  • Purpose: This study was to examine the values of marriage, gender-role and having children, and to explore the factors impacting the values of having children by university students. Methods: A cross-sectional design and structured questionnaires were adopted for data collection of university students in September through November, 2011. Structured questionnaires were based on participants' socio-demographics and scales on values of marriage, gender role and children developed by Young-Mi Park. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchical multiple regression were applied to data analysis. Results: A total of 366 university students participated in this study. Females and nursing students had negative values toward having children and marriage and positive thoughts about the value of gender role. The value of having children was positively associated with marriage (r=.61, p<.001) and negatively with gender role (r=-.11, p<.032). Relationship between gender role and marriage was negative (r=-.28, p<.001). Hierarchical multiple regression found that the value of children was significantly predicted by the value of marriage.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of CEDA (Cross Examination Debate Association) debate with those of traditional lecture education on moral judgment and ethical values using the Korean version of DIT and the ethical values. Methods: The experiment was performed for 9 weeks, from September 2 to November 12, 2010. Participants were 71 undergraduate nursing students in a nursing college, assigned to an experimental group (36 students) or a control group (35 students). The design of this study was a non equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Results: The experimental group reported significantly higher scores of the 4 stage scores of moral judgment (t=-2.19, p=.036) and ethical values (t=3.04, p=.004) than the control group. However, no significant differences were found in the P score of moral judgment between the two groups. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed the benefits of providing a CEDA debate course for nursing ethics education. Therefore, in further studies, it is necessary to develop various teaching strategies or educational programs to improve nursing ethical values and moral judgment.

  • This exploratory study considers the difference between personal and perceived societal values related to South Korean women's role in the home, workplace, and society using eight items asked on the Korean Academic Multimode Open Survey (KAMOS), May-July 2017. Factor analysis showed that these eight items could be grouped into two categories: women's role in her family and women's in the outside world. Of the 2,000 respondents, 54.1% personally agreed that "Both the husband and wife should contribute to their family income." People in their 30s felt the largest gap between their personal and societal values; women also felt a larger gap than men. Those who watched television more were generally more conservative than those who used the Internet more. People who felt a smaller gap between societal and personal values were more likely to feel proud to be a Korean citizen. People who believe that it is better not to marry felt a bigger gap between some societal and personal values on items relating to whether a wife should work, whether a woman's housework or paid job is more valuable, and whether women's job performance is equal to men's. People who believe that divorce is sometimes acceptable were also more likely to feel a bigger difference in two items: the item about job performance and an item about whether a married woman's social status is dependent on her husband's.

This study was conducted from May 1 to June 23, 2023, and applied the Havruta learning method for 6 weeks to 38 second-year radiologists taking a radiology technology course at a university in Jeollanam-do. SPSS/WIN 21.0 was used for data analysis, the reliability of the scale was verified, the subject's general characteristics, pre-test values and post-test values for measurement variables were verified with descriptive statistics, and the difference between before and after the Havruta learning method was verified with paired t-test. Research results show that the Havruta learning method improves academic self-efficacy (t=-2.70, p<.001), academic achievement (t=-2.87, p=.006), and communication skills (t=-2.76, p=.008). showed a statistically significant difference. As a result, Havruta learning method was confirmed as an effective learning method that improves academic self-efficacy, academic achievement, and communication skills of radiology college students. • With the growing interests in ICT convergence, interdisciplinary researches are still actively discussed and studied today such as cultural atlas DB, electronic cultural atlas. Electronic cultural atlas can show various cultural aspects on the map by using point, line, polygon, and so on. Users can obtain the informations connected to the three values through manipulating theme, spatial and time values. In this regard, text information can be visualized as various ways like point, line, and polygon on the map. This can make the user get information effectively by usability, accessibility and immediacy of the system. In this paper, we implemented academic journal map system based on the electronic cultural atlas using Google Maps. This system supports various journals information services based on electronic cultural atlas and can be used efficiently as a tool for academic trends analysis. Also, it provides academic material through visualization of information based on the map. In detail, it can be utilized as the foundations for research of Humanities and Area Studies.
