Analysis of Slipper-pad Fault Condition for Hydrauric Rotary Actuator (유압피스톤 모터용 Slipper-pad의 손상상태 해석)

  • This paper was undertaken to do morphological analysis of wear debris for slipper-pad of hydrauric rotary acuator. The lubricating wear test was performed under different experimental conditions using the wear test device and wear specimens of the pin on disk type was rubbed in paraffinic base oil by three kinds of lubricating materials. varying applied load, sliding distance. The four shape parameters(50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) are used showed that the four shape parameters of wear debris depend on a kind of the lubricating condition. It was capable of presuming wear volume for slipper-pad of hydrauric rotary acuator on driving time.

  • This paper was undertaken to do morphological analysis of wear particles for sliding members hydraulic rotary actuator.   • Surface mounters are used to mount the parts of electronic products on PCB(Printed Circuit Board. Those machines rely on high precision, high productivity, and software for accomodation of use. In this paper, two algorithms and a software which can give the users the acco-modation and high productivity for rotary type surface mounters are presented. The algo- rithms for development of of the software consider all factors which affect the effeciency of the operation. And the interface between user and machine for the accomodation of use can be achieved through the developed software.

  • A Superconducting Rotary Machine (SRM) is characterized by an air-cored machine with its rotor iron and stator iron teeth removed. For this reason, the SRM is featured by 3D magnetic flux distribution, which decreases in the direction of axis, Therefore, 3D magnetic field analysis method is required to know about characteristic of magnetic field distribution of SRM, In this paper, 3D flux distribution of SRM is calculation by using analytical method. The magnetic field distribution due to the field coils use of the Biot-Savart equation. The magnetic core is represented by magnetic surface polarities. The paper describes the combined use of above methods for the total computation, and compares analytical method and 3D FEM(Finite Element Method) results.

  • In this paper, double ball-bar is used to estimate the geometric errors of a rotary table, which includes one-axial motion, two-radial motions and two-tilt motions, except the angular positioning error. To simplify the measurement procedures, three measurement steps have been designed and developed. At each measurement step, one end of the double ball-bar is fixed at the nose of spindle and the other end is located on the rotary table. And specific circular test path is planned to keep the distance between two balls as constant at ideal case. The relationship including the geometric errors of a rotary table and the measured distance between two balls which is distorted by the geometric errors is defined by using ball-bar equation. Each geometric error is modeled as $4^{th}$ order polynomial considering $C^1$-continuity. Finally the coefficients of polynomial are calculated by least-square method. Simulation is done to check the validation of the suggested method considering set-up errors and measurement noise. Suggested method is applied to estimate geometric errors of a rotary table of a 5-axis machine tool.

  • This paper pressents a condition-based maintenance (CBM) method through bibration analysis. The well known frequency analysis is employed for performing machine fault diagnosis. The statistical control chart is also applied for analyzing the trend of the bearing wear. Vibration sensors are attached to prototype machine and signals are continuously monitored. The sampled data are utilized to evaluate how well the fast fourier transform(FFT) and the statistical control chart techniques could be used to identify defects of machine and to analyze the machine degradation. Experimental results show that the propowed approach could classify every mal-function and could be utilized for real machine diagnosis system.

  • This study presents the selection of cutting conditions in high speed pipe cutting machine for the better quality. A high speed pipe cutting machine which uses a rotary knife can make good quality products in short time. But, the machine is much sensitive by cutting conditions because of the complicated mechanism. In this reason, many experiments for cutting condition selection are necessary to improve quality of production. This study carried out cutting experiments with the three factors that are cutting RPM, cutting force and pooling force. 2-dimensional profile measuring instrument is used to measure which is represented by ${\Delta}h$, a sum of burr and collapse height. The effects of factors are analyzed by using MINITAB, the commercial software.

Selecting Optimal Dressing Parameters of Ultra-precision Centerless Grinding Based on the Taguchi Methodology (다구찌 방법론에 근거한 초정밀 센터리스 연삭의 최적 드레싱 가공 조건 선정)

  • In this study, rotary type diamond dressing system for ultra-precision centerless grinding for ferrule was developed at the first time and experiments were conducted with AE sensor and hall sensor system to verify the optimum dressing condition for ultra-precision centerless grinding for ferrule. The correlations with the condition of dressing are evaluated by AE signal analysis with root mean square (RMS) and frequency analysis. And current signals from hall sensor are also studied as a factor of dressing optimum condition selection. Dressing process was conducted to investigate the effects of depth of cut, rotating speed, and the number of overlap to select the optimum condition of rotary dressing system of ultra-precision centerless grinding machine for ferrule fabrication. In order to verify the optimum condition of dressing, AE and current signals were compared with the surface quality of dressing wheel and grinding wheel for ultra-precision ferrule grinding. All of these experiments were completed by Taguchi Methodology to reduce experimental time. Hence, the optimum condition of rotary dressing system for ultra-precision centerless grinding for ferrule fabrication can be selected following to the experiment result from signals of AE and hall sensor.

  • Recently, the machine tools called multi-task machines, which mounted rotary axes on the table or spindle are used increasingly. Accordingly, multi-task machine tool takes a growing interest on the motion accuracy of feed drive system. In this study, measurement and diagnosis of motion errors ware attempted from circular pattern obtained by using DBB (Double ball bar) device. Those were obtained at both clockwise and counter clockwise motions in mutually perpendicularly intersecting three planes. The reliability of error measurement system for multi-task machine tool was verified by the direct test cutting.
