the decrease of total nitrogen, total sulfur and crude ash, the increase of jelly strength and no marked change in gelation point and gelation ability. In general, acid-treatment conditions to give rise to high yield of agar improved the quality of product.

To improve the optical characteristics and antifouling of anti-reflective coating (AR) films, various AR coating films were prepared by varying the mixing ratio of tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS)/base and methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS)/acid hybrid solution. Prepared AR coating films were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, contact angle analyzer, atomic force microscope (AFM), FT-IR and pencil scratch hardness test. In an AR coating film that prepared from the hybrid solution with a 10 wt% MTMS/acid solution, the glass substrate showed an excellent optical property (97.2% transmittance), good antifouling ($121^{\circ}$ water contact angle and $90^{\circ}\;CH_2I_2$ contact angle) and moderate mechanical strength (pencil hardness of 4 H). In particular, it is considered that the good antifouling was due to the well dispersion of the methyl group ($-CH_3$), derived from a small amount of MTMS/acid solution in the hybrid solution, on the substrate surface. From results of the pencil hardness test, the mechanical strength of AR coating film was improved as the content of MTMS/acid solution increased.
