We present the detection characteristics of nitrogen monoxide(NO) gas using p-type copper oxide(CuO) thin film gas sensors. The CuO thin films were fabricated on glass substrates by a sol-gel spin coating method using copper acetate hydrate and diethanolamine as precursors. Structural characterizations revealed that we prepared the pure CuO thin films having a monoclinic crystalline structure without any obvious formation of secondary phase. It was found from the NO gas sensing measurements that the p-type CuO thin film gas sensors exhibited a maximum sensitivity to NO gas in dry air at an operating temperature as low as $100^{\circ}C$. Additionally, these CuO thin film gas sensors were found to show reversible and reliable electrical response to NO gas in a range of operating temperatures from $60^{\circ}C$ to $200^{\circ}C$. It is supposed from these results that the p-type oxide semiconductor CuO thin film could have significant potential for use in future gas sensors and other oxide electronics applications using oxide p-n heterojunction structures.
Thermochromic $Vo_{2}$ thin films for "smart windows" were prepared by electron beam evaporationmethod on a glass substrate and spectral transmittances were examined by spectrophotometer. Substratetemperature of $300^{\circ}C$ and annealing temperature of $400^{\circ}C$ were found to be effective to give athermochromism on $Vo_{2}$ thin film due to the crystallization of the thin film. Furthermore, annealing of$Vo_{2}$ thin film affected the spectral transmittance and reduced the transmittance significantly at wavelengthbelow 500nm.$V_{0.95}W_{0.05}O_{2}$ thin film doped by 5 atomic percent of W showed semiconductor-metal transition around 0$0^{\circ}V_{0.995}W_{0.005}O_{2}$thin film which contains 0.5 atomic percent Sn showed therrnochrornisrn when it was depositedat substrate temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ and annealed at $450^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours in argon gas. The transitiontemperature of the $V_{0.995}W_{0.005}O_{2}$ thin film was found to be about $25^{\circ}C$ and showed some hysterisis. and showed some hysterisis.

This paper presents annealing characteristics of CrN thin-film strain gauges, which were deposited on glass by DC reactive magnetron sputtering in an argon-nitrogen atmosphere)Ar-(5-~25%)$N_2$. The physical and electrical characteristics of these films investigated with the thickness range 3500$\AA$ of CrN thin films, annealing temperature (100~30$0^{\circ}C$) and annealing time (24-72hr) . The optimized condition of CrN thin-film strain gauges were thickness range of 3500$\AA$ and annealing condition(30$0^{\circ}C$ , 48hr) in Ar-10%$N_2$ deposition atmosphere. Under optimum conditions, the CrN thin-films for strain gauge is obtained a high resistivity, $\rho$=1147.65$\Omega$cm a low temperature coefficient of 11.17. And change in resistance after annealing for the CrN thin film were quitely linear and stable.
Ni(75 wt.%)-Cr(20 wt.%)-Al(3 wt.%)-Mn(4 wt.%)-Si(1 wt.%) alloy thin films were prepared using the DC magnetron sputtering process by varying the sputtering conditions such as power, pressure, substrate temperature, and post-deposition annealing temperature in order to fabricate a precision thin film resistor. For all the thin film resistors, sheet resistance, temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR), and crystallinity were analyzed and the effects of sputtering conditions on their properties were also investigated. The oxygen content and TCR of Ni-Cr-Al-Mn-Si resistors were decreased by increasing the sputtering pressure. Their sheet resistance, TCR, and crystallinity were enhanced by elevating the substrate temperature. In addition, the annealing of the resistor thin films in air at a temperature higher than $300^{\circ}C$ lead to a remarkable rise in their sheet resistance and TCR. This may be attributed to the improved formation of NiO layer on the surface of the resistor thin film at an elevated temperature.
Nanocrystalline CoFeHfO thin films have been fabricated by RF sputtering method. It is shown that the CoFeHfO thin films possess not only high electrical resistivity but also large saturation magnetization and anisotropy field. Among the composition investigated, $Co_{53}FE_{22}Hf_{10}O_{15}$ thin film is observed to exhibit good soft magnetic properties: coercivity ($H_{c}$) of 0.18 Oe; anisotropy fild ($H_{k}$) of 49.92 Oe; saturation magnetization ($4{\Pi}M_{s}$) of 15.5 kG. The frequency response of permeability of the film is excellent. The excellent magnetic properties of this film in addition of an extremely high electrical resistivity (r) of $185\;{\mu}cm$ make it ideal for uses in high-frequency applications of micromagnetic devices. It is the formation of a peculiar microstructure that resulted in the superior properties of this film.
We analyze the buckling of a thin elastic plate due to intrinsic stresses in thin films attached to the surfaces of the plate. In the case of cylindrical buckling, it is shown that for a plate with clamped edges compressive intrinsic film stresses can cause flexural buckling of the plate, while tensile intrinsic film stresses cannot. For a plate with free edges, film intrinsic stresses, compressive or tensile, cannot cause buckling.
Thin films of tin-oxide were prepared by chemical vapor deposition technique using the direct of SnCl4. Resistivity and carrier concentration of deposited SnO2 thin film were measured by 4-point probe method and Hall effect measurement. The results showed the remarkable dependence of electrical properties on the deposition temperature. As the deposition temperature increased, resistivity of deposited film initially decreased to a minimum value of ~10-3$\Omega$cm at 50$0^{\circ}C$, and then rapidly increased to ~10$\Omega$cm at $700^{\circ}C$. Electrical conductance of these films was measured in exposure to H2 gas. It was found that gas sensitivity was affected combination of film thickness and intrinsic resistivity of deposited film. Gas sensitivity increased with decrease of film thickness. Fairly high sensitivity to H2 gas was obtained for the film deposited at $700^{\circ}C$. Optimum operation temperature of sensing was 30$0^{\circ}C$ for H2 gas.

The $(Sr_{0.9}Ca_{0.1})TiO_3(SCT)$ thin films were deposited on Pt-coated electrode (Pt/TiN/$SiO_2$/Si) using RF sputtering method. The composition of SCT thin film deposited on Si substrate at room temperature is close to stoichiometry(1.081 in A/B ratio). The maximum dielectric constant of SCT thin film was obtained by ammealing at $600^{\cric}C$. The temperature dependence of dielectric loss showed a value within 0.02 in temperature ranges of -80 ${\sim}$ +90$^{\circ}C$. The capacitance characteristics showed a stable value within ${\pm}$4%. The drastic decrease of dielectric constant and increase of dielectric loss in SCT thin films was observed at the frequency above 200kHz.

This paper describes the thermal and mechanical properties of doped thin film 3C-SiC and porous 3C-SiC. In this work, the in-situ doped thin film 3C-SiC was deposited by using atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) method at $120^{\circ}C$ using single-precursor hexamethyildisilane: $Si_2(CH_3)_6$ (HMDS) as Si and C precursors. 0~40 sccm $N_2$ gas was used as doping source. After growing of doped thin film 3C-SiC, porous structure was achieved by anodization process with 380 nm UV-LED. Anodization time and current density were fixed at 60 sec and 7.1 mA/$cm^2$, respectively. The thermal and mechanical properties of the $N_2$ doped porous 3C-SiC was measured by temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and nano-indentation, respectively. In the case of 0 sccm, the variations of TCR of thin film and porous 3C-SiC are similar, but TCR conversely changed with increase of $N_2$ flow rate. Maximum young's modulus and hardness of porous 3C-SiC films were measured to be 276 GPa and 32 Gpa at 0 sccm $N_2$, respectively.
We analyze the current density - voltage (J - V) curve of a Cu(In,Ga)$Se_2$ (CIGS) thin-film solar cell measured at different irradiation power densities. For the solar-cell sample investigated in this study, the fill factor and power conversion efficiency decreased as the irradiation power density (IPD) increased in the range of 2 to 5 sun. Characteristic parameters of solar cell including the series resistance ($r_s$), the shunt resistance ($r_{sh}$), the photocurrent density ($J_L$), the saturation current density ($J_s$) of an ideal diode, and the coefficient ($C_s$) of the diode current due to electron-hole recombination via ionized traps at the p-n interface are determined from a theoretical fit to the experimental data of the J - V curve using a two-diode model. As IPD increased, both $r_s$ and $r_{sh}$ decreased, but $C_s$ increased.
