Existing Differential GPS (DGPS) pseudorange correction (PRC) generation techniques based on a virtual reference station cannot effectively assign a weighting factor if the baseline distance between a user and a reference station is not long enough. In this study, a virtual reference station DGPS PRC generation technique was developed based on an enhanced inverse distance weighting method using an exponential function that can maximize a small baseline distance difference due to the dense arrangement of DGPS reference stations in South Korea, and its positioning performance was validated. For the performance verification, the performance of the model developed in this study (EIDW) was compared with those of typical inverse distance weighting (IDW), first- and second-order multiple linear regression analyses (Planar 1 and 2), the model of Abousalem (1996) (Ab_EXP), and the model of Kim (2013) (Kim_EXP). The model developed in the present study had a horizontal accuracy of 53 cm, and the positioning based on the second-order multiple linear regression analysis that showed the highest positioning accuracy among the existing models had a horizontal accuracy of 51 cm, indicating that they have similar levels of performance. Also, when positioning was performed using five reference stations, the horizontal accuracy of the developed model improved by 8 ~ 42% compared to those of the existing models. In particular, the bias was improved by up to 27 cm.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to assess the accuracy of provisional restorative resins fabricated using dental three-dimensional (3D) printers. Methods: Provisional restorative resins were fabricated using the first molar of the right mandibular. Three groups comprising a total of 24 samples of such resins were fabricated. The prepared abutment was scanned initially and then designed using a computer-aided design (CAD) software. The conventional subtractive manufacturing system was employed to fabricate the first group of resins, while the second and third groups were fabricated using a digital light processing (DLP) 3D printer and a stereolithography (SLA) 3D printer, respectively. The internal surfaces of the resins were scanned and 3D measurements of the resins were taken to confirm their accuracy. Results: The root-mean-square deviation (RMS±SD) of the accuracy of the resins fabricated using the conventional subtractive manufacturing system, DLP 3D printer, and SLA 3D printer were 68.83±2.22 ㎛, 74.63±6.23 ㎛, and 61.74±4.09 ㎛, respectively. A one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test showed significant differences between the three groups (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Provisional restorative resins fabricated using DLP and SLA 3D printers demonstrated clinically-acceptable results.

Accurate estimates of in place thickness of early age (3 to 28 days after casting) concrete pavements are needed, where a thickness accuracy of ${\pm}6mm$ is desired. The impact-echo method is a standardized non-destructive technique that has been applied for this task. However, the ability of impact-echo to achieve this precision goal is affected by Vp (measured) and ${\beta}$ (assumed) values that are applied in the computation. A deeper understanding of the effects of these parameters on the accuracy of impact-echo should allow the technique to be improved to meet the desired accuracy goal. In this paper, the results of experimental tests carried out on a range of concrete slabs are reported. Impact-echo thickness estimation errors caused by material property gradients and sensor type are identified. Correction factors to the standard analysis method are proposed to correct the identified errors and to increase the accuracy of the standard method. Results show that improved accuracy can be obtained in the field by applying these recommendations with the standard impact-echo method.

In order to improve the quality of a spindle unit it is important to increase its rotational accuracy. The rotational accuracy of a spindle unit can be defined as the stability or immobility of its spindle axis while rotating. Spindle rotation in the rolling bearings causes the disturbing influence, which leads to the oscillation of a rotation axis. The purpose of this study is to investigate the oscillation sources and find a way to decrease the runout without additional expenses. The main source of oscillation is the interaction between rolling bodies and ring races. The first oscillation source was the out-of-shape imperfection of inner bearing ring. The mutual compensation of oscillation by proper rings orientation was proposed, which sometimes allow to decrease the radial runout of spindle rotation axis by approximate 40% down. Also the outer ring harmonics were explored as the second oscillation source. The analysis shows the dependency between the number of rolling bodies and the outer ring race harmonics. The conclusion on the orientation of bearing cages and the bearing rings was made, which makes possible to obtain the optimal variant of their mounting in the spindle unit when the rotational accuracy of the spindle is maximal, and the spindle runout considerably less.
The concept models are used for the analysis of joints because they are simple to use and accurate. The modeling parameters of concept models are estimated using the results of experiments performed on the joints. The concept joint models accurately describe the behavior of joints under the loads which are used in the experiments for the estimation of parameters. However, they may not be accurate under the loads which are not used in the experiments. The accuracy can be dependent on the loads which are used in the evaluation of accuracy. In this study, antioptimization is presented to find the worst possible loads, under which the accuracy of concept joint models can be evaluated. The procedure was applied to the accuracy evaluation of concept joint models in an isolated 3-D joint and 2-D joints of a vehicle structure.
The optical wide-field patrol network (OWL-Net) is a Korean optical surveillance system that tracks and monitors domestic satellites. In this study, a batch least squares algorithm was developed for optical measurements and verified by Monte Carlo simulation and covariance analysis. Potential error sources of OWL-Net, such as noise, bias, and clock errors, were analyzed. There is a linear relation between the estimation accuracy and the noise level, and the accuracy significantly depends on the declination bias. In addition, the time-tagging error significantly degrades the observation accuracy, while the time-synchronization offset corresponds to the orbital motion. The Cartesian state vector and measurement bias were determined using the OWL-Net tracking data of the KOMPSAT-1 and Cryosat-2 satellites. The comparison with known orbital information based on two-line elements (TLE) and the consolidated prediction format (CPF) shows that the orbit determination accuracy is similar to that of TLE. Furthermore, the precision and accuracy of OWL-Net observation data were determined to be tens of arcsec and sub-degree level, respectively.
Nowadays the magnetic field mapping is widely used in the design and analysis of the NMR/MRI magnet system, and the accuracy of mapping result has become more and more important. There are several factors affecting the accuracy of the mapping such as the mapping method, the precision of the sensor, the position of the measurement points, the calculation accuracy, and so on. In this paper the error due to the misalignment of the measurement points was discussed. The magnetic field in the central volume was mapped using an indirect method in an MRI magnet system and the magnetic field was fitted to a polynomial. Considering the misalignment between the original measurement points and the practical measurement points, there must be some errors in the mapping calculation and we called it positioning error. Several comparisons of the positioning error have been presented through the theoretical estimates and the exact magnetic field values. Finally, the allowable positioning errors were suggested to guarantee the accuracy of the magnetic field mapping within a certain degree for an example case.

This research aims at investigation of accuracy potential of RTK(Real-Time Kinematic) GPS in combination with Echo Sounder(E/S) for the coastal mapping. Apart from this purpose, the accuracy of ambiguity resolution with the OTF(On The Fly) method was tested with respect to the initialization time. The result shows that the accuracy is better than 1cm with 5-minute initialization in the distance of 10km baseline. The seaside topography was measured by the RTK GPS only, on the other hand the seafloor topography was surveyed in combination of RTK GPS and E/S. Comparing to the volume of seaside measured by RTK GPS and digital topographical map, the difference of only 2% was achieved. This indicates that the coastal mapping. As a result, it has been revealed that every possible noise in surveying could be corrected and the accuracy could be improved. The accuracy of GPS data acquired in real time was as good as that acquired by post processing. It is expected that it will be useful for the analysis of coastal geographic characteristics because DTM(Digital Terrain Model) can be also constructed for the harbor reclamation, the dredging, and the variation of soil movement in a river.

Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a well-known machine learning classification algorithm, which has been widely applied to many data mining problems, with good accuracy. However, SVM classification speed decreases with increase in dataset size. Some applications, like video surveillance and intrusion detection, requires a classifier to be trained very quickly, and on large datasets. Hence, this paper introduces two filter-based instance selection techniques for optimizing SVM training speed. Fast classification is often achieved at the expense of classification accuracy, and some applications, such as phishing and spam email classifiers, are very sensitive to slight drop in classification accuracy. Hence, this paper also introduces two wrapper-based instance selection techniques for improving SVM predictive accuracy and training speed. The wrapper and filter based techniques are inspired by Cuckoo Search Algorithm and Bat Algorithm. The proposed techniques are validated on three popular e-fraud types: credit card fraud, spam email and phishing email. In addition, the proposed techniques are validated on 20 other datasets provided by UCI data repository. Moreover, statistical analysis is performed and experimental results reveals that the filter-based and wrapper-based techniques significantly improved SVM classification speed. Also, results reveal that the wrapper-based techniques improved SVM predictive accuracy in most cases.

It is possible to extract a 3D models from its multiple views using the self-calibration. Though it is possible to construct 3D models of objects from their multiple views, accuracy of 3D models depends on the fundamental matrix estimated between two views. In this paper, we show the fundamental matrix accuracy can be improved by taking a non-linear minimization technique. Furthermore, the corresponding points which are completely mismatches or have greater discrepancy errors in their locations, reduce the fundamental matrix accuracy. Thus, applying the Monte Carlo technique and the non-linear minimization Levenberg-Marquardt method to remove the outliers, we can estimate the fundamental matrix with the higher accuracy.
