Analysis of Emotional Colors in The Mise-en-scene of The Film (영화 <로얄 테넌바움> 미장센에 나타난 감성색채 이미지 분석)

  • In film, color is a tool for storytelling and a metaphor for a story's theme. This study constructs efficient and objective data by analyzing color images of movies delivered to the audience. This Research the visual perception process of color in films and studies the processes accepted by the audience. Through this research process, we examine the emotional response caused by the visual stimulus of film color and quantify the visual factor through color in the film as a factor that effectively induces the emotional response of viewers who watch the movie. This study analyzes the mise-en-scene of Wes Anderson's film, Royal Tenenbaum, and studies the role of communication in cinematic colors. Quantitative analysis of color distribution data is performed using computer color analysis program on the colors displayed through 10 chapters of mise en scene. Through color analysis, it was analyzed that Anderson composed the movie scenes in red and yellow red (YR) with low saturation and medium brightness. Through this analysis, we study how color is used throughout the film and how the quantitative form of its use is to be used as the psychological factor controlling audience's emotion.

A Study on the Body Distortion and Deformation in Fashion Art (패션아트에 나타난 몸의 왜곡과 변형에 관한 연구)

  • In modern art, body appears as artistic performer, material or producer. and is expressed as' social environment body' which is changed in the relationship with its society and culture. The correlation between body and clothing image appears in 'body as expression object' which directly borrows human body or sets up a section of human body, 'body as medium' in which clothing substitutes body, and 'body as image' in which image of body reappears along with clothing. The results of analysis are as follows : First, 'image of expansion and exaggeration' to expand the influence of clothing thereby disclosing illusion of material civilization prevalent in our society, and make metaphor of dwarfish human's lurking fear by transforming and exaggerating human body. Second, 'image of restriction and suppression' to express the loss of humanity, power and restriction of modern society with fixing and cruelty of body image through clothing which disregard body function. Third, 'image of open and fluidity to criticize the extinction of values of human existence and standardized figure of our society by reducing three-dimensional clothing and body to untypical form or introducing the image of absent of human body to clothing. Fourth, 'image of reversion and paradox' to express practical clothing object with unwearable material, or cause confusion of sex and identity by expressing dual aspects of body at the same time. In this study, which is focused on correlation between body and clothing and the meaning of them, I realized that, even though artistic clothing expressed image of distortion and deformation of human existence as essential subject of body, they, in most contents, were used as medium of communication to rediscover human dignity and identity, and consisted of a series of metaphoric network of meanings satirizing aspects of our society.

  • Design takes concrete form from the things which are not yet exist to the molded reality. Creation of value which is accompanied by the rational value could be possible only through the searching examination of the basic concept. All designs are under circumstances because the results and the character of the problems are different under the given conditions and circumstances which are the characteristic of the design. The aim of this study is searching for the differential design conce- pt which is the most appropriate and reasonable in the basic design process in which the phase of the analysis, synthesis and evaluation of the problem. First of all the pursuit value of the times and the change of the view point of value of the product design. How the pursuit value of times were searched and analyzed. Analyze the successful product design realization of the typical trend of the modern design which are 3-2. function-focused design, 3-3. emotion-centered design, 3-4. image communicative design through the metaphor, 3-5. environmental affinity design. On the base of the case analysis how to apply the differential design concept which is coming as a trend in the future society which are sustainable developing society was examined closely. The outcome through the analysis of the success cases are as follows, \circled1 the value of the spirit of the times should be emphasized as the design image, \circled2 environmental appropriateness should be taken into consideration as the first primary factor, \circled3 the realization of value of the fulfillment of differential consumer's needs, \circled4 lead to prolong the life cycle of the product, \circled5 promote the sustaining growth of enterprise, \circled6 user-centered product value should be the first consideration. \circled7 It is necessary to overcome the cultural andinguistic barriers and to reflect the metaphor which people remember well. \circled8 The application of human's true character should be decided beforehand. It is the commonness of values of times and customs. \circled9 The differentiated design concept which meets our mental satisfaction, not material one, will be required. In addition to this the creative and differentiated design concepts which are accompanied by the good design factor under the base of product could achieve the emotional consensus from the consumers. ZMET-based Participation Motivation Analysis of Chinese Tourists's Floral Arrangement Courses Visit to Korea (ZMET을 활용한 방한 중국인 관광객의 꽃꽂이교육 관광콘텐츠 참여동기 연구)

  • In order to develop the marketing strategy of Korean floral arrangement courses for chinese tourists, this study aimed at gaining their participation motivation with application of the ZMET (Zaltman metaphor-elicitation technique). According to the results, 18 constructs ('a sense of accomplishment', 'Korean culture visit', 'teacher's high-quality service', 'professionalism', 'to be together', 'communication with others', 'joint pleasure', 'better than China', 'not available in China', 'healing', 'the feeling of happiness and love', 'easy access to art', 'wonderful life shot', 'beautiful interior', 'special design', 'expectation', 'close to nature', and 'nice daily-life decoration') were derived and 4 main constructs ('a sense of accomplishment', 'Korean culture visit', 'teacher's high-quality service', and 'professionalism') of the consensus map were analyzed. Therefore, the Korean floral arrangement courses for chinese tourists should open an adjustable level of difficulty of curriculum, offer an opportunity to experience other Korean culture and increase florist's abilities from various aspects.

  • This study examined the factors that can enhance the continuity of user experience in multi - device environment. First of all, regarding the structural difference and continuity of tasks, functional differences such as OS difference according to the characteristics of cross media, use of mouse and touch gesture were found to interfere with continuity. To increase continuity, metaphor and ambience To increase relevance and visibility. In the continuity part of visual memory and cognition, familiarity was given by the identity and similarity of visual perception elements, and it was found that familiarity factors are closely related to continuity. Finally, for the continuity of the user experience, we can see that the visibility factors as well as the meaning and layout consistency of the information are factors for the continuity of the user experience. Based on this, it was found that familiarity, consistency, and correlation were significant influences on continuity dimension of user experience, but visibility did not have a significant effect on continuity when regression analysis was conducted as factors of familiarity, consistency, correlation and visibility.

A Study on Changes in the Images of Children Possessed by Applicants for the Department of Early Childhood Education after They Enter the Department (유아교육과 지원자의 유아에 대한 이미지와 입학 후 유아에 대한 이미지 변화 연구)

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine the images of children possessed by applicants for the department of early childhood education and find out how the images of children have been changed when the applicants have entered the department from successful applicants. Study subjects were 328 applicants for the department of early childhood education and 25 students who passed the entrance examination and completed the first year. Data were collected by painting metaphors and the contents of the collected data were analyzed. According to the results of analysis, the images of children possessed by applicants for the department of early childhood education were 'beings that require sincerity, love, and attention', 'beings that must be taught and led', 'beings that are liberal and characterful', 'beings that are bright and pure and give happiness', 'beings that have potential for learning and growth' and 'beings that are soft and weak' and when one year had passed after the entrance into the department, the images of children possessed by the students were changed into the subjects of teaching by the students as teachers and images based on developmental knowledge of childhood.

The Expression of Fantastic Body in Fashion Illustration (패션 일러스트레이션에 나타난 판타스틱 신체의 표현 분석)

  • These days, the fantastic in opposition to classic beauty becomes a genre of creative body expression. The purpose of this study was to analyze the expressive characteristics of body types and meanings in recent fantastic fashion illustration. The method of this study was to analyze recent documentaries, fashion books, internet web site and so forth. The results were as follows: In literatures, pictures and movies, the category of the fantastic body's expressive types were classified as dominant mutant based on SF, multi body or fragment body by disruption, heterogeneous compound based on myth, personified humanoid and non substance in supernatural boundary. The dominant mutant based on SF was expressed image morphing, composition of machine image with body and modern metamorphosis of classic SF body. It means propensity to post-feminism and reservation of meaning analysis based on human unconsciousness. The multi body or fragment body by disruption in fashion illustration was expressed distorted composition of same body pictures, replacement of different bodies, deconstruction and partial omission of body and composition of meaning or non meaning images. It means permanence of self and basic narcissism. The heterogeneous compound based on myth was expressed general composition or optical illusion of various and aggressive animal motive. It means reinterpretation of original myth, metaphor of basic femme fatale, pursuit of permanence and sign of primitive mind in unconsciousness. The personified humanoid was expressed real human body description of mannequin or ball joint doll and anthropomorphism of robot image. It means representative satisfaction and nostalgia of childhood. The non substance in supernatural boundary was expressed grotesque description of ghost, zombie, vampire, angel, fairy, using of symbolic red, black color and non body. It means human's basic desire about immortality and taboo. Through the result of these study, the expression of fantastic body in fashion illustration will expend expressive method and we will understand human and cultural codes of today.

Characteristics of Fashion Memes in Vetements based on the Playfulness of Mikhail Bakhtin's Carnival Theory (미하일 바흐친(Mikhail Bakhtin) 카니발이론의 유희성을 중심으로 본 베트멍(Vetements)의 패션 밈 특성)

  • The development of the Internet has led to the emergence of an internet meme culture using duplication. This phenomenon has appeared in the fashion field as 'fashion memes' and its playful expression has helped it to spread. Vetements is one of the well-known brands that actively incorporates fashion memes into their fashion. The purpose of this study was to examine the playfulness of Mikhail Bakhtin's Carnival Theory and identify the playful identity, design characteristics, and implications of Vetements' fashion memes in light of Bakhtin's playfulness. The research methods were literature research and collection case analysis, and empirical content research was conducted in parallel. The scope of this study was fashion memes shown in the products from 2017 S/S to 2019 F/W. The study results showed that Bakhtin's playfulness could be divided into "playfulness in the destruction of hierarchy", "playfulness in grotesque imagery" and "playfulness in the emphasis on the lower bodily stratum". Based on these findings, the playful identity of Vetements' fashion meme images can be described as follows. First, it breaks down the existing order of fashion brands like the destruction of hierarchy in Bakhtin's theory. Second, it is grotesque; it is strange, eerie, yet ridiculous at the same time. Third, it is a playful metaphor of contamination, filth, and lower stratum. The modes of embodiment of such identity include Vetements' collaboration with famous brands, the use of cheap items, and the expression of genderless ideas.

An Analysis of the Infographics Features of Visualization Materials in Section 'Information and Communication' of Physics I Textbook (물리 I 교과서의 '정보와 통신' 단원에 제시된 시각화 자료의 인포그래픽 특징 분석)

  • In this study, we try to examine its features by using the methods of systematic infographics analysis for visualization materials that are used in Physics I textbooks. Thus, after developing the analytical framework infographics, visualization materials is described in the section "information and communication" and have been analyzed separately as "data visualization" and "Infographics." The results of this study are as follows. First, the analysis framework of infographics can be classified contents of the information, visual representation, and media method. Second, the visualization materials that are displayed in the section "information and communication" of Physics I textbook are of higher quality than most schematized data that are graphically, simple information. Third, the features of visualization materials in textbooks have many relations & functions on 'information content', text & metaphor on 'visual element', illustration & comparison on 'expression type', graphic on 'expression mode', printed matter on 'media method', and horizontal & vertical type on 'the flow of attention'. From the analysis results, in the section "information and communication" of Physics I textbook uses a lot of visualization materials, however it does not provide rich infographics but only simple graphical materials. By utilizing the results of the analysis of textbook and analysis framework of infographics, which has been developed through the this study, let us hope that the opportunity to be able to grasp the importance of infographics in science education be provided.
