  • Let X be a n-set and let A = [aij] be a $n {\times} n$ matrix for which $aij {\subseteq} X$, for $1 {\le} i,\;j {\le} n$. A is called a generalized Latin square on X, if the following conditions is satisfied: $U^n_{i=1}\;aij = X = U^n_{j=1}\;aij$. In this paper, we prove that every generalized Latin square has an orthogonal mate and introduce a Hv-structure on a set of generalized Latin squares. Finally, we prove that every generalized Latin square of order n, has a transversal set.

  • In the present study, a least square/level set based two-phase flow code has been developed using finite element discretization, which can be utilized for the analysis of a free surface flow problem in a complex geometry. Since the finite element method is employed for the spatial discretization of governing equations, an unstructured mesh can be naturally adopted for the level set simulation of a bubble-in-liquid flow without an additional load for the code development except that solution methods of the hyperbolic type redistancing and advection equations of the level set function should be devised in order to give a bounded solution on the unstructured mesh. For the discretization of hyperbolic type redistancing and advection equations, least square method is adopted. From the numerical experiments of the present study, it is shown that the proposed method is both robust and accurate.

  • In the present study, a three-dimensional least square/level set based two-phase flow code was developed for the simulation of three-dimensional sloshing problems using finite element discretization. The present method can be utilized for the analysis of a free surface flow problem in a complex geometry due to the feature of FEM. Since the finite element method is employed for the spatial discretization of governing equations, an unstructured mesh can be naturally adopted for the level set simulation of a free surface flow without an additional load for the code development except that solution methods of the hyperbolic type redistancing and advection equations of the level set function should be devised in order to give a bounded solution on the unstructured mesh. From the numerical experiments of the present study, it is shown that the proposed method is both robust and accurate for the simulation of three-dimensional sloshing problems.

  • For a given graph G = (V, E), a dominating set is a subset V' of the vertex set V so that each vertex in V \ V' is adjacent to a vertex in V'. The minimum cardinality of a dominating set of G is called the domination number of G and is denoted by γ(G). For an integer k ≥ 1, the k-th power Gk of a graph G with V (Gk) = V (G) for which uv ∈ E(Gk) if and only if 1 ≤ dG(u, v) ≤ k. Note that G2 is the square graph of a graph G. In this paper, we obtain some tight bounds for the sum of the domination numbers of a graph and its square graph in terms of the order, order and size, and maximum degree of the graph G. Also, we characterize such extremal graphs.

  • In the present study, a least square weighted residual method and Taylor-Galerkin method were formulated and tested for the discretization of the two hyperbolic type equations of level set method; advection and reinitialization equations. The two approaches were compared by solving a time reversed vortex flow and three-dimensional broken dam flow by employing a four-step splitting finite element method for the solution of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. From the numerical experiments, it was shown that the least square method is more accurate and conservative than Taylor-Galerkin method and both methods are approximately first order accurate when both advection and reinitialization phase are involved in the evolution of free surface.

  • For each positive integer n, a square congruence graph S(n) is the graph with vertex set H = {1, 2, 3,...., n} and two vertices a, b are adjacent if they are distinct and a2 ≡ b2 (mod n). In this paper we investigate some structural properties of square congruence graph and we obtain the relationship between clique number, chromatic number and maximum degree of square congruence graph. Also we study square congruence graph with p vertices or 2p vertices for any prime number p.

  • In the present study, two-dimensional numerical investigation of flow past a square cylinder beneath the free surface has been performed to identify the effects of presence of the free surface. An immersed boundary method was adopted for implementation of the cylinder cross-section in a Cartesian grid system. Also, a level-set method was used to capture the interface of two fluids. To prevent transition to three-dimensional flow, Reynolds number chosen for this simulation was 150. The cases for Froude number 0.2 and gap ratio(h/D) between 0.25 and 5.00 were examined. At the specific Reynolds number, we study the effects of gap ratio on flow characteristics around a square cylinder by computing flow fields, force coefficients and Strouhal number.

  • The effect of the Dirichlet boundary condition for the redistance equation of level set method on the solutionof sloshing problem is investigated by adopting four Dirichlet boundary conditions. For the solution of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, P1P1 four-step fractional finite element method is employed and a least-square finite element method is used for the solutions of the two hyperbolic type equations of level set method; advection and redistance equation. ALE (Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian) method is used to deal with a moving computational domain. It has been shown that the free surface motion in a sloshing tank is strongly dependent on the type of the Dirichlet boundary condition and the results of broken dam and sloshing problems using various Dirichlet boundary conditions are discussed and compared with the existing experimental results.
