  • In this paper, a method of using a look-up table for a fuzzy logic controller is proposed. A look-up table is designed for a fast inference. An algorithm for an inference is developed with a view to decrease execution time. The performance of the developed fuzzy controller is compared with that of the traditional one.

  • The control laws for cart-pole system are studied to see the schemes on which the control laws are made. Also, the odd symmetry of the relation between the output of the control laws and the system state vector is observed. Utilizing the symmetry in quantizing the system state variables and implementing the control laws into look-up table is discussed. Then, a CMAC is trained for a nonlinear control law for a cart-pole system such that the symmetry is conserved and its learning performance is evaluated. It is found that utilizing the symmetry is to reduce the memory requirement as well as the training period while improving the learning quality in terms of preserving the symmetry.

  • When actual IPMSM is driving, it is difficult to figure out the correct current during the current control period due to the operation speed limit of digital signal processing. Therefore, in order to control IPMSM for electric vehicle efficiently, we should design 2D Look-up Table to find out optimal current reference corresponding to speed and torque of IPMSM. This paper explains the design method of 2D Look-up Table for optimal current control of constant torque area and constant output area of IPMSM for electric vehicle. Finally, experimental results are presented to verify the reliability of 2D Look-up Table.

  • In this paper, an efficient pulse shaping filter architecture for SSB/BPSK-DS/CDMA is proposed. The filter satisfies the specifications in IS-95. The proposed architecture is based on polyphase decomposition and look-up table method. By exploiting the linear phase property of the decomposed filter coefficients, the chip area required for look-up table can be reduced by half compared with the conventional methods. By Synopsys simulations, it is shown that the use of the proposed method can result in reduction in the number of gates by 40%.

  • Theoretical IPMSM control technique is complicated, and reliability is low because of the changing parameters. Further, in case of general look-up table designing method which obtains torque characteristics (according to current and speed) or torque characteristics (according to magnetic flux through the entire control region), obtaining a precise result can be difficult and has the disadvantage taking too much time to establish a current look-up table. In this paper, the new auto maximum torque point tracking (MTPT) algorithm that automatically finds the optimum stator d - q axis electric current reference through the entire speed region is devised; consequently, it could establish a 3D look-up table with torque characteristics according to current and speed. In case of using the devised auto MTPT algorithm, the result value detailed was obtained in comparison with the generalized look-up design technique, and checked to reduce the current look-up table establishment time.

  • Conventional look-up table(LT) has gained a lot of speed increase in generation of digital holograms for 3D objects, but it has required an enormous memory size of the LT. In this paper, a novel approach to dramatically reduce the size of the conventional LT, still keeping its advantage of fast computational speed is proposed, which is called here a N-LT(novel look-up table) method. In the proposed method, only the fringe patterns of the center points on each image plane are pre-calculated, called elemental fringe patterns and stored in the look-up table. Then, the fringe patterns for other object points on each image plane can be obtained by simply shifting this pre-calculated elemental fringe pattern according to the displaced values from the center to those points and adding them together. Some experimental results revealed that the computational speed and the required memory size of the proposed approach are found to be 48.7 times faster than that of the ray-tracing method and 217 times smaller than that of the conventional LT method, respectively.

  • 본 논문은 3S Look-up table을 이용한 직류서보 전동기 시스템의 퍼지 PID제어의 한 기법을 제안한다. 이러한 제어기법은 재래식 조정기법인 ITAE table을 이용하여 제어기의 변수를 1차 조정한 다음 퍼지제어 행렬을 사용하여 작은 이득갑의 변화를 자동 결정함으로서 전동기 속도제어 시스템의 정상상태오차와 과도응답 특성을 향상 시킬 수 있었다. 또한 이러한 시스템은 마이크로프로세서를 이용함으로서 쉽게 실현할 수 있었다.

  • Our study of rider's postulator stability and tracking control on a unicycle began form the observation of a human riding. The system including unicycle and human operationg his unicycle is a fuzzy intelligent biomechanical model on basis of instinct and intuition search mechanisms. We proposed a robotic unicycle with one wheel and one body as a basic mode and derived equation of motion to this model. Our works is in making out fuzzy look-up table to control robotic unicycle. Fuzzy look-up table were determined for staight line and curve under reasonable inference emulating human's instinct and intuition riding a unicyale. Simulation results show that postulator stability and tracking control on both straight line and curve were successful by using proposed each fuzzy look-up table.

  • I propose a hybrid fuzzy controller with a look-up table to improve the performance of the FARMA(Fuzzy Auto-regressive Moving Average) fuzzy controller. The hybrid structure of the proposed method is composed of a fuzzy controller with a look-up table of the PD type and the FARMA fuzzy controller. The proposed method improves poor performance due to the lack of I/O data to calculate predictive output and shows robust performance over the FARMA fuzzy controller when a incorrect Dmax value is selected by trial and error. I executed some computer simulations on the regulation problem of an inverted pendulum system and compared the results with those of the FARMA fuzzy controller.

  • RF power amplifier requires linearization in order to reduce adjacent channel interference. And most of the existing linearization algorithms assume that a PA has memory-less nonlinearity. But for the wider bandwidth signal, the memory effect of PA cannot be ignored. This paper investigates digital pre-distortion by use of a memory polynomial model which compensates for amplifier nonlinearity and memory effect. The look-up table based implementation scheme is used to reduce the computational complexity of the pre-distortion block. The linearization performance is demonstrated on wideband CDMA signal and class AB high power amplifier.
