The compensation strategy of shunt active power filters is one of the most important link that determine its compensation characteristics. In this paper, a new interpretation of the instantaneous reactive power theory in three-phase circuits was proposed. A compensation strategy (ip, iq mode) was introduced on the basis of the new interpretation. This compensation strategy was compared with other two compensation strategies(P, q mode and UPF mode). When source voltage is distorted, a sinusoidal, the three compensation strategies are equivalent to each other. When source voltage is distorted, a sinusoidal source current may result only by using ip, iq mode. This is the advantage of ip, iq mode. The result is verified by simulation.

As portable multimedia devices become more popular and smaller, the use of portable projectors is also rapidly increasing. However, when portable projectors are used in mobile environments in which a dedicated planar screen is not available, the problem of geometric distortion of the projected image often arises. In this paper, we present a geometric image compensation method for portable projectors to compensate for geometric distortions of images projected on various types of planar or nonplanar projection surfaces. The proposed method is based on extraction of the two-dimensional (2D) geometric information of a projection area, setting of the compensation area, and prewarping using 2D homography. The experimental results show that the proposed method allows effective compensation for waved and arbitrarily shaped projection areas, as well as tilted and bent surfaces that are often found in the mobile environment. Furthermore, the proposed method is more computationally efficient than conventional image compensation methods that use 3D geometric information.

Magnetically suspended sensitive gyroscopes (MSSGs) provide an interesting alternative for achieving precious attitude angular measurement. To effectively reduce the measurement error caused by the non-uniformity of the air-gap flux density in a MSSG, this paper proposes a novel compensation method based on measuring and modeling of the air-gap flux density. The angular velocity measurement principle and the structure of the MSSG are described, and then the characteristic of the air-gap flux density has been analyzed in detail. Next, to compensate the flux density distribution error and improve the measurement accuracy of the MSSG, a real-time compensation method based on the online measurement with hall probes is designed. The common issues caused by the non-uniformity of the air-gap flux density can be effectively resolved by the proposed method in high-precision magnetically suspended configurations. Comparative simulation results before and after compensation have verified the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed compensation method.
This paper proposes a new model to compensate for errors of a five-axis machine tool. A matrix with error components, that is, an error matrix, is separated from the error synthesis model of a five-axis machine tool. Based on the kinematics and inversion of the error matrix which can be obtained not by using a numerical method, an error compensation model is established and used to calculate compensation values of joint variables. The proposed compensation model does not need numerical methods to find the compensation values from the error compensation model, which includes nonlinear equations. An experiment using a double ball-bar is implemented to verify the proposed model.
The conventional graphical representation of the instantaneous compensation power flow for single-phase active power filters(APFs) simply represents the active power flow and the reactive power flow which flowing between the power source and the active filter / the load. But, this method does not provide the information about the rectification mode and the compensation mode of APFs, especially, the loss for each mode was not considered at all. This is very important to understand the compensation operation characteristics of APFs. Therefore, this paper proposes the graphical representation of the instantaneous compensation power flow for single-phase APFs considering the instantaneous rectification mode and the instantaneous inversion mode. Three cases are verified in this paper - without compensation, with compensation of the active power 'p' and the fundamental reactive power 'q', and with compensation of only the distorted power 'h'. To ensure the validity of the proposed approach, PSIM simulation is achieved. As a result, we could confirm that the proposed approach was easy to explain the instantaneous compensation power flow considering the instantaneous rectification mode and the instantaneous inversion mode of APFs, also, Total Harmonic Distortion(THD)/Power Factor (P.F) and Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) analysis were compared for each case.
Hair style allows consumers to express their aesthetic sense and individual beauty. However, due to the attributes of hairdressing services and the high expectations of consumers, complaints are increasing rapidly. This study examined the complaint behavior, compensation and hair salon patronage of consumers. Then, a model is presented that explains the complaint behavior for hairstyling, forms of compensation, and hair salon patronage through empirical analysis. This study was conducted by a survey method. A total of 399 questionnaires were used for the analysis. The data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 statistical software. The dimension of complaint behavior for hair style included verbal complaints, non-verbal complaints in the salon and private complaints outside the salon. The forms of compensation included re-procedure, psychological, and material compensation. Hair salon patronage was one-dimensional. These results were obtained through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Then the conceptual model was empirically analyzed by covariance structure analysis and obtained in final form through model modification. Verbal complaint behavior positively influenced re-procedure compensation. In addition, non-verbal complaint behavior had positive effects on psychological and material compensation. Hair salon patronage was positively affected by re-procedure and psychological compensation. However, private complaint behavior had a negative effect on hair salon patronage. The direct and indirect effects of the paths among variables were verified by analyzing the mediating effects of different forms of compensations. It is possible to establish differentiated marketing strategies with these findings for consumers with complaint behaviors by considering the forms of compensation.
A model for calculating structure interacted mechanics is proposed. A structural interaction model and controller design based on tuned mass damping (TMD) was developed to control the induced vibration. A key point is to introduce a new analytical model to evaluate the properties of the TMD that recognizes the motion-dependent nonlinear response observed in the simulations. Aiming at the problem of increased current harmonics and low efficiency of permanent magnet synchronous motors for electric vehicles due to dead time effect, a dead time compensation method based on neural network filter and current polarity detection is proposed. Firstly, the DC components and the higher harmonic components of the motor currents are obtained by virtue of what the neural network filters and the extracted harmonic currents are adjusted to the required compensation voltages by virtue of what the neural network filters. Then, the extracted DC components are used for current polarity dead time compensation control to avert the false compensation when currents approach zero. The neural network filter method extracts the required compensation voltages from the speed component and the current polarity detection compensation method obtains the required compensation voltages by discriminating the current polarity. The combination of the two methods can more precisely compensate the dead time effect of the control system to improve the control performance. Furthermore, based on the relaxed method, the intelligent approach of stability criterion can be regulated appropriately and the artificial TMD was found to be effective in reducing cross-wind vibrations.
In this paper, a robust discrete-time adaptive control with compensation is proposed for single-input single-output discrete-time plants which have unmodeled dynamics. The stability of the overall system is studied using the conic sector stability theorems when a normalized constant gain parameter adaptation algorithm and a properly chosen compensation are used. An illustrative exmple shows that this compensation can also increase the parameter adaptation speed. And a method of compensation using the adaptive observation is also discussed.
RVDT is a transducer that presents rotary phase angle according to the displacement of eccentric rotor such as press machine. However a study on the phase error of RVDT that affects precision is not enough. This paper analyzes RVDT phase error and obtains compensation curves with serial or parallel resistance through simulation. First, error compensation procedure that analyses errors due to the unbalance of reference inductances of each pole and uses parallel resistance as a compensation is proposed. Second, error compensation procedure due to the amplitude unbalance of the sensor driving currents is examined by serial compensation resistance. Experimentally, we got stable RVDT with phase error under $1^{\circ}$ by the proposed method.
In this paper, we propose a series active power filter control method to compensate current harmonics and unbalanced source voltage. The system is composed of series active power filter and shunt passive filer that are tuned 5th and 7th harmonics. In this conventional system, series active power filter complements drawbacks of the shunt passive filter, namely improves harmonic compensation characteristics, and compensates unbalanced source voltage. In the proposed algorithm, compensation voltage for harmonic reduction is calculated by performance function, and compensation voltage for unbalanced source voltage is calculated in based on a synchronous reference frame. So, ultimate compensation voltage is sum of those two compensation voltages. By computer simulation, we verify the excellency of proposed method.
